Abstract

Public street lighting is a complement to the road and is placed on the left or right side of the road or in the middle of the median of the road to illuminate the road. The public street lighting that has been operating is usually rarely maintained, and problems will arise in the street lighting that can reduce the illumination value. This study aims to determine the illumination value, whether it is the SNI 7391:2008 standard or not, by means of measurements and simulations on the Jenderal Sudirman Pemalang road. measurement using a digital lux meter (AS803) and simulation using the software DIALux evo 10.1. Based on simulation results with the SNI 7391:2008 standard and an illumination value of 11-20 lux, the study recommends replacing the installed lamp with a 70 W LED lamp. The result of this study is that replacing a 70 W LED lamp can reduce the cost of electrical energy consumption by Rp 3,037,338 and reduce electrical power consumption by 2,102.4 kWh

Abstract

Tingginya tindak kejahatan pencurian di rumah tangga perlu diantisipasi dengan penggunaan sistem keamanan rumah yang modern, salah satunya yaitu smart home. Salah satu penerapan smart home berupa safety system. Studi ini mengajukan perancangan sistem keamanan smart home berbasis mikrokontroler. Sistem keamanan smart home ini menggunakan kombinasi metode pengaman biometric fingerprint dan password. Metode perancangan sistem dengan metode Research and Development (RnD). Proses RnD dibagi menjadi tiga tahap yaitu tahap studi, research, dan pengembangan. Tahap studi meliputi studi pustaka dan studi lapangan terkait sistem keamanan rumah, tahap research berupa pembuatan dan pengujian prototype sistem keamanan, dan tahap pengembangan berupa pengujian dan perbaikan terhadap kekurangan sistem keamanan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan prototype sistem keamanan smart home yang memiliki kemampuan memberikan akses terhadap pintu dengan metode autentifikasi biometric fingerprint dan password serta fitur tambahan emergency backup supply dan emergency entry. Akses pintu diberikan ketika autentifikasi berhasil dilakukan dan mikrokontroler akan memberikan perintah untuk menghidupkan solenoid door lock sebagai mekanisme penguncian pintu. Sistem ini bekerja menggunakan beberapa perangkat diantaranya: Arduino Mega, modul fingerprint, keypad, LCD, power supply unit (PSU), magnetic switch, solenoid door lock, dan buzzer.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the competency of vocational high school students in automotive air conditioning (AC) maintenance by developing a practical learning module. Conducted at SMK Al Asror Semarang, this research utilized the ADDIE development model, encompassing Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation phases. The analysis identified inadequate facilities and infrastructure as significant factors contributing to students’ low achievement levels. To address this issue, a practical learning module was designed based on the Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (SKKNI) and validated by subject matter and media experts. The implementation involved 29 students who participated in both pre- and post-competency assessments. The module’s practicality was also evaluated in terms of usability, clarity, relevance, and instructional design. In the final stage, students underwent a practical AC maintenance test assessed by external industry professionals. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in students’ competencies, indicating that the developed module is not only effective but also a valuable instructional resource for enhancing HVACR learning outcomes in vocational education settings.

Abstract

Teacher performance refers to the success of teachers in creating a directed and effective learning process. Factors that influence teacher performance include academic supervision, communication, participatory decision-making, and school climate. In practice, supervision is not always implemented effectively, and communication between principals and teachers does not consistently run harmoniously. This study aims to examine the influence of academic supervision, communication, and participatory decision-making on teacher performance, with school climate as a moderating variable. The research employed a quantitative survey design. Data were collected using questionnaires and documentation. Questionnaires gathered information related to academic supervision, communication, participatory decision-making, and school climate, while documentation was used to obtain Teacher Performance Assessment (PKG) data. The sample consisted of 114 civil servant (PNS) teachers and principals from four public junior high schools in Banyumanik Sub-district, selected using purposive sampling. The findings show that academic supervision, communication, and participatory decision-making each have a significant effect on teacher performance. School climate does not have a direct significant effect on performance, but it strengthens the influence of academic supervision and communication on performance. However, it does not moderate the influence of participatory decision-making. The study recommends providing opportunities for teachers to engage in decision-making and fostering a positive, supportive school climate to improve performance

Abstract

The digital competence of teachers is a crucial aspect in supporting the success of technology-based learning implementation. However, at SMK Merdeka Ulujami, issues were found regarding the low use of effective digital media in the learning process, mainly due to limited training and the lack of integrated media. This study aims to develop a website-based Learning Management System (LMS) as a solution to improve the digital competence of teachers. This research is a type of R&D with the development model being ADDIE. The LMS was developed using the WordPress platform and the Tutor LMS plugin, designed to support blended learning. The research was conducted at SMK Merdeka Ulujami with a total of 20 teachers as participants. Normality testing was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk method, which showed normal results. Data analysis used paired sample t-tests and Normalized Gain. The results showed a significant improvement in the digital competence of teachers after using the LMS, with a Normalized Gain score of 0.93 or 93%, which is categorized as effective. Observations and interviews indicated that the LMS helped teachers manage digital classrooms efficiently and in a structured manner. However, challenges remain, especially with older teachers who are less familiar with software, highlighting the need for continuous support.

Abstract

This study was conducted to address the gap between the professional competence of vocational high school teachers and the competency standards established by the Regulation of the Minister of National Education Number 16 of 2007 and the Decree of the Directorate General of Teachers and Education Personnel Number 2626/B/HK.04.01/2023 regarding the Teacher Competency Model. Limited access to conventional education and training also contributes to this issue. The objective of this research is to develop a mobile learning-based training system using multi-platform integration that is engaging, effective, and adaptive in order to enhance the professional competence of vocational high school teachers.The development process applied the ADDIE model through five comprehensive stages. In the analysis stage, a needs assessment survey identified an urgent need for technology-based training. During the design stage, various components of the mobile learning system were structured. The development stage involved expert validation, and the system was rated as “Highly Feasible” by media experts. In the implementation stage, the system was delivered online and involved 230 vocational high school teachers. The evaluation stage showed an increase in the average score from 15.62 in the pre-test to 18.84 in the post-test, with an N-Gain score of 0.74, categorized as high. Additionally, participants rated the system as “Very Engaging”, with an attractiveness score of 3.6 out of 4, equivalent to 90%.The findings indicate that the mobile learning-based education and training system developed in this study is effective in improving the professional competence of vocational high school teachers.

Abstract

This study focuses on the importance of branding strategies in the education sector, with specific emphasis on Ngudi Waluyo University (UNW), a new private university in Semarang Regency. The objective of the research was to analyze and identify brand positioning strategies, brand identity strategies, brand personality strategies, and brand communication strategies employed by UNW. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing interviews, observation, and documentation as sources of direct, descriptive data. UNW's brand positioning strategy is built upon its vision and mission. The brand identity strategy centers around the symbol of UNW, which signifies sincerity, neutrality, and a cultured attitude in the university's contribution to national education, aiming for a glorious Indonesia. The brand personality strategy involves collaboration with competent stakeholders. UNW's brand communication strategy encompasses the establishment of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various agencies, particularly schools in Central Java and Tri Dharma, as well as practice areas and government institutions such as the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Central Java and the Government of Timor Leste. These MoUs also incorporate the KOKY program. To enhance its branding, UNW is advised to strengthen its position through innovative initiatives. By consistently improving the quality of education, UNW can establish a strong brand image and increase its competitive advantage in the education sector.

Abstract

The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in late December 2019 has significantly impacted the global and Indonesian education systems, resulting in a learning crisis and academic setbacks among students. In response, the government has pursued curriculum innovation, namely the independent curriculum, as a means to recover from the post-pandemic learning crisis. This study aimed to assess the success of the independent curriculum implementation at Senior High School Mover in Kota Ambon. The study focused on the planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up stages of the program, analyzing its context, input, process, and product aspects. Data were collected from five high schools and 60 teachers in Ambon City using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicated that the context evaluation of the curriculum emphasized the need for government and school support in terms of adequate funds and facilities. The evaluation of inputs demonstrated that teaching modules were an effective approach in meeting students' needs. The process evaluation revealed that teachers utilized the modules effectively during teaching. This research is expected to provide information about the implementation of independent curriculum in mobilizing high schools, especially in Kota Ambon so that schools can make improvements in the implementation of the kurikulum merdeka.

Abstract

Perhatian akan pengembangan energi terbarukan semakin meningkat dikarenakan polusi lingkungan yang semakin memburuk serta masalah kekurangan energi. Salah satu pengembangan energi terbarukan yang ada di Indonesia adala PLTH Pantai Baru yang terletak di Desa Poncosari, Srandakan, Bantul. Umumnya, pembangkit listrik yang menggunakan sumber energi terbarukan memiliki kelemahan yaitu sangat bergantung pada kondisi alam. Hal yang sama pun terjadi pada PLTH Pantai Baru. Selain itu, juga perlu diketahui apakah daya yang dibangkitkan mampu memenuhi kebutuhan beban yang ada. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Menurut Walliman (2011: 10), penelitian deskriptif merupakan penelitian yang bergantung pada kegiatan observasi dengan tujuan untuk mengumpulkan data. Data-data yang dikumpulkan berupa data tegangan, arus, dan daya dari PLTH Pantai Baru. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan selama tiga hari dengan tujuan untuk mendapatkan variasi kondisi lingkungan dan beban. Data-data tersebut kemudian akan dibandingkan dengan hasil simulasi melalui aplikasi Homer. Hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan yaitu pada hari pertama daya yang dihasilkan PLTH Pantai Baru sebesar 74.204,05 W dengan efisiensi 52,07%. Hari kedua sebesar 55.393,45 W dengan efisiensi 38,87%. Hari ketiga sebesar 40.250,47 W dengan efisiensi 28,25%. Sementara itu, hasil simulasi hari pertama sebesar 80.656,88 W, hari kedua sebesar 67.228,42 W, dan hari ketiga sebesar 61.646,48 W.

Abstract

Wireless sensor network (WSN) is a network system consisting of various supporting components that integrate information to the base station. In its operation, delivery is greatly influenced by energy usage because limited battery supply causes variability in energy consumption on node activity factors, communication distance, and environmental conditions. So, in order to increase performance and energy efficiency, a routing protocol is required by selecting the best path through cluster head. The technique of determining the cluster head (CH) based on energy is used to avoid irregularity (randomness). In this study, the hybrid routing protocol selects CH based on the remaining energy, considering distance, coverage radius, and energy metrics. The system test evaluation compares the implementation of low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) and hybrid LEACH- Distributed, energy and coverage-aware routing (DECAR). The results of 300 rounds show that the hybrid achieves a packet delivery ratio close to 100% and a throughput of 78.22 Kbps, while LEACH achieves a packet delivery ratio of 92.18% and a throughput of 247.15 Kbps. The average energy consumption of LEACH is 99.27%, while the hybrid shows much greater efficiency at 30.55%. This study emphasizes the significance of maintaining equilibrium performance and energy consumption in the development of future routing protocols.
