Abstract

High-quality healthcare depends not only on clinical competence but also on nurses’ willingness to engage in behaviors that exceed formal job expectations, known as organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). This study examines how transformational leadership influences nurses’ OCB through the mediating roles of organizational culture and organizational commitment at RSUD Inche Abdoel Moeis Samarinda, a regional public hospital in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey of 155 nurses, data were analyzed through Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that transformational leadership significantly strengthens organizational culture and commitment, both of which positively affect nurses’ OCB. Organizational culture enhances teamwork, trust, and initiative, while organizational commitment fosters loyalty and responsibility. Moreover, the indirect effects indicate that transformational leadership influences OCB primarily through culture and commitment, suggesting a dual mediation mechanism. These findings expand the theoretical understanding of leadership-driven behavioral outcomes and highlight the importance of cultivating supportive cultural values and emotional bonds within public healthcare institutions. Practically, hospital leaders should reinforce transformational leadership practices, participatory communication, and fair recognition systems to build stronger organizational culture and commitment, thereby promoting proactive, patient-centered behavior among nursing staff.

Abstract

This study explores Saudi Arabia's ambitious entry into the global football industry through the lens of strategic investment, comparing its approach with established models like Major League Soccer (MLS) and the Chinese Super League (CSL). This research aims to examine the economic objectives and sustainability potential that drive this investment. It aims to assess how these investments contribute to economic diversification, job creation, and the broader development of Saudi Arabia’s sports industry. The study employs a literature review methodology to evaluate the potential long-term sustainability and effectiveness of Saudi Arabia's approach, drawing insights from the successes and failures of the MLS and CSL models. Findings indicate that while Saudi Arabia's substantial financial investments have the potential to rapidly elevate its league's international profile, their long-term impact depends on strategic economic management. Achieving lasting economic benefits requires not only significant financial outlays but also a well-balanced approach that includes cultivating local talent, establishing independent revenue streams, ensuring financial sustainability, and fostering a genuine football culture. By addressing these factors, Saudi Arabia can enhance the sustainability of its league and align its football investments with the broader economic diversification goals outlined in vision 2030.

Abstract

General Background: Regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) play a vital role in supporting regional development and economic independence in Indonesia, particularly within the energy sector of East Kalimantan. Specific Background: Despite their strategic position, many BUMDs face challenges in maintaining competitiveness due to limited human resource development and weak managerial systems. Knowledge Gap: Prior studies have examined the effects of training and motivation on employee performance, but few have explored the mediating role of motivation between training, coaching, and performance in regional energy enterprises. Aims: This study investigates how training and coaching influence employee performance through motivation as a mediating variable. Results: Using an explanatory survey method with 82 respondents and Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis, findings reveal that training and motivation significantly affect performance, coaching affects motivation but not performance directly, and motivation mediates the relationship between both predictors and performance. Novelty: This research highlights motivation as a pivotal mediating mechanism linking developmental interventions to performance in the regional energy industry context. Implications: The study underscores the importance of integrating structured training and personalized coaching to strengthen employee motivation, thereby enhancing organizational performance and sustainability within the energy sector. Highlights: Motivation mediates the link between training, coaching, and performance. Coaching enhances motivation more strongly than direct performance. Integrated HR development boosts competitiveness in the energy sector. Keywords: Training, Coaching, Motivation, Employee Performance, Energy Industry

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of public service quality effectiveness on organizational commitment among SAR personnel at the Tanjungpinang SAR Office. Service quality is measured using Kotler’s four service characteristics: intangibility, inseparability, variability, and perishability. The study is motivated by the decline in the Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) in 2023 and the low competency score of SAR personnel, with 67.57% falling below the required professional competency standard. This condition indicates potential challenges to organizational commitment, which may reduce the effectiveness of SAR operations. A quantitative approach was employed, involving 93 respondents, with data collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings reveal that all four dimensions of service quality significantly influence organizational commitment, both partially and simultaneously. Intangibility and inseparability provide the strongest contribution, while variability and perishability influence commitment through individual skills in delivering optimal service and implementing SAR personnel service SOPs supported by teamwork. These findings highlight that improving service quality in the SAR sector must be accompanied by strengthening human resource competencies to enhance organizational commitment. This study offers practical implications for policymakers in designing strategies to improve public services and develop human resources in SAR institutions, as well as contributing empirical insights to public service quality studies in emergency response organizations.
