Abstract

This study explores the adoption of ride-hailing services in West Papua, a developing region in Indonesia, where concerns about service performance and security risks influence user decisions. Guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), the research examines how service performance, social influence, and perceived security risks affect users’ behavioral intention and actual usage. A total of 158 valid responses were collected through a quantitative survey, and data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Findings reveal that service effectiveness and social influence significantly influence behavioral intention, while efficiency and certainty do not. Additionally, certainty, effectiveness, and behavioral intention strongly affect user behavior. The model demonstrates moderate explanatory power with R² values of 0.561 for behavioral intention and 0.600 for user behavior. These results suggest that enhancing perceived service effectiveness and leveraging social influence can encourage adoption in regions with limited digital infrastructure. The study contributes to understanding technology acceptance in underdeveloped areas and offers practical insights for ride-hailing providers aiming to improve user trust and engagement.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) plays an important role in the world of music, especially for Generation Z who grew up in the digital age. However, understanding of how AI drives musical creativity in the context of music education is still limited, especially in West Papua and Papua. This study aims to analyze the influence of awareness, perception, and intention to use AI on Generation Z's musical creativity and innovation, using the theory of affordance as a theoretical foundation. The study employs a quantitative approach with the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method on 219 respondents from West Papua and Papua provinces. The analysis results indicate that the intention to use AI (p = 0.000) and positive perceptions of AI in general (p = 0.000) have a significant influence on AI-based musical creativity, with moderate predictive power (R² = 0.461). This creativity was then found to encourage the use of AI in musical activities (p = 0.000) and the music creation process (p = 0.000), although both showed weak predictive power (R² = 0.292 and R² = 0.251). Conversely, awareness of AI (p = 0.509) and perceptions of AI in the context of music education (p = 0.135) did not significantly influence creativity. These findings suggest that positive intentions and perspectives toward AI are more decisive in driving creativity than awareness levels. Therefore, a contextual approach to digital music education that encourages active exploration is needed to optimize the potential of AI in enhancing creativity.

Abstract

Abstract

Vocational learning requires instructional strategies that actively engage students in authentic problem-solving and skill development. However, many classroom practices still rely on conventional approaches that provide limited opportunities for exploration and collaboration. This study investigates the effect of the implemented learning model on students’ learning outcomes and skill performance in a vocational education setting. A quasi-experimental design with pretest–posttest control groups was employed. Participants consisted of students enrolled in the targeted subject, divided into experimental and control classes. Data on cognitive learning outcomes and performance skills were collected using validated tests and observation sheets. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential tests to examine differences between groups and effect sizes. The findings show that students in the experimental class achieved significantly higher posttest scores than those in the control class. In addition, their skill performance increased from the “moderate” to “high” category, while the control group improved only slightly. These results indicate that the learning model provides structured guidance, promotes active participation, and encourages reflection, thereby supporting stronger conceptual understanding and more consistent practice performance. The study highlights the importance of integrating student-centered strategies in vocational classrooms to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Practical implications include the need for teacher training, structured lesson design, and supportive assessment systems to sustain the effectiveness of the model.

Abstract

Society 5.0 demands individuals who demonstrate integrated character, knowledge, and skills to navigate technology-driven environments. However, existing research rarely compares different estimation strategies in Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) when modeling competency structures. This study aims to identify stable competency indicators for the Society 5.0 era (C-5.0) using several CFA estimation approaches across ordinal and continuous data types. A quantitative survey was conducted with Indonesian TVET academics and practitioners, and data were analyzed using multiple statistical simulations. The model included 30 manifest indicators representing affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains. Findings reveal that only six indicators consistently remained robust across estimation techniques: curiosity, environmental care, and social care (character domain); creative thinking and innovative thinking (knowledge domain); and cooperative skills (skills domain). One indicator—critical thinking—did not satisfy goodness-of-fit criteria in any estimation scenario, suggesting that its contribution may be context-dependent within TVET environments. These findings highlight that not all theoretically important indicators operate similarly under different measurement conditions. Methodologically, the study emphasizes the importance of testing alternative CFA estimation strategies when competency frameworks involve mixed data types. Practically, the results provide policymakers and vocational institutions with empirically validated priorities for curriculum development, focusing on competencies that demonstrate measurement stability in real-world contexts. Future studies should examine longitudinal validation and cross-cultural replication to strengthen generalizability.

Abstract

The work readiness of vocational graduates is crucial for realizing Independent Learning and Independent Campus (MBKM (acronyms in Bahasa)). However, there are pros and cons from various parties and issues regarding the lack of readiness (competence) of vocational graduates in the 4.0 era, and few discussions about the relationship between this and MBKM. Therefore, this article aims to analyze the best practices in MBKM for the work readiness of vocational graduates in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution by applying a quantitative survey method. The results of the study reveal that character is the dominant factor for vocational work readiness in the era of the 4.0 industrial revolution, followed by technical and non-technical competencies, with the conclusion that character and its sub-aspects, such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, hard work, a creative attitude (open to new ideas), and curiosity, are fundamental to supporting the future of vocational graduates who are able to compete globally
