Abstract

Character education plays a crucial role in shaping the quality personality of elementary school students. Effective learning strategies have been identified as a key approach to enhancing students' characters through education. These strategies help students understand and internalize the desired character values in their daily lives. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on effective learning strategies to enhance the characters of elementary school students. The methodology used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), the data analysis approach is content analysis, and the database from Google Scholar or Google Scholar in the last three years (2020-2023) is analyzed. The results of this research obtained a database with the keywords "learning strategies" AND "student character" AND "elementary school students," from which 9 articles that met the inclusion criteria were selected and analyzed. The analysis concluded that adaptive, collaborative, and innovative learning strategies are key to ensuring the continuous development of students' characters. The role of teachers greatly influences the characters of elementary school students. The results of this research provide recommendations to elementary school teachers to adapt various learning strategies to effectively develop positive character traits in students for the future.

Abstract

Education is an effort made by individuals to follow the learning process. Implementing and selecting the appropriate learning model is critical to achieving ideal learning success. This study examines learning models for increasing science learning activities in elementary schools. The research method applied in this study is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR). This systematic approach allows us to investigate and synthesize the latest research findings in primary school learning. The data obtained comes from literature studies using the PRISMA approach through the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, and Inclusion. The data came from the Google Scholar or Google Cendikia databases, with the research time range covering the last six years, from 2018 to 2023. The results of this study obtained a database with the keywords Learning Model AND Science Learning Activity AND Elementary School Students. the results were selected, and ten articles were taken that met the inclusion criteria for analysis. To achieve the best possible learning success for students, implementing suitable learning models in scientific instruction in primary schools can positively affect their learning activities. It is recommended that further research be able to describe more learning models in increasing science learning activities in students in elementary schools.

Abstract

The effectiveness of Distance Learning (PJJ) is not felt by all places. Schools with conditions far from urban areas and limited access to online learning make PJJ not run as expected. This community service aims to contribute to minimizing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which requires online learning and post-pandemic learning. Service activities are designed to bridge the learning process both online and face-to-face. Hybrid learning as a learning solution after the COVID-19 pandemic requires supporting technology so that learning objectives can be achieved. Learning Management system as an alternative to supporting technology for Hybrid learning because of the various advantages in its features that every educator needs to master. Therefore, this service is deemed necessary to be carried out so that teachers can have sufficient competence in using LMS as part of Hybrid learning.

Abstract

Audiovisual learning tools are utilized in the educational process to deliver subject content by integrating sound and visual elements. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of audiovisual media in teaching Natural Sciences (IPA) at the elementary school level. The research method employed is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), utilizing the Google Scholar database. The literature review was conducted in three stages. Initially, the keyword "Use of audiovisual media" yielded 7,750 documents. In the second stage, adding "science learning" reduced the results to 1,160 documents, and in the final stage, further refining the keyword with "in elementary school" resulted in 648 documents. These documents were then filtered based on specific inclusion criteria, leaving 8 articles for further analysis. The findings indicate that audiovisual learning media positively impacts science education in elementary schools. Moreover, the use of such media can significantly enhance science learning outcomes across both lower and upper grades. Therefore, audiovisual media has been proven to facilitate the science learning process in elementary schools.

Abstract

The use of Augmented Reality (AR) in science learning in primary schools enriches students' learning experience by presenting interactive and visual content, allowing them to explore scientific concepts directly through advanced technology. The objective of this study is to scrutinize the effectiveness of using Augmented Reality (AR) on science learning in elementary schools through a systematic review. The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) as its methodology by going through 4 stages, and the articles analyzed in this study were released in 2019-2023 in the Scopus database. In stage 1 or the identification stage, 27,520 documents were obtained with the keyword “Augmented Reality” and year restrictions ranging from 2019 to 2023. Then in stage 2 or the filtering stage added the keyword “Science” which obtained 1,874 documents and added back the keyword “Elementary School” so as to obtain the results of 51 documents. Furthermore, at stage 3 or eligibility, the documents that have been obtained are selected again according to the eligibility criteria, namely documents with citations above 10 and can be accessed or downloaded, resulting in 8 documents. According to the study's outcomes, it is evident that utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) is an effective method for enhancing science education in elementary school settings.

Abstract

The Kampus Merdeka program presents challenges and opportunities for students to develop creativity, capacity, personality, and independence in seeking and discovering knowledge through real-world dynamics. This program allows students to engage more actively in a self-directed and flexible learning process tailored to their needs and interests. This study aims to describe how to liberate PGSD students' learning through creative thinking skills using a heutagogical approach. This approach emphasizes student-centered learning, where students are encouraged to take full responsibility for their own learning process. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach with the subjects being fourth-semester PGSD students from class B at Universitas Muhammadiyah Kotabumi. Data was collected through questionnaires to measure creative thinking indicators such as curiosity, imagination, originality, the ability to ask questions, unique ideas, freedom of expression, and alternative solutions. The results showed that 14% of students demonstrated curiosity and imagination, 16% originality and the ability to ask questions, 13% unique ideas, 17% freedom of expression, and 10% alternative solutions. The conclusion of this study is that students tend to demonstrate freedom of expression as the primary indicator of creative thinking. The implications of this research highlight the need to apply a heutagogical approach in learning to further promote the development of students' creative thinking abilities.

Abstract

Learning motivation is one of the important factors that influence the success of the learning process, especially in Natural Science (IPA) subjects that require an in-depth understanding of concepts. This study aims to analyze the level of motivation to learn science in 5th-grade students at MIN 3 Lampung Utara. Learning motivation is measured based on four main indicators, namely Self-Efficacy (SE), Interest and Enjoyment (IE), Connection to Daily Life (CDL), and Cross-Cultural Interactions (CCI), which are adapted from Ginzburg & Barak's research (2023). Data were collected by distributing questionnaires directly to students, and the data were analyzed using the Rasch model. The results showed that the motivation to learn science at MIN 3 Lampung Utara was in the high category, with an average percentage of motivation of 71.67%. The results of the analysis using the Rasch model show person reliability of 0.78 and item reliability of 0.85, which indicates that the instrument used has good consistency in measuring science learning motivation. Furthermore, an in-depth analysis of the four indicators showed that overall student motivation was high. However, the Connection to Daily Life (CDL) indicator, which reflects students' ability to connect science material with daily life, showed the lowest score compared to other indicators. This finding has important implications for educators and curriculum developers to improve the relevance of science learning to students' daily lives. Therefore, further research is needed to explore the factors that influence the low connection between science materials and students' daily life contexts.
