Abstract

This research involved X1 Grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah Batudaa with total number of students were 21 students. It consist of 9 male students and 12 female students of 2008/2009 academic years. Technique in collecting the data was observation. This research was a classroom action research and it was done during one semester as two cycles. The observation result of teacher activity in first cycle got excellent criteria as 72, 72 and good criteria as 27,27. While in second cycle, it was improved as 36 % reached excellent criteria and 64 % reached good criteria. Besides that, observation result of students in first cycle is students who got an excellent criteria was 57,13 % and good criteria was 42,85% while in second cycle it was improved, that is students who got an excellent criteria was 29% and good criteria was 71%. Students achievement in first cycle were 13 students or 61,905 got score more, than 6,9 and 8 students or 38,09% got score less than 6,9. while the students achievement in second cycle was improved. It was 18 students or 85,71% got score more than 6,9 and 3 student got score less than 6,9 with classical absorption was 71,42%.Based on that result above, the applications of question student have strategy in atom structure lesson can improve student achievement. There fore, the hypothesis in this research can be accepted.

Abstract

The research is classroom action research and conducted at students of XI class in SMA Negeri 1 Suwawa in 2008/2009 academics years. The sample was 26 students that consisted of 5 male students and 21 female students. The research aimed to improve students comprehension ability in solubility and solubility product concept through cooperative learning of Think-Pair-Share type. The research was had 2 cycles, in where there was an improving of teacher interaction in learning with average value as 3,27 (81,75%) in good category at first cycle and became 3,63 (90,75%) in excellent category at second cycle. In addition, there was an improving of students interaction with average value as 2,50 (62,5%) with enough criteria at first cycle and improved as 3,50 (80,75%) in excellent criteria at second cycle. Also, there was an improving of students achievement that was 62,5% at first cycle and improved to 88% at second cycle. Therefore, it showed that there was an improving of students comprehension ability in solubility and solubility product concept through Cooperative learning of Think-Pair-Share type. Hence, the hypothesis that stated, If in learning about solution and result times solution used cooperative learning of Think-Pair-Share type then students comprehension ability in XI class of SMA N 1 Suwawa can improve is accepted.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan suatu eksperimen laboratorium yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis protein yang terdapat dalam ikan Nike. Penetuan kadar protein yang dihitung adalah persen nitrogen total, kemudian dikalikan dengan faktor konversi, hingga didapat kadar protein kasar pada ikan Nike yang dianalisis. Penelitian ini dilanjutkan dengan melakukan identifikasi adanya asam amino melalui metode Kromatografi Kertas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan kadar protein pada ikan Nike dari hari pertama dan hari Terakhir kemunculannya. Kadar protein kasar pada ikan Nike hari pertama yaitu 2,7315 % sedangkan pada hari terakhir yaitu 4,083 %. Hasil identifikasi diduga di dalam ikan Nike terdapat asam-asam amino esensial yaitu Leusin, Isoleusin, Metionin dan Threonin.

Abstract

Hepatic chrrhosis is a chronic disease characterized by increasing formation of connective tissue that spread from portal spaces and also characterized by nodule formation. One of condition which becoming participating factor of hepatic chrrhosis is diabetes mellitus. Based on a data which is collected from medical record of hospital. In diabetes mellitus, it is most likely happened a disturbance of triacylglycerol metabolim. The increased accumulation of triacylglycerol in liver will be happened due to the imbalance between a formation of tryacylglycerol and a formation of VLDL. Another factor which can cause an abundant accumulation of tryacylglycerol is disturbance of the apoprotein formation, so that a VLDL formation is also disturbed. If that situation happens for a long time, the fatty liver is formed and finally hepatic chirrhosis can be happened.

Abstract

Konservasi berkelanjutan bagi kelelawar merupakan proses perlindungan satwa ini, tanpa mengurangi nilai ekonomi bagi Kelompok Masyarakat Pemanfaat. Menangkap kelelawar dihabitat utama, dengan merusak habitatnya, menyebabkan perkembangan satwa ini terganggu. Pengabdian ini bertujuan memberikan pemahaman kepada Kelompok Masyarakat Pemanfaat Kelelawar tentang, pembuatan Mist Net dan teknik penangkapan kelelawar yang berwawasan lingkungan. Metode pelaksanaan melalui pembinaan kelompok, dengan Model PRA. Kegiatan dilaksanakan didesa Olibu, Kecamatan Paguyaman Pantai, Kabupaten Boalemo, Provinsi Gorontalo. Kelompok mitra adalah Kelompok Pemanfaat Kelelawar yang berada di desa Olibuu. Mitra terdiri 2 (dua) kelompok:  Kelompok accerodon (1) dan Alecto (2), setiap kelompok  beranggotakan 10 orang. Pembinaan kelompok pemanfatat tentang pembuatan Mist Net kelelawar dan teknik penangkapan Kelelawar, dihasilkan Mist Net berukuran 20 x 8 m, ruang antar net/jarring: 5-7cm, dan tinggi tiang net sebagai penyangga 18-20 meter dan pegangan berdiameter 8-7 cm. Teknik penangkapan menggunakan Mist Net, dan ditempatkan pada jalur transek masuk kelelawar kedalam hutan manggrove. Waktu terbaik untuk penangkapan kelelawar di pukul 03.00-5.00 am dini hari

Abstract

Kerang darah (Anadara granosa) mengandung senyawa glikoprotein yang diperkirakan dapat berperan sebagai zat imunomodulator dengan aktivitas tinggi. Penelitian bertujuan mempelajari potensi kerang darah (Anadara granosa) dalam mekanisme sistem imun tikus (Rattus norvegicus) strain Spraque Dawley. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kimia Jurusan Kimia FMIPA Universitas Negeri Gorontalo dan Laboratorium Primata Bogor IPB selama periode Maret–Oktober 2015. Peranan itu dijelaskan melalui ekspresi imunoglobulin A (IgA) dan skor histologi rasio CD4+/CD8+ sel T mukosa usus secara imunohistokimia. Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental laboratorik dengan menerapkan randomized post test only control group design terhadap 30 ekor tikus yang dipilih secara simple random sampling. Sampel dibagi dalam lima kelompok: (i) kontrol normal; (ii) dan (iii) adalah sampel malnutrisi yang masing-masing mendapat perlakuan ransum nonprotein sebagai kontrol positif [K.kg(+)] dan ransum standar kasein 20% sebagai kontrol negatif [K.kg(−)]; serta (4) dan (5) adalah sampel malnutrisi yang mendapat perlakuan ransum protein kasein 10% yang dikombinasi dengan tepung kerang darah 10% [P.kg1] dan diberi ransum tepung kerang darah 20% [P.kg2]. Perlakuan terhadap subjek selama 45 hari. Kondisi malnutrisi (kadar albumin<2,7 g/dL) diperoleh dengan pemberian ransum nonprotein. Setelah perlakuan, tikus dinekropsi untuk pengambilan jaringan usus. Pemeriksaan IgA dan skor rasio CD4+/CD8+ sel T jaringan mukosa usus (jejunum dan ileum) dengan metode imunohistokimia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kerang darah berpotensi meningkatkan kadar IgA, meningkatkan skor histologi CD4+, dan menurunkan skor histologi CD8+ sehingga memengaruhi peningkatan skor rasio CD4+/CD8+ sel T jejunum dan ileum mukosa usus tikus malnutrisi. Simpulan, terdapat peningkatan jumlah ekspresi IgA pada jejunum maupun ileum mukosa usus kelompok yang diberikan suplementasi kerang darah lebih baik dibanding dengan kelompok tanpa diberi suplementasi. IGA EXPRESSION AND CD4+/CD8+ T CELL RATIO OF RAT INTESTINE MUCOSA AFTER ADMINISTRATION OF ANADARA GRANOSAAnadara granosa contains of glycoprotein that has high activity as immunomodulator. The research objective was to study Anadara granosa’s role on immune system mechanism of rats (Rattus norvegicus) Spraque Dawley strain that described by expression of immunoglobulin A (IgA) and histologic score ratio of CD4+/TCD8+ of intestinal mucosa. The study was held in Chemical Laboratory of Chemical Division of FMIPA Universitas Negeri Gorontalo and Laboratory Primata Bogor IPB during March–October 2015. The method was used experimental laboratory with randomized post test only control group design on 30 rats were selected by simple random sampling and divided into five groups: (1) normal controls, (2) and (3) were malnourished subjects to non-protein food as positive control [K.kg(+)], and food standard with casein 20% as negative control [K.kg(−)], (4) and (5) were malnourished subjects thas treated with casein protein diet 10% combined Anadara granosa flour 10% [P.kg1], and given Anadara granosa flour 20% [P.kg2]. The subjects were treated for 45 days. Malnourished condition (albumin<2.7 g/dL), obtained by non-protein diet. Final step, the samples were operated to get intestinal tissues. IgA examination and CD4+/CD8+ rasio of intestine’s mucosal tissues (jejunum and ileum) by immunohistochemically methods. The results showed that Anadara granosa could potentially increased IgA levels and capable to increase histology score of CD4+ and to decrease histology score CD8+. Increasing of CD4+/CD8+ ratio in jejunum and ileum of rats intestinal mucosa with malnourished after be administrated by Anadara granosa flour. In conclusion, IgA expression increased in jejunum and ileum mucosa of supplementation group is better than non-supplementation.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out characterization of a hydrolyzed fatty acid from moringa seeds oil (Moringa oleifera). Samples analyzed are dried and wet seeds which extracted through n-hexane to obtain oil. The extracted oil is analyzed for acid value and saponification value. Then, the hydrolysis of extracted oil with KOH solution and H2SO4 catalyst becomes free fatty acids, fatty acids analysis is then converted to be methyl ester using CH3OH solvent and H2SO4 as catalyst. This research uses gas chromatography mass spectrometry analysis, fatty acids of dried moringa seeds were lauric acid, paltoleic acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, and arachidic acid. Meanwhile, fatty acids of wet moringa seeds were paltoleic acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid, stearic acid, eicosanoid acid, arachidic acid, behenic acid, and lignoceric acid. The highest component of methyl ester on both moringa seeds are methyl oleate with each presentation is 38,08% and 38,84%Keywords: Moringa seeds, Fatty acid, GC-MSPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakterisasi asam lemak hasil hidrolisis biji kelor (Moringa oleifera) dengan metode kromatografi gas-spektroskopi massa. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah biji kelor kering dan basah. Sampel biji kelor diekstraksi menggunakan n-heksan untuk memperoleh minyak. Ditentukan bilangan asam dan bilangan penyabunan. Menghidrolisis minyak hasil ekstraksi dengan larutan KOH dan katalis H2SO4 menjadi asam lemak bebas, analisis asam lemak kemudian dikonversi menjadi metil ester dengan menggunakan pelarut CH3OH dan H2SO4 sebagai katalis. Penelitian ini menggunakan Kromatografi Gas-Spektroskopi Massa untuk mengidentifikasi asam lemak dalam sampel. Dari analisa Kromatografi Gas-Spektroskopi Massa yang telah dilakukan, asam lemak minyak biji kelor kering yang dihasilkan adalah asam laurat, asam palmitoleat, asam palmitat, asam oleat, asam stearat, dan asam arakidat. Sedangkan untuk asam lemak minyak biji kelor basah yang dihasilkan adalah asam palmitoleat, asam palmitat, asam oleat, asam stearat, asam eikosenat, asam arakidat, asam behenat, dan asam lignoserat. Dimana komponen terbesar metil ester pada biji kelor kering dan biji kelor basah adalah metil oleat dengan persentasi masing-masing 38,08% dan 38,84%.Kata Kunci: Biji Kelor, Asam Lemak, KG-SM

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik selulosa dari limbah kulit kacang tanah yang meliputi kadar air, kadar abu, dan kadar selulosa serta mengetahui berapa daya adsorpsi optimum kulit kacang tanah terhadap ion logam besi berdasarkan variasi massa, pH, dan waktu kontak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kulit kacang tanah. Tahap pembuatan selulosa dari kulit kacang tanah terdiri dari tahap dewaxing, delignifikasi dan bleaching. Karakterisasi selulosa menggunakan Instrument Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Aplikasi selulosa digunakan sebagai adsorben logam besi dengan menggunakan Atomic Absorption Spektrofotometri (AAS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selulosa yang diperoleh memiliki kadar abu sebesar 5,01%, kadar air 2,7%, kadar selulosa 59,58%. Hasil optimum untuk variasi massa adalah 1 gram dengan konsentrasi besi yang teradsorpsi adalah 0,7467 mg/L, untuk hasil optimum pada variasi pH adalah pH 5 dengan konsentrasi besi yang teradsorpsi adalah 0,8502 mg/L, dan untuk variasi waktu kontak paling optimum adalah 90 menit dengan konsentrasi besi yang teradsorpsi adalah 0,5386 mg/L.

Abstract

Chemistry learning has so far emphasized macroscopic and symbolic aspects as a result of misconceptions and students' low understanding of chemistry. This study aims to determine the influence of science process skill through guided inquiry model on student learning outcomes on acidic-basicsolution topic. The type of research is experimental research with Posttest-Only Control Design. Sampling was done by using Purposive Sampling technique. The sample of research for the experimental class and control class were 31 students, respectively. Data collection using objective test as an instrument that contains test about acidic acid material. Data analysis technique used to test the research hypothesis is t-test. Based on the statistical results obtained the average value of post-test experimental class is 58.55 while for the control class the average post-test value is 39.68. Result of data analysis for learning result show that in significant level 0,05 obtained tcount> t table  (6,22> 1,671),  then H0 rejected or accepted H1. Thus it can be concluded that there is the influence of process skills of science through guided inquiry model on student learning outcomes on acidic acid solution materials.The positive effects are also discussed in this study.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) model on students' creative thinking skills on the reaction rate topic. This quantitative research used true experimental design of pretest-posttest control. The samples used in this study were from 11th grade at SMA Negeri 1 Pinolosian. The experimental class sample was given treatment of the CTL learning model while the control class used conventional learning, respectively, were 31 and 30 students of 93 populations. Based on a questionnaire, students' creative thinking skills were obtained through observation during the learning process. The data analysis of the test instrument was carried out through a validity test using the product-moment correlation technique (significant level = 0.05), Lilliefors normality test, homogeneity of variance test and ttest. The CTL implementation questionnaire and instrument test data were converted into percentages and categorized. The results showed that the application of the CTL model had a positive effect on students' creative thinking abilities, evidenced by the average score of students in the experimental class before and after treatment increased from 14.55 to 74.84. Otherwise, in the control class, the scores were 30.59 to 33.56. The percentage of students' achievement in creative thinking aspects in the experimental class was good (61%-80%) while the control class was less good (21%-40%). The creative thinking abilities of both classes are very different, which is also reflected in the learning outcomes. The value of tcount (2.240) was greater than ttable (2.042) at the significant level = 0.05, and the hypothesis of H0 was rejected, or H1 was accepted. The application of the CTL learning model positively influenced students' creative thinking skills on the reaction rate material. Students' low originality abilities compared to fluency, flexibility, and elaboration abilities were also discussed.
