Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 mempunyai dampak besar terhadap pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Adapun dampaknya yaitu siswa kesulitan memahami materi matematika, guru kesulitan menjelaskan materi matematika kepada siswa, kurangnya penggunaan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis online, dan sebagian besar media pembelajaran berbasis online membutuhkan fasilitas jaringan yang memadai dan membutuhkan biaya yang tidak sedikit. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membantu meningkatkan pemahaman matematika sekolah dasar melalui aplikasi GeoGebra. Guru diberikan informasi terkait penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis online dengan bantuan aplikasi GeoGebra sehingga dapat mempermudah proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode pendekatan fungsional, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Pada awal pengabdian, kurang dari 10% guru yang mengetahui tentang aplikasi GeoGebra, namun setelah dilakukan pendampingan dan monitoring evaluasi menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan dan mencapai 92%. Para guru sangat antusias dan semangat dalam mengimplementasikan aplikasi GeoGebra dalam pembelajaran sesuai dengan materi dan tingkatan kelas yang diajarkan. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on learning mathematics in primary schools. The impact is that students have difficulty understanding mathematics material, teachers have difficulty explaining mathematics material to students, lack of use of online-based mathematics learning media, and most online-based learning media require adequate network facilities and cost a lot of money. Therefore, this service activity aims to help improve primary school mathematics understanding through the GeoGebra application. Teachers are given information regarding the use of online-based learning media with the help of the GeoGebra application so that it can facilitate the learning process. The method used is the method of functional approach, training, and mentoring. At the beginning of the service, less than 10% of teachers knew about the GeoGebra application, but after mentoring and monitoring evaluations showed significant results and reached 92%. The teachers were very enthusiastic and passionate about implementing the GeoGebra application in learning according to the material and class level being taught.

Abstract

Sekolah yang berada di daerah terpencil mempunyai masalah pendidikan yang kompleks, seperti terbatasnya tenaga guru, kondisi gedung tidak layak, akses jalan yang sulit bahkan kekurangan buku pelajaran. Riset ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan memperoleh gambaran mengenai pelaksanaan program Guru Garis Depan (GGD) serta desentralisasi pendidikan di SDN Pojok Klitih 3, Jombang, Jawa Timur. Riset ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif sehingga data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara menggunakan metode daring, dokumen serta studi dokumentasi. Data dianalisis melalui teknik triangulasi data, yaitu membandingkan antara hasil kajian melalui berbagai teknik untuk mencari jawaban atas permasalahan sejenis. Penyajian data merupakan hasil wawancara, dokumentasi, serta analisis dokumen yang berkaitan dengan program GGD melalui penyajian deskriptif pada hasilnya. Melalui GGD sangat diharapkan bisa memberikan bantuan kepada SDM berkualitas agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan terutama pada daerah Jombang meskipun ternyata belum merata. Pelaksanaan desentralisasi pendidikan di SDN Pojok Klitih 3, Jombang, Jawa Timur dikatakan cukup baik, demokratisasi sekolah berjalan sesuai prosedur. Diakibatkan masih kekurangan fasiliras serta pendanaan. Profesionalitas guru SDN Pojok Klitih 3, Jombang, Jawa Timur dapat dikatakan baik, ini terlihat berdasarkan beberapa kompetensi seperti personalitas, pedagogik, keprofesionalan serta kemasyarakatan. Desentralisasi pendidikan terhadap profesionalitas SDN Pojok Klitih 3, Jombang, Jawa Timur belum maksimal. Hal ini dapat berdasarkan kebutuhan diberikan motivasi, penghargaan, serta kesejahteraan melalui fasilitas yang mencukupi.

Abstract

Upaya dalam memperbaiki kualitas pendidikan dalam rangka mewujudkan sumber daya manusia yang unggul dan berkompeten, maka solusi yang ditawarkan adalah zonasi yakni kebijakan dalam penerimaan peserta didik baru dengan mempertimbangkan jarak terdekat sekolah dengan domisili tempat tinggal siswa. Kebijakan ini merupakan upaya pemerintah dalam pemerataan akses layanan pendidikan sekaligus kualitas pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan tentang penerapan kebijakan zonasi dalam perspektif orangtua dan sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan studi deskriptif. Data primer sebagai sumber data penelitian adalah orangtua siswa, sedangkan data sekundernya adalah kepala sekolah dan guru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui trianggulasi data dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perspektif orangtua yang menyekolahkan di SD terkait dengan penerapan zonasi masih belum maksimal dan banyak orangtua yang belum mengetahui secara detail aturan terbaru tentang kebijakan zonasi. Berdasarkan pemahaman orangtua, sistem zonasi merupakan kebijakan pemerintah yang menganjurkan anak bersekolah didasarkan pada jarak domisili yang terdekat dengan sekolah. Penerapan zonasi ini menunjukkan dampak negatif yang dirasakan oleh orangtua karena merasa kecewa dengan sistem zonasi ini sehingga tidak bisa bersekolah yang diinginkan bagi anak mereka. Namun, ada orangtua yang menunjukkan dampak positif dari sistem zonasi ini karena anak yang domisilinya terdekat dengan sekolah lebih diprioritaskan, menghemat biaya transport, dan sekaligus menghapus sekolah favorit. Harapan ke depan dari kepala sekolah, guru, dan orangtua adalah sistem zonasi yang sudah berjalan ini tetap dilanjutkan di jenjang sekolah dasar. Penerapannya harus didukung dengan peningkatan perluasan wilayah zonasi, kualitas pendidik, kualitas mutu layanan sekolah, sarana prasarana agar terwujud sekolah yang lebih maju.

Abstract

The lack of student participation in multiplication learning in elementary schools is still a challenge for educators. One approach that can be used to increase student engagement and understanding is gamification, which is the integration of game elements in the learning process. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of the use of Wordwall media in multiplication learning through a case study in grade III UPT SD Negeri 30 Gresik. The study highlights how the Multiplication Balloon Burst game can increase student engagement, as well as develop their critical thinking skills in solving math problems. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is collected through observation of classroom activities, interviews with teachers and students, and analysis of student participation during digital game-based learning. The results show that the use of Wordwall games significantly increases student motivation, creates a more interactive learning environment, and improves understanding of multiplication concepts. In addition, the findings indicate that the integration of gamification elements, such as the scoring system and in-game challenges, can encourage students to participate more actively and think critically in solving multiplication problems. This study concludes that the use of digital-based educational games in mathematics learning can be an effective alternative in improving student learning outcomes. Furthermore, the game also facilitates collaborative learning and assists students in developing critical thinking skills. Therefore, educators are advised to consider the application of gamification in their teaching strategies to improve student engagement as well as their learning outcomes in various other mathematical concepts.

Abstract

This literature review examines the effectiveness of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) in enhancing problem-solving skills among elementary students. The study is motivated by the persistent challenge of improving students' ability to apply mathematical concepts in real-world scenarios, a critical competency in primary education that traditional methods often fail to develop. The objective of the study is to analyze how numerous RME’s context-based approach studies impacts students' ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts in real-world scenarios. Method: Utilizing a systematic review of recent experimental and quasi-experimental studies, this study synthesizes findings from experimental and quasi-experimental research published in the past 10 years. Data were collected through structured searches in academic databases, followed by thematic analysis to compare the impact of RME and convetional mathematics instruction on student outcomes. Results Results indicate that RME consistently outperforms conventional methods, significantly improving students' problem-solving abilities by fostering a deeper understanding of math through relatable, real-life applications. RME’s emphasis on autonomy and critical thinking further contributes to student engagement and resilience, helping young learners approach complex problems with confidence and creativity. Novelty: The novelty of this review lies in its focus on elementary education, where RME's effectiveness is particularly impactful as it aligns with developmental learning stages. These findings highlight RME as a promising instructional model for strengthening foundational problem-solving skills, with implications for curriculum development and teacher training in primary education.

Abstract

Understanding mathematical concepts is an important foundation in education, which affects students' abilities in various fields of science. This study aims to identify research trends in understanding mathematical concepts from 2015 to 2024 through bibliometric analysis, mapping the main topics, methods, and significant results achieved. Using the Dimensions AI database, we collected and analyzed 450 publications with a descriptive analysis approach. VOSviewer and Microsoft Excel tools are used for collaborative network visualization, keyword analysis, and descriptive statistics. The results of the study show an increase in the number of publications and citations until 2022, with a decrease in 2023 and 2024. The most prolific writer is Nanang Supriadi, but Aan Putra has the greatest impact based on the number of citations. The most influential journal is Education at a Glance. The novelty keyword analysis identified key clusters, including technology use, STEM approaches, global education policy, teacher skills development, and mathematical literacy. In conclusion, this study provides a comprehensive overview of the development of mathematical concept understanding research, highlighting the importance of technology integration, STEM approaches, and teacher professional development to improve the quality of mathematics education in the future.

Abstract

School programs with extracurricular development based on traditional games are prepared to change students' habits in their motor skills. Traditional games are fun activities to form children's motor skills and also help improve children's intelligence. The purpose of this study is to explain the model of traditional game extracurricular activities that can improve students' character in terms of their talents and interests. The research method used is thematic qualitative research to thoroughly investigate a program using the Nvivo12 Software. The subjects of this research were the headmaster of the low grade coordinator, the high grade coordinator and the sports subject teacher. The resulting data processing results started from two questions about traditional games and character education to answer 2 themes and 8 sub-themes. The results of the study show that the Sekolahe Arek Suroboyo program based on traditional extracurricular games is implemented to create a safe, recreational, educative and cooperative school environment. Traditional game-based extracurriculars taught to students include egrang, gobak sodor and terompah. The game was chosen because it is a source of developing students' talents that are local wisdom by using basic body movements in children. The extracurricular activity model accommodates all students who choose traditional games from grades 1-6 by arranging a schedule after school hours are finished. The Sekolahe Arek Suroboyo program by implementing traditional games has a nationalist character, cooperation and independence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the creativity of an elementary school institution in establishing relationships with parents in overcoming the problems of facilities and infrastructure before and during the COVID-19 pandemic and post-pandemic. Completeness of facilities and infrastructure will support the achievement of learning objectives. This research is descriptive and qualitative with the subject of this research being SDN Kota Baru IX, Bekasi City. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation, and documentation with data analysis using triangulation. The results of this study reveal that online learning at SDN Kota Baru IX, Bekasi City does not experience difficulties, this is supported by the various creative ideas of teachers under the auspices of the PMPS (School Education Quality Assurance) team which is well coordinated with parents. Parents fully support online learning by providing various facilities such as wifi, android/ios-based cellphones, and laptops. Parenting education is the key to bridging communication with parents. This research implies that schools that have good cooperation with parents will have an impact on the success of school programs in dealing with various situations.
