Abstract

This research explores the role of Sidoarjo government in regulating the guidance and supervision of the management of traditional and modern markets. The reaserach uses descriptive-qualitative approach and attempts to answer two main questions, are:first, how is the implementation of the decree number 38 year 2012, concerning the business license of traditional and modern markets? Second, are there any infringements of the license committed by modern markets’ owners? The study has indicated that, in the implementation of local government’s regulations, there has been always a strong influence of the modern market. approval of the location permit has been always colored by gratification. Second, there are infringements of the decree committed by the owner of the modern markets with the absence of information dissemination to the small stallsas well as money politics shared to the citizens as their compensation.

Abstract

Research on the kinship analysis of endophytic bacterial  isolated from Gracillaria sp has been carried out. The presence of bacteria associated with Gracilaria sp. has enabled the use of these bacteria as a source of new bioactive compounds, such as biopigments. The research aims to isolated bacteria from Gracilaria sp., screened their symbiont bacteria that could potentially produce pigments. Sampling Gracilaria sp. conducted in the waters of the Island of  Karimunjawa, Jepara. Furthermore, bacterial isolation was carried out, screening for pigment-producing bacteria and 16S rRNA sequence analysis. Research result showed that the symbiont bacteria isolate TK 373 produced consistent pigments after several regenerations, in several types of growth media incubated at room temperature. The results of 16S rDNA identification showed that the TK 373 isolate had the closest relationship with  Pseudoalteromonas sp. with  98.72 % homology.

Abstract

Glutamic acid is an additive compound widely added to food to enhance the savory taste (umami). Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) are included in Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) and have the potential to produce various metabolite compounds, including glutamic acid, through fermentation. LAB can be isolated from salted mustard greens and dangke cheese. This study aimed to analyze the effect of LAB isolate types and fermentation time on the production of glutamic acid, glutamic acid profiling, and molecularly identify the LAB genus that produces the highest glutamic acid based on the 16S rRNA gene. The fermentation process of LAB was carried out using four selected isolates: D16, D15, S4, and S15, which were isolated from salted mustard greens and dangke cheese. Each isolate was incubated for five different incubation times: 0, 12, 24, 48, and 72 h. The identification of glutamic acid was carried out using the Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method, its quantification by spectrophotometry, and profiling by High-Performance Liquid Chroma-tography (HPLC). In addition, molecular identification of the highest-producing LAB isolate was conducted based on the 16S rRNA gene. The results showed that isolate S4 from salted mustard greens produced the highest glutamic acid after 48 h, with 670.05 mg/L and a total glutamic acid of 0.23% (w/w) based on HPLC results. Isolate S4 is known to be molecularly similar to the Pediococcus pentosaceus species. Local LAB isolates from salted mustard greens and dangke cheese can produce glutamic acid that can be used to enhance the taste of fermented foods.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of cultural poverty in the Kedu Raya Region by examining the effects of Minimum District/City Wage, Life Expectancy, Average Years of Schooling, and Dependency Ratio on the number of poor people. Using panel data from six districts/cities in Kedu Raya from 2015 to 2024, the analysis was conducted through a log-linear panel regression model. The results show that the city minimum wage has a negative and significant effect on poverty levels, indicating that higher minimum wages help reduce poverty. Average Years of Schooling also has a negative and significant effect, emphasizing the crucial role of education in shaping economic behavior and reducing cultural poverty. In contrast, life expectancy and dependency ratio exhibit positive but insignificant effects. Simultaneously, all variables collectively influence poverty levels in the region. These findings highlight that improving education, enhancing health quality, and implementing appropriate wage policies can effectively reduce cultural poverty and support sustainable human development in the Kedu Raya Region.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to describe the Canva application as an interactive medium for learning. The research method used is the literature review research method, namely comparing data from several journals, which have been analyzed and summarized based on the author's experience, existing theories, and models. The results show that Canva, as a graphic design application, plays a crucial role in learning by facilitating teacher creativity and developing communicative learning media. With a simple interface and complete editing features, Canva makes it easy for teachers to create various learning materials, from posters to videos. However, Canva has some drawbacks, such as paid features and limitations of the free version. The solution is Canva Pro Education with email Belajar.id, providing free access to premium features. With various templates, Canva is an effective tool for improving the quality of learning and supporting teacher creativity. Examples of interactive learning media, such as student worksheets, learning videos, PowerPoint presentations, and educational game cards, can be easily created via Canva. In this way, Canva positively contributes to creating exciting and varied learning.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model concept and its implementation in the Independent Curriculum in elementary schools. The research method used is the literature review research method, namely comparing data from several journals, which have been analyzed and summarized based on the author's experience, existing theories, and models. This research shows that Problem-Based Learning is a learning approach that emphasizes solving meaningful problems for students. PBL engages students in authentic problem-solving, enabling the collaborative development of high-level knowledge and skills. The goal is to create contextual and relevant learning experiences to prepare students with problem-solving skills that can be applied in real life. Implementing PBL involves five main steps: 1) student orientation to the problem. 2) Organizing students. 3) Guiding individual and group investigations. 4) Develop and present the results of the work. 5) Analysis and evaluation of the problem-solving process. Although PBL has advantages, such as increasing student motivation and building critical skills, it also has disadvantages related to dependence on the teacher's role and challenges in managing classrooms with diverse students. Thus, PBL prepares students with knowledge and forms students into individuals who are ready to face the challenges of daily life and the future. It is very relevant to the independent curriculum.
