Abstract

Abstract— An induction motors (IM) in many industries is used because it has several advantages, such as a very simple and strong construction, the price is relatively cheap, has good efficiency, power factor is quite good, and maintenance is easier. Besides the advantages of induction motors also have disadvantages, one disadvantage of induction motors is not being able to maintain a constant speed when there is a change in load. If the load changes, the speed of the induction motor will decrease. One method of regulating the speed of an induction motor presented in this study is the regulation of an induction motor using a carrier based PWM (CBPWM) inverter with the field oriented control (FOC) technique. The estimation of rotor rotation, torque and flux is done by carrier- based PWM technique which is given input voltage and stator current. To achieve the desired flux and torque, estimation is used as feedback in the control system. In this study, it will be simulated the induction motor speed regulation with a carrier base-based inverter using Matlab. The results obtained through simulation show the length of time to reach the reference speed for speeds of 1500 rpm and 1450 rpm is around 0.45 seconds. And THD average 2,675%.

Abstract

Wind is a natural resource that has many benefits for human life, for example, wind can be used to generate electricity, namely the wind power plant, for aircraft navigation purposes during takeoff and landing, as well as for aerospace sports such as paragliding, parasailing and aeromodeling. The existence of wind can also be detrimental to mankind, such as the existence of extreme weather that allows hurricanes, rainstorms, floods and landslides and high sea waves. This study expects to design a prototype tool monitoring system for wind speed and wind vane based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using the Raspberry Pi 3 model B+ as a data processor that can give data abouttwind speed and direction of the wind in realtime and can be accessed remotely when connected to the internet network. Test data read from the sensors displayed on the LCD 16 x 2 and sent to the web server using a router with the goal that it tends to be monitored online by the user with an internet connection. Wind speed data is read in rotations per minute (rpm) and wind direction data can detect up to 16 wind directions. The conclusion of this study is that the based wind speed and wind direction monitoring system Internet of Things (IoT) using Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ can work properly. Wind speed and wind course information are stored in a database, which can be accessed on web the Telegram in realtime. Data transmission of wind speed and wind directions takes place every 1 minute.

Abstract

Micro-hydro power plants using vortex turbines have the advantage that their operation can be carried out at low levels of falling water or head. One of the problems that exist in vortex turbine is there is no equation to determine the maximum output generated by the number of blades used. Based on the problems described, a prototype of micro-hydro power plants using vortex was made to test the variations in the number of blades to get the best efficiency. The prototype test in this study used a turbine with various number of blades of 3, 5, and 9 blades. Based on the research conducted, the increase of micro-hydro power plant prototype performance equals to number of blades used. When the system was set with a discharge of 4.5 liters per second paired with a turbine consisted of 9 blades which produced 303.8 rpm of turbine rotation before coupled by the generator and 230.5 rpm after coupled by the generator, the generator rotation was 653.5 rpm, the generator output voltage was 8.29 Volts, generator current output was 0.046, generator power output was 0.387 Watt, torque was 0.0393 Nm, and the highest efficiency was 2.92%

Abstract

Vortex turbine is a reaction water turbine that can utilize energy from low headed waterway. The power output of generator on microhydro power plant will differ depend on the input parameters used, such as water flow rates. Hence, this research goal is to find out the power output of generator from various water flow rates with an artificial waterway on a vortex turbine within the microhydro power plant prototype. This research consist a free variable of water flow rates of 2,5 l/s, 3,5 l/s, and 4,5 l/s using 9 blades turbine and paralel load lamps. From the experiment, raises of water flow rate is proportional to the increase of generator’s power output. The power output generated by each water flow rates used are 0,085 W at 2,5 l/s water flow rate, 0,256 at 3,5 l/s, and 0,387 at 4,5 l/s. Based on the experiment, it can be concluded that the increase of input water flow rate is equal to the increase of the power output generated by the generator. It is caused by the rotation of the turbine will be adjusted by the water flow rate used.

Abstract

MHPP is a run of river hydroelectric power plant type, that does not require a large dam or water discharge, but rather diverts the flow rate of water into a channel. Vortex turbine utilizes whirlpool of water obtained from the spiral basin shape to push the turbine to rotate. The reason of this research was to decide the design of the MHPP prototype using a vortex turbine. This prototype is a miniature or laboratory scale. This research is designed to model the MHPP prototype using a Vortex turbine which is helpful for learning before it is implemented directly to the river. In this study, the prototype MHPP with vortex turbine was designed with a 0.3 m head, 1.5 dim input pipe, 4.5 L/s water flow, basin with an upper diameter of 40 cm, 40 cm height and 12 cm outlet and 41° cone angle. The runner blade design has 9 blades with a runner outer diameter of 15 cm, 5 cm neck diameter, and 5 cm runner width. This prototype is able to generate power of 0.387 Watt and has an efficiency of 2.93%.

Abstract

The aquarium monitoring system in the maintenance of ornamental fish is fundamental to maintaining the survival of the aquatic biota in it. In this study, a prototype of a water condition monitoring system such as turbidity and water temperature in freshwater ornamental fish aquariums was designed and integrated with IoT technology so that it could make it easier for ornamental fish owners to maintain freshwater ornamental fish remotely. In the prototype tool, there is a turbidity sensor SEN0189, a temperature sensor DS18B20, and an HC-SR04 sensor, which function to measure changes that occur in each parameter. Each sensor data will be processed by the Arduino Uno microcontroller, which is then sent to the NodeMCU ESP8266 (Wi-Fi module) via serial communication so that sensor data readings can be displayed on the Blynk application. As a result of the tests, the system can monitor the turbidity of the water and drain the water if the turbidity reaches >= 25 NTU and refill the aquarium with clean water. In addition, the system can also monitor and control the water temperature in the aquarium. The aquarium water temperature level is maintained in the range of 24°C – 28°C.

Abstract

Over time, the development of technology is very rapid. It is certainly inseparable from the role of networks that can connect devices to be able to exchange information. Therefore, there is a need to secure computer networks to prevent cyber crime. The most commonly used attacks are Port Scanning and DoS (Denial Of Service). There are various ways to secure a computer network, one of which is by Switching port security. In addition to using Switch port security, the technique for securing network crimes is to use the De-Militarized Zone (DMZ). This study aims to compare network security performance with the Port security and DMZ methods where the tests obtained based on the review literature concluded that the use of the DMZ method carries out security by filtering requests by clients through firewall routers while Port security can provide security to the network by providing access to the server to registered ports only.

Abstract

Aquaponics is one of the methods of farming in urban areas that produces fish and vegetables at the same time. One aspect that can improve the quality of aquaponics products such as catfish and water spinach in a short period of time is the addition of Internet of Things (IoT) systems. This technology allows farmers to automate work and monitor aquaponics media remotely. Before applying this technology, it is necessary to analyze to what extent each aquaponics system improves the quality of fish and vegetables. The purpose of this study is to compare the productivity of materials needed to grow catfish and water spinach in IoT-based aquaponics and conventional aquaponics. The parameters studied to support the results of the analysis are fish weight and vegetable weight after 14 days. The results show that the weight of fish and vegetables produced by IoT aquaponics is heavier than that produced by conventional aquaponics, which leads to a higher number of production units. It makes the IoT aquaponics productivity percentage value greater with a productivity difference of 112%, which indicates that the IoT aquaponics system manages the required materials more efficiently in a short period of time.

Abstract

Implementing an audit process is one way to raise the quality of both products and processes. Detecting the presence of waste is one of the audit procedures that can be used. Waste is a behavior in and of itself that adds no value. Lean is the auditing technique used to find waste. Lean primarily focuses on identifying and removing non-value-added activities. Lean has a mechanism for identifying waste in its implementation, and that method is the Waste Assessment Model (WAM). In the Planning Section of the Planning and Finance Bureau of Udayana University, the application of WAM is concentrated on planning to identify waste in the budget process utilizing the SILUNA system. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows: defect is the largest waste with a proportion of 19,79%; inventory are the second sequence of waste with a proportion of 16,35%. Abstract

These days technology has developed rapidly, almost covering all aspects in humas life for example is automation system. The automation system works without human intervension and complete all works independently. Existing technology can already be connected to each other via the internet network so that it can transmit or receive data automatically. The Internet of Things (IoT) can support automated systems by providing real-time information so that users can monitor the performance of these automated systems. This research was to develop rabbit cage by utilizing microcontroller as monitoring system. The system utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) as monitoring medium between users and devices to help users monitor their rabbit cage remotely. The design installed several sensors such as ultrasonic, temperature, load cell sensors, DS18B20 and water level sensors. This research used Arduino Mega 2560 as main microcontroller and NodeMCU ESP8266 as communication device between the tools and database. The tools use android application on user smartphone that fuctions real time monitoring for the cage. Based on the results of this research by using Arduino Mega as microcontroller board to controlling and monitoring rabbit’s cage has succesfully in monitoring the cage via internet through the NodeMCU ESP8266 intermediary according to the design.
