Abstract

The Effect of Maja Fruit (Aegle marmelos) on Mortality of Pests of Mas Conch (Pomacea canaliculata L.) on Rice Plants inpari variety 32 The golden snail (Pomaceae canaliculata L.) is one of the important pests of rice plants. This pest attack can cause yield loss of 40% - 70% in agricultural crops. This pest also has a wide spread rate in various regions in Indonesia. The control of the golden snail in this study uses maja fruit extract which contains chemical compounds Alkaloids, saponins and tannins that are toxic to pests. This research was carried out starting from August 4 to Septmbr 3, 2021. This study aimed to determine the effect of maja fruit extract on the mortality of the golden snail (Pomaceae canaliculata L.) pest on rice plants. The experimental design used was RAK with 6 treatment concentrations, namely control, 10ml, 20ml, 30ml, 40ml, 50ml. maja fruit extract and repeated 4 times. Observations show that the higher the concentration used, the higher the content of toxic compounds that can lead to higher mortality in gold snails. The highest gold snail mortality was at a concentration of 50 ml, the lower the concentration used, the higher the percentage of damage to rice plants. The highest percentage of damage to rice plants was in the 0 treatment with a percentage of 100%.

Cocoa is one of the export commodities from the plantation subsector which is a national superior commodity, Cocoa is one of the export commodities from the plantation subsector which is a national superior commodity. Cocoa development in Indonesia is inseparable from a variety of problems encountered from the upstream to downstream sectors. Some problems in the upstream sector include plant productivity is still low, as well as the presence of pests and diseases. Species diversity can be used to express community structures. Measures of diversity and their causes cover most of the thoughts about ecology. In biodiversity it always includes ecosystems, species diversity and genetics. In biodiversity, the diversity of insect species is included. Insects are a group of dominant organisms in the biosphere in the form of land. In terms of quantity, the existence of insects is vital to maintaining the balance of natural ecosystems. This is mainly because diversity can produce stability and thus relate to cocoa development centers in Tabanan. The purpose of this study is 1). Knowing insect and weed biodiversity in Cocoa plantations in the Old Marga Tabanan Village 2) Mapping the Agroecosystem in Cocoa plantations to support the sustainability of cocoa cultivation in the Old Marga Tabanan village. This research is expected to find the condition of the cocoa plantation biodiversity in developing various biophysical, social and economic aspects in Tabanan Regency. Important contributions can be given, namely: (a) Results of biodiversity studies on cocoa plantations, (b) Increased understanding of cocoa plantation ecosystems and (c) Improving environmental conditions and improving cocoa production.

Abstract

One of new biotic constraints in corn production in Indonesia is leaf blight disease caused by Pantoea sp. which is needed to be controlled. The purpose of this research is to study the potential of Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas sp. as biological control agents against corn leaf blight caused by Pantoea sp. The results showed that all bacterial strains of Bacillus sp. and Pseudomonas sp. have potential in inhibiting the growth of Pantoea sp. by showing the clear zone on the agar plate. The antibiosis types are bactercide or bacteriostatic. On pot experiment all bacterial strains showed the reduction of the disease incidence at the same level compared with that of bactericide streptomycin suphate. All bacterial strains as well as bactericide could reduce the disease incidence at 18-24% compared with that of control (aquades treatment only). The results suggest that all bacterial strains are potential as biological control agent against leaf blight disease on corn leaf caused by Pantoea sp.Keywords: Biological control, Bacillus sp., Pseudomonas sp. and Pantoea sp.
