Abstract

The entry of Avian Influenza (AI) to Indonesia in 2003 gave a tremendously negative impact on poultrybusinesses. Biosecurity is one of the government efforts to protect the spread of infectious diseases to the farms.It gets a good response from all the stakeholders in the poultry industry. Although there are no Avian Influenzaoutbreaks anymore, control to the Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) is still becoming a main priority incontrolling diseases in the poultry farms. This research was conducted to evaluate the sustainability of biosecurityimplementation in the broiler farms and mentored requirement to prevent AI outbreaks from occurring again.A survey was used to gain information on broiler famers at Selanbawak Village. The samples in this study wereall the farmers who were involved in the ACIAR project AH/2006/169. They had been trained and supervised toimplement biosecurity measures in their farms. The data obtained were descriptive-qualitatively analyzed usingpercentage approach based on the biosecurity implementation criteria. It was found that the biosecurity measuresimplemented by those farmers had not been maintained. Most of the farms were untidy; and rubbishes and busheswere scattered around the farms. The footbath was not properly used as sanitary equipment, and even some wereburied with cement.

Abstract

“Betutu chicken” (whole chicken) is traditional Balinese food. Originally was cooked for ritual offerings, but recently this food was one of the menu in hotels or restaurants in Bali. Research was carried out using completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 different packaging treatment, such as treatment one was using alumunium foil, treatment too using banana leaf and alumunium foil and treatment three using “Upih” and alumunium foil. Whole chicken was squeezed with salt and tamarin, and then wash with water. Put into the cavity of the chicken all spices and ½ glass of cooking oil, close the cavity and wrap up according to the treatment then cooked in the live coal for (8 – 11) hours. After cooked and then stored at 50 C. the organoleptic test showed that this product keep for 7 days in 50 C still can safe and excepted by the consumen with organoleptic score between 6.0 – 7.0 in overall. Objective test showed that (p<0.05) for 3 treatment to pH (6.2 – 6.4), water content (44 – 48)%, water holding capacity 68 – 70% and total aerobic count 4.503 – 5.041 cfu/g.   Keywords: Betutu chicken, Alumunium foil, “Upih”, Banana Leaf, Storage 50 C

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas kambing gembrong yang terancam punah melaluisuplementasi multi vitamin-mineral dalam ransum berbasis hijauan lokal. Penelitian dilakukan di SentraPenangkaran di desa Tumbu Kab. Karangasem Bali menggunakan 10 ekor kambing gembrong yang sedangtumbuh. Ada dua perlakuan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu ransum kontrol berbasis hijauan lokal tanpasuplementasi dan ransum berbasis hijauan lokal dengan suplementasi multi vitamin-mineral. Peubah yang diamatimeliputi konsumsi nutrien ransum, sintesis protein mikroba rumen, pertambahan berat badan, dan efisiensipemanfaatan ransum (feed Conversion Ratio = FCR). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji T pada probabilitas5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi vitamin dan mineral berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05)terhadap konsumsi bahan kering, protein kasar, lemak kasar, serat kasar dan energi ransum, tetapi suplementasivitamin dan mineral nyata (P<0,05) meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatan ransum (nilai FCR lebih rendah) danmeningkatkan pertambahan bobot hidup ternak sebesar 17,81%. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwasuplementasi vitamin dan mineral dalam ransum berbasis hijauan lokal dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatanransum dan pertambahan bobot hidup kambing gembrong sebesar 17,81%. Abstract

Infant and Child Feeding is one of the government's programs aimed at reducing child mortality rates and improving the quality of life for mothers. According to survey data from the Kintamani IV Public Health Center, there is still a prevalence of undernourished toddlers in Banjar Beluhu, Desa Suter, at 32.78%, which is attributed to the lack of maternal knowledge about Infant and Child Feeding. The objective of this study is to determine the effect of health education on maternal knowledge regarding Infant and Child Feeding for children aged 6-24 months in Banjar Beluhu, Desa Suter, Kecamatan Kintamani, Kabupaten Bangli. This type of research is experimental with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. A pre-test was administered before the health education session, followed by a post-test. The analysis used was the Paired t-test. Knowledge before the health education showed 17% in the moderate category, while 83% were in the low category. After the health education, 55% were in the good category, and 45% were in the moderate category. The Paired t-test indicated a significant effect on maternal knowledge before and after the health education on infant and child feeding (p 0.05).

Abstract

This research evaluated the growth pattern of  Taro white cattle by estimating the relationship between body dimensions by measuring 18  Taro white cattle periodically every two weeks for three months. Body dimensions measured were body weight (BW), body length  (BL), chest circumference (CC), body height (BH), hip height (HH), and hip width (HW). The measured data were analyzed descriptively, and to estimate the relationship between body dimensions, Multiple Linear Regression analysis was used, followed by Step Wise. The results showed that the average body dimensions of  Taro white cattle were: BW:183.61 ± 25.92 kg; BL: 113.36 ± 7.13 cm; CC: 143.93 ± 6.61 cm; BH: 109.79 ± 3.92 cm; HH: 108.68 ± 4.58 cm and HW: 32.96 ± 2.33 cm. Body weight (BW) as an indicator of the growth of  Taro white cattle has genuine multiple linear relationships with BL, CC, BH, HH, and HW with the equation BW = 1.23BL + 2.29 CC - 0.24 BH + 0.11 HH + 1.97 HW – 336.63 with a coefficient of determination (R2) = 0.78. Then step-wise, a new regression equation is obtained: BW = 1.42 BL + 2.50 CC – 338.03 with a coefficient of determination (R2) = 0.80. The conclusion is the estimation of body weight as an indication of Taro white cattle growth can be best carried out by utilizing body length and chest circumference as estimating variables.

Abstract

Sere kedele merupakan makanan tradisional khas Bali dan terbuat dari hasil fermentasi kedelai secara alami yang potensial untuk dikembangkan. Seperti hasil fermentasi kedelai lainnya, sere kedele kaya akan zat gizi, namun karena aromanya yang sangat tajam kurang sehingga kurang begitu dimanfaatkan. Pengolahan sere kedele perlu dikombinasikan dengan pangan lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai daya terima, dan menguji kandungan gizi formula sere kedele yang dikombinasikan dengan bonggol pisang. Formulasi sere kedele dan bonggol pisang dengan 5 jenis formula. Kandungan gizi diuji menggunakan metode HPLC, dan daya terima menggunakan uji hedonik yang melibatkan 30 panelis. Perbedaan daya terima antar formula dianalisis dengan Uji ANOVA. Semua formula sere kedele dan bonggol pisang pada produk sate dan tum disukai oleh panelis. Formula yang paling disukai untuk sate adalah F1 dengan komposisi sere kedele dan bonggol pisang 3:1 dengan angka hedonik 3,80, sedangkan produk tum yang paling disukai adalah adalah F3 dengan perbandingan sere kedele dan bonggol pisang 1:1 dengan angka hedonik 3,97.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable cardiovascular disease. The estimated incidence of hypertension in Indonesia in 2018 was 63,309,620 people, with a mortality rate of 427,218. Hypertension can be caused by excessive sodium and fat intake. The purpose was to determine the relationship between sodium and fat intake with blood pressure in hypertensive patients treated in the outpatient department of Internal Medicine at Bangli Regional General Hospital. This research applied a descriptive analytic study conducted in the Internal Medicine Polyclinic of Bangli Regional General Hospital in April-May 2024. The sample consisted of 30 individuals, using purposive sampling. The relationship between variables was analyzed by Spearman's Rank. Sodium intake showed that 18 samples (60%) were classified as good and 12 samples (40%) as excessive. Meanwhile, fat intake showed that 17 samples (56.7%) were classified as good and 13 samples (43.3%) as excessive. Blood pressure examination results showed that 13 samples (43.3%) were hypertensive, and 17 samples (56.7%) controlled blood pressure. The analysis showed a relationship between sodium intake and blood pressure (p = 0.000) and between fat intake and blood pressure (p = 0.031). Monitoring and evaluating the consumed nutrients at home and educating on diet provision for outpatient patients need enhancement.

Abstract

Obesity is one of the nutritional problems caused by the accumulation of fat in the body and the consumption of food that exceeds the needs. Consumption of various types of snacks containing high sugar and high fat and lack of physical activity affect the incidence of obesity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between snacks consumption patterns and physical activity with obesity in adolescents at SMPN 1 Kuta. This type of research is observational with a cross sectional design conducted in December 2022 which amounted to 90 people by simple random sampling. Data on snacks consumption patterns were collected through interviews with the SQ-FFQ form. Physical activity data using the PAQ-C questionnaire. Data analysis in the form of the relationship between snack consumption patterns and physical activity with obesity using the Pearson correlation test. There is a relationship between the type of snack consumption and obesity (p=0.000). There is a relationship between frequency of snack consumption and obesity (p=0.004). There is a relationship between energy snacks with obesity (p=0.000) and there is a relationship between physical activity with obesity (p=0.000). It is recommended that schools and parents pay more attention to the selection of snacks consumed and conduct regular monitoring of nutritional status in school adolescents.

Abstract

Keberhasilan pelayanan gizi dikaitkan dengan daya terima pasien terhadap makanan dengan mengamati sisa makanan. Pengolahan protein nabati bentuk makanan lunak yang cenderung direbus dapat mempengaruhi sisa makanan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui hubungan tingkat penerimaan protein nabati dengan sisa makanan pasien di ruang rawat inap RSUD Kabupaten Buleleng. Jenis penelitian yaitu observasional dengan rancangan cross sectional. Besar sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 50. Data tingkat penerimaan protein nabati dikumpulkan dengan wawancara menggunakan bantuan form uji hedonic yang diolah dengan pemberian skor 1-3. Data sisa makanan dikumpulkan dengan food weighing dengan cara pengolahan menghitung selisih berat awal dikurangi berat akhir dibagi berat awal dikali 100%, kategori banyak jika 20% dan sedikit jika 20%. Analisis yang digunakan yaitu Chi Square dengan pendekatan rata-rata. Tingkat penerimaan pasien terhadap menu protein nabati sebagian besar tergolong “agak suka” (96%). Terdapat 4 menu (23,5%) dengan penilaian “tidak suka”, 7 menu (41,2%) “agak suka” dan  6 menu (35,3%) “suka”. 98% sampel memiliki sisa makanan banyak. Terdapat 11 menu (64,7%) tergolong sisa banyak, 6 menu (35,3%) tergolong sisa sedikit. Terdapat hubungan signifikan antara tingkat penerimaan protein nabati dengan sisa makanan (p = 0,002) dan terdapat hubungan signifikan antara tingkat kesukaan menu protein nabati dengan sisa makanan (p = 0,001).

Abstract

Background: Various health and nutritional issues for adolescents in Bali require serious attention, such as obesity, malnutrition, and anemia.  The  efforts to prevent these health problems   are  needed through the adolescent  Posyandu  (Integrated Health  Care)  programObjective: The goal of this activity was to empower Seka Teruma Teruni as Posyandu cadres to address their health issues effectively.Method: The target was  Seka Teruna Teruni in Kesiman Kertalangu village, totaling 30 people, taken purposively in 6 banjars. The activity was carried out from June to October 2025. The activity was carried out through education and training in managing adolescent posyandu. The knowledge and skills of cadres were measured using questionnaires and skill checklists.Result:  The target group was 30 members of the Teena Teruni Youth Group), 63.3% of whom were female, 50.0% aged 15-18, with the highest education level being high school, and 26.7% were employed. Knowledge was measured before and after training at 79.33 and 91.66, respectively, with an increase of 15.5%. Skills, as measured, also increased by 9.16%.Conclusion:  Empowering cadres through education and knowledge can improve their skills and enable them to become Adolescent Integrated Health  cadres.
