Abstract

Stunning electricity current of 1.0 A, 200 – 300 V were caused the destruction of cattle’s centralnerve. This is very important to drain blood as much as possible from the whole body. Thiscauses its beef not become a media of unexpected microorganism to develop theirself.In themodern age right now, electricity is needed much for living on the earth or outer space. In otherwords, live is much depend on it. Indonesia is a tropical and agricultural country with highhumidity. These are good media for microorganism to develop theirself i.e. in aerobic conditionsuch as Pseudomonas, Achromobacter (induce rancidity in), Strepcococcus, Leuconostoc,Bacillus (causes mucus on beef surface), Lactobaccillus (causes the changes of beef colour fromred to greenish), Photobacterium (causes phosphorescent). anaerobic codition Achromobacterand Proteus cause sour taste. The beef or other food stuff become spoiled fast if they are notpreserved in low temperatureIt is necessary to control the room temperature. The objectives ofthis study were to know and open insight about physiological works of electricity in order toprovide healthy beef as a source of animal protein to form a bright nation. The beef can bepreserved more than 30 days without decreasing its hygiene level in the temperature of 5 – 7oC.At these low temperatures the microorganism mentioned above can delayed their growth anddevelopment.

Abstract

The short course of improving broiler performances with more comfortable cage was conducted on September 25th. 2009 in Bolangan village, Tabanan regency. There were 15 local farmers and 18 SMK No1. Katiku Tanah, Sumbawa students as participants of this activity. The teams presented about (1) animal comfort zone, (2) cage modifications, (3) heat transfer between animal and environment and (4) energy protein ration. Based on the limited discussion, it could be seen that participants were very enthusiastic in joining this activity. They used this occasion for making discussion with the concerned team from Udayana University.

Abstract

Petani peternak di Desa Kesiut, Kecamatan Tabanan, Kabupaten Tabanan memelihara kelinci secaratradisional dengan memberikan rumput sebagai pakan dasar dan sedikit konsentrat sebagai pakantambahan. Pelatihan singkat tentang teknik pembuatan pakan dalam bentuk pellet ini telahdilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2014, bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan pakan pellet, menurut standarkebutuhan nutrisi kelinci. Pelatihan singkat ini didukung oleh Dinas Peternakan Tabanan dan ProgramPasca Sarjana Universitas Udayana. Pelatihan ini memperkenalkan luas lantai kandang optimum danformulasi ransum kelinci dalam bentuk pakan pellet. Terdapat 18 peternak lokal dan 9 istripeternak,dan 5 ketua kelompok peternak desa kesiut. Team mempresentasikan tentang , (1) KebutuhanNutrisi Kelinci, (2) Prospek kelinci, (3) Imbangan energi dan protein,(4) Penyakit kelinci dan (5)teknik pembuatan pakan dalam bentuk pellet. Petani peternak bisa mengerti tentang materi yangdisampaikan dan tertarik dalam pembuatan pakan pellet. Pada akhir diskusi, kita bisa melihatpartisipasi dan antusiasme dalam menjalankan kegiatan. Mereka menggunakan kesempatan ini untukmembuat diskusi dengan team dari Universitas Udayana.

Abstract

The community service was conducted in Jungutan Village, Karangasem Regency and was aimed to improvethe farmers knowlegde especially the members of farmers groups about the utilization of leguminose forage asbasal ration for ruminant. The services was conducted on Sunday, 2nd September 2012 at Wana Sari Groups ofFarmers at Banjar Untalan, Jungutan Village, and attended by 20 from 24 total members of farmers’ groups(83.33%). The methods used were direct instruction and discussion to the farmers. Almost 43% members offarmers’ groups have been given leguminose besides grass and 57% only given grass as Bali cattle feed. The resultof the services showed that the farmer’s awareness and knowlegde improved to give leguminose forage such asGliricidia sepium, Caliandra callothyrsus, and Leucaena leucochepala, besides grass feeding as basal ration forBali cattle. The utilization of forage need to be applied because of high energy and protein content in leguminoseforage, therefore the dry matter consumption will improve. The nutrient requirement could fulfill and will impactto the improvement of Bali cattle growth and production.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan pada kelompok ternak sapi bali, yaitu salah satu kelompok ternakyang berlokasi di Desa Pengotan, Bangli. Anggota kelompok ternak merupakan masyarakat Pengotan,Bangli. Umumnya mereka adalah petani peternak dengan kepemilikan lahan yang rendah. Selama ini,pengetahuan tentang manajemen pemeliharaan ternak yang efisien dan produktif anggota kelompok masihrendah. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan penerapan manajemen perencanaanyang efisien dan produktif pada kelompok ternak sapi di Desa Pengotan, Bangli. Hasil kegiatanmenunjukkan bahwa setelah dilaksanakan kegiatan sosialisasi dan pelatihan, ternyata pengetahuan danketrampilan peserta tentang manajemen yang efisien meningkat sebesar 30,25% lebih tinggi dibandingkandengan sebelum kegiatan dilaksanakan.

Abstract

Farmers in Riang Gede village, Tabanan District, Tabanan regency generally raise rabbits traditionally by providing grass field as basic feed and concentrate supplementation very minimum. Short course on diet manufacturing techniques in the form of pellets was performed in Juni 2014, aims to introduce the feed pellets, according to the rabbit nutrient requirements standard. Short course was suported by Tabanan Departement of Animal Production and Animal Sciense Post Gradute Program, Udayana University. This training introduces fermented of coffee leather as rabbit diet formulation in pellet form. There were 18 local famers and 9 farmer’s wife and 5 Riang Gede community leaders. The teams presented about (1) Rabbit nutrient requirment, (2) Prospect of rabbit, (3) energy and protein balance, (4) rabbit desease dan (4) diet manufacturing techniques in the form of pellets. Farmers can understand the course material and interested in creating a diet in the form of pellets. Based on the limited discussion, it could be seen that participants were very enthusiastic in joining this activity. They used this occasion for making discussion with the concerned team from Udayana University.Keywords: fermented coffee pulp, rabbit nutrien requirement standard, diet manufacturing techniques in the form of pellets.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggantian tepung ikan dengan susu kadaluarsa dalam ransum terhadap karkas ayam buras. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan lima perlakuan dan lima ulangan, setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari empat ekor ayam buras jantan. Perlakuan adalah ransum tanpa penggantian tepung ikan (R0); ransum pengantian 25% tepung ikan dengan susu kadaluarsa (R1); ransum pengantian 50% tepung ikan dengan susu kadaluarsa (R2); ransum pengantian 75% tepung ikan dengan susu kadaluarsa (R3) dan ransum pengantian 100% tepung ikan dengan susu kadaluarsa (R4). Ransum dan air minum diberikan secara ad libitum. Variabel yang diamati adalah karkas dan komposisi fisik karkas. Hasil penelitian mendapatkan berat karkas dan berat daging perlakuan R3 lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan R4, R2, R1 dan R0. Semua perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap potongan komersial karkas. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa penggantian tepung ikan dengan susu kadaluarsa pada aras 75% menghasilkan karkas lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lain.

Abstract

The purpose this research is to know the effect of use 20% tofu waste fermented by Saccharomyces spp in ration on fat distribution and cholesterol serum of broiler. The experiment used of Complete Randomized Design (CRD) with three treatments and six replicates, with three broiler in each replicated. The treatments were basal diets as control (A), diets with 20% unfermented tofu waste (B), and diets with 20% tofu waste fermented by Saccharomyces spp (C), respectively. Results of this experiment showed that the fat pad of broiler in treatment C were significantly different (P<0.05) lower both than treatment A and B. Total cholesterol serum of broiler in treatment C was lower significantly (P<0.05) than treatment A, but not significantly with treatment B. Mesenteric fat and ventriculus fat has no significant different for all treatments.  It can be concluded that used of 20% tofu waste fermented by Saccharomyces spp in the ration can lower the percentage of pad fat and total cholesterol serum of broiler; and used of 20% tofu waste unfermented can be decrease total cholesterol serum of broiler.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh suplementasi sabun kalsium dalam ransum terhadap sistem pencernaan itik bali jantan umur 2-8 minggu. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 6 minggu pada kandang itik milikpeternak yang berlokasi di Jl. Tegal Wangi 2 Gang Kavling No. 9, kelurahan Sesetan, Denpasar, Bali. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan, sehingga terdapat 24 unit percobaan. Masing-masing unit percobaan menggunakan 4 ekor itik umur 2 minggu dengan berat badan homogen. Keempat perlakuan tersebut adalah itik bali jantan yang diberi ransum tanpa sabun kalsium (A), itik bali jantan yang diberi ransum 1% sabun kalsium (B), itik bali jantan yang diberi ransum 2% sabun kalsium (C), dan itik bali jantan yang diberi ransum 3% sabun kalsium (D). Variabel yang diamati yaitu panjang usus halus, persentase usus halus, persentase hati, persentase pankreas, dan persentase proventrikulus. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan panjang usus halus perlakuan B, C dan D nyata (P<0,05) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan perlakuan A, Persentase usus halus, persentse hati, persentase pankreas dan persentase proventrikulus menghasilkan perbedaan tidak nyata (P>0,05) dibandingkan perlakuan A. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian sabun kalsium sampai 3% tidak mempengaruhi persentase usus halus, persentse hati, persentase pankreas dan persentase proventrikulus, sedangkan pemberian sabun kalsium sampai 3% dapat meningkatkan panjang usus halus. Kata Kunci: Itik bali jantan, Sistem pencernaan, Sabun kalsium
