Abstract

This study were aiming to know the biological aspects of H. opuntia in term of its total wet weight, CaCO3total weight and segment numbers and relationship of segment numbers with total weight (wet and CaCO3 content). Data collection was conducted in June, 2015 and samples were taken during the day light during the low tides. Line transect and quadrate of 1 x 1 meter were used in this study. In total there are 3 line transects of50 meter in length with 25 meter distant apart of each transect and were deployed perpendicular toward coastal line. To reveal the variation on total wet weight, CaCO3 wet content and segment numbers the data were plotted on bar diagram. The regression analysis and analysis of variance also were used to reveal the relationship among the parameters measured. The result of the study are as follow:  total individuals are 215 with composition of 76 individuals in transect 1; 66 individuals in transect 2 and 73 individuals in transect 3; total wet weight: 1,259.429 gram;  total weight of CaCO3: 354.551 gram; and segment numbers 82.580. The result of regression analysis shows that there is a strong relationship between number of segment and CaCO3 wet content. Keyword : Population Analysis, Halimeda opuntia   ABSTRAK   Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui berat basah total, berat kapur total dan  jumlah segmen total serta hubungan jumlah segmen total dengan berat basah total dan hubungan jumlah segmen total dengan berat kapur total dari Halimeda opuntia. Penelitian ini dilakukan di perairan Tongkaina Kota Manado pada bulan Juni 2015.  Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada siang hari pada saat keadaan air laut surut dengan menggunakan metode transek dan kuadrat dengan ukuran 1 x 1 meter.  Pengambilan sampel dibagi atas 3 transek dengan masing-masing transek terdiri dari 10 kuadrat dengan panjang transek masing-masing 50 m, jarak antara transek dengan lainnya 25 m dan jarak antara titik kuadrat dengan lainnya 5 m. Untuk melihat variasi ukuran berat basah total, jumlah segmen total dan berat kapur total pada sampel dari lokasi penelitian tersebut, maka dibuat diagram batang, analis hubungan dan analisis keragaman.  Hasil penelitian diperoleh 215 individu masing-masing 76 individu (transek 1), 66 individu (transek 2) dan 73 individu (transek 3).  Jumlah berat basah total yang dihitung adalah 1.259,429 gram, berat kapur total  354,551 gram dan jumlah segmen total 82.580 segmen. Hasil analisis regresi hubungan jumlah segmen menunjukan bahwa hubungan kedua variabel tersebut memiliki hubungan yang sangat kuat dan analisis regresi hubungan jumlah segmen total dan berat kapur total memiliki hubungan yang kuat. Abstract

This study was aimed at revealing the structure of seagrass community in the coastal waters of Bahoi Village, West Likupang Sub-district, District of North Minahasa, North Sulawesi Province. Samples collection was conducted during the lowest tide period by deploying line transect and quadrate. Eight species of seagrasses were identified on this study, including species as follow: Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hempricihii, Cymodocea rotundata, C. serrulata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Hlodule pinifolia, H. uninervis and Halophila ovalis. The highest density value ( 112.16 individual/m2) was calculated from transect III data on S. isoetifolium species. In term of relative density value, S. isoetifolium also has the highest value (35.176 %). Index dominance (C) was calculated as well from transect III data (0.477) while the highest diversity index  (H’) was calculated from transect I data (1.724). Keyword : structure, Analysis, seagrass ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji struktur komunitas lamun di perairan pantai Desa Bahoi Kecamatan Likupang Barat Sulawesi Utara.Pengambilan sampel  dilaksanakan sekali pada saat surut terendah, data dikumpulkan berdasarkan garis transek dan kuadrat. Jenis lamun yang ditemukan dalam keseluruhan kuadrat di lokasi penelitian berjumlah 8 spesies yaitu : Enhalus acoroides, Thalassia hemprichii, Cymodocea rotundata, Cymodocea serrulata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halodule pinifolia, Halodule uninervis, dan Halophila ovalis. Kepadatan individu tertinggi terdapat pada transek III yaitu spesies Syringodium isoetifolium 112,16 ind/m2. Kepadatan relatif tertinggi terdapat pada spesies Syringodium isoetifolium (35,176 %). Indeks dominasi (C) yang tertinggi terdapat pada transek III 0.477 indeks keanekaragaman spesies (H’) yang tertinggi pada transek I 1.724. Abstract

Mud crab (Scylla serrata) is a ten-legged crustacean animal from Brachura infraordo, known to have a very short tail (in Greek: brachy = short, ura = tail). Mangrove crab is one of the aquatic biota that has significant economic value and its life is strongly influenced by the existence of mangrove forest. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the relationship of weight and growth patterns of mangrove crab (Scylla serrata). Sampling is obtained by catching activities using fishing gear that is bubu (chang). Based on the results of research conducted in the area of Mangrove Forest around Wet Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Likupang Timur in August - September 2017. Kepiting bakau adalah salah satu biota perairan yang bernilai ekonomis penting dan kehidupannya sangat dipengaruhi oleh keberadaan hutan mangrove. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis hubungan panjang berat berserta pola pertumbuhan dari kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata). Pengambilan sampel diperoleh dengan melakukan kegiatan penangkapan menggunakan alat tangkap yaitu bubu (chang). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di Daerah Hutan Mangrove sekitar Laboratorium Basah Fakultas Perikanan dan Ilmu Kelautan, Likupang Timur pada bulan Agustus ? September 2017. Kepiting bakau (Scylla serrata) yang di dapat selama melalukan penelitian diperoleh sebanyak 32 individu. Kata Kunci : Kepiting Bakau (Scylla serrata), Hubungan Panjang Berat, Pola  Pertumbuhan, Likupang Timur.

Abstract

Main coral reef building components, Scleractinian corals, has the highest distribution in Indonesia, at least 590 species known of 793 species in the world. Studies on damaged coral community transplantation have been done to observe their growth and adaptation ability. A four-month observation found that average length increment at 9 M deep was linearly 0.375 cm, 0.632 cm, and 0.732 cm at the first, second, and third month, respectively, at 6 M deep, it was 0.455 cm, 0.689 cm, and 1.012 cm, at the first, second and third month, respectively, and at  3 M deep, it was 0.55 cm, 1.05 cm and 1.1, at the first, second, and thrid month, respectively. Mean relative length increment at 9 M deep occurred every month as much as 4.25%, 8.23%, and 9.86% at the first, second, and third month, respectively. Similarly, it occurred in 6 M deep, 4.12%, 9.14%, and 11.28% at the first, second, and third month, respectively. However, at 3 M deep, it occurred only at the first and second month, 7.33% and 12.73%, while it declined at the third month, 11.7%. Abstract

This study aims to determine the distribution and abundance of reef fish families chaetodontidae in coral reef waters of Para Island Sub District Tatoareng. This study was conducted at 4 stations. Data collected was done using visual census on the 50-meter transect line at 5 meters depth. In addition to revealing the number of species and abundance of individuals chaetodontidae, data analysis aimed to determine number of species, individual abundance, and the community index. Based on the identification, obtained 27 species from 3 genera and 217 number of individuals.  The highest number of species found at station Para 1.  7 species are always found in all observation stations, Chaetodon kleinii, C. punctatofasciatus, C. lunulatus, C. trifascialis, C. vagabundus, Heniochus varius, H. chrysostomus. The species with the largest number of individuals that is Chaetodon kleinii (45 individuals). Chaetodontidae fish species diversity index ranged between 2.207-2.866. Dominance Index are categorized low in the range of 0.078-0.122.  Similarity index are categorized high in the range of 0.922-0.971. Keywords : coral fishes, chaetodontidae, coral reef, Para Island

Abstract

Ecologically intertidal mollusk has important role in the food chains. As a filter feeder, mollusk is also known as a food source for other marine organisms. The intertidal zone is known as the smallest area in the ocean basin (Nybakken, 1992). This zone is a narrow edge cover only few square meters and position between low tide mark (LTM) and high tide mark (HTM). The study was conducted in Mokupa beach waters, Tombariri sub-district, Minahasa Regency. Coastal area of Mokupa village represent typical tropical ecosystem such as coral reef, seagrass bed and mangrove belt. As many as 45 species in 134 total individuals were recorded during the study. The density of gastropods collected is 4.4667 individual/m2 while density for gastropods species Littoraria scabra Linne was 0.4000 individual/m2 and in term of relative density is 9.834 % and thus considered the highest. Species diversity index of this species is H’ = 2.37594. Keywords: mollusk, diversity, dominance   A B S T R A K   Secara ekologis Moluska yang menempati daerah intertidal memiliki peranan yang besar kaitannya dengan rantai makanan. Karena di samping sebagai filter feeder, moluska juga merupakan makanan bagi biota lainnya. Zona intertidal (pasang-surut) merupakan daerah terkecil dari semua daerah yang terdapat di samudera dunia (Nybakken, 1992). Zona ini merupakan pinggiran yang sempit sekali, hanya beberapa meter luasnya, terletak di antara air pasang tinggi dan air surut rendah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di perairan pantai Mokupa Kecamatan Tombariri Kabupaten Minahasa. Daerah pantai Desa Mokupa merupakan daerah yang lokasinya terdapat ekosistem yang khas di daerah tropis yaitu terumbu karang, padang lamun, dan hutan mangrove. Diperoleh sebanyak 45 spesies dan berjumlah 134 individu. Abstract

This study aims to determine the density and relative density of gastropods and diversity index of the community as well as evenness and dominance index in the intertidal beach Malalayang), Manado in North Sulawesi. Gastropods were sampled using quadrate with size 1x1m2 placed systematically and disproportionately on dead coral sandy substrate, mix mud, rocks slightly sandy substrate, and  substrate-sized stones. The study found that there has been a change in the amount of 30 species of gastropod species (Manginsela, 1998) increased to 69 species. While the density of gastropods contained in the intertidal beach of Malalayangis ranging from  13,63individu / m2to currently 2,73-13,63individu / m2 and relative density ranging from 11.22% - 42.78%. Diversity index of organism is high with a value of H '= 2.81497. Evenness index of gastropods in Malalayang Beach intertidalcould be categorized fairly even and almost evenly. Meanwhile, the low dominance values ​​C = 0.2132, indicating that the area has good conditions as a place to live, and yet there is competition, which means, food or a place is suitable for gastropods to live. The intertidal area of Malalayang Beach Manado North Sulawesi substrate are mainly in the form of sandy coral, slightly muddy and rocky. Keywords: gastropod, distribution A B S T R A K Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kepadatan, kepadatan relative  dari masing-masing jenis gastropoda serta indeks keanekaragam komunitas gastropoda, kemerataan dan indeks dominansi di intertidal Pantai Malalayang (di belakang Minanga Hotel), Manado Sulawesi Utara. Pengambilan contoh gastropoda menggunakan kuadrat ukuran 1x1m2 yang ditempatkan secara sistimatis dan proporsional pada substrat karang mati berpasir campur lumpur, substrat bebatuan sedikit berpasir substrat batu-berukuran. Hasil penelitian menemukan telah terjadi perubahan jumlah spesies gastropoda dari 30 spesies (Manginsela, 1998) meningkat menjadi hanya 69 spesies. Sedangkan kepadatan gastropoda yang terdapat di intertidal pantai Malalayang dari berkisar 13,63individu/m2 saat ini 2,73-13,63individu/m2 dan kepadatan relatif berkisar 11,22% - 42,78%. Keanekaragaman jenis organisme tergolong tinggi dengan nilai H’ = 2,81497. Kemerataan jenis gastropoda pada intertidan Pantai Malalayang Manado Sulawesi Utara termasuk kategori cukup merata dan hampir merata. Sedangkan,  Dominasi rendah yakni nilai C = 0.2132,  menunjukkan bahwa daerah tersebut memiliki kondisi yang baik sebagai tempat hidup dan belum terjadi persaingan yang berarti terhadap ruangg, makanan atau tempat hidup bagi gastropoda. Di daerah intertidal Pantai Malalayang Manado Sulawesi Utara Substrat berupa karang mati berpasir, berlumpur tipis dan berbatuan. Abstract

A study focusing on density, distribution pattern and morphometrics of gastropods Telescopium telescopium was carried out during the month of December 2013 in the Bakun and Gamlamo villages Jailolo, West Halmahera District, the Province of North Moluccas. The aims of this study are to analyze and to reveal the density, distribution pattern and morphometrics (length-weight relationship) of gastropods Telescopium telescopium. A total of 280 organisms were collected from two stations deployed during the study. The density index for the two stations are 3.48 and 4.77 respectively and those length and diameter  range from 23.0 to 74.9. Distribution pattern on station 1 is dominantly random while station 2 tend to be clustered. Study on length – weight relationship was found to have allometrics growth pattern. This is mean on those two stations the gastropods Telescopium telescopium have weight increment faster than length increment. Environmental parameters seem to have positive contribution on the present on those gastropods considering the sea water temperature, salinity, pH and type of substrates. Keywords: Distribution, morphometrics, density ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Desember 2013 yang berlokasi di daerah mangrove Desa Bakun dan Desa Gamlamo, Jailolo, Halmahera Barat dengan tujuan menganalisis dan memberikan informasi mengenai kepadatan, distribusi dan morfometrik (hubungan panjang·berat) dari Telescopium telescopium. Hasil pengumpulan sampel yang dilakukan di kedua stasiun diperoleh sebanyak 280 individu (Stasiun I 116 dan Stasiun II 114). Nilai kepadatan untuk kedua stasiun 4,766 · 3,48  dan kisaran panjang dan diameter kedua stasiun 23,0 sampai 74,9. Keduanya memiliki hubungan yang signifikan. Pola sebaran Stasiun I lebih dominan acak dan Stasiun II mengelompok. Uji t digunakan untuk menguji apakah nilai-nilai b sama dengan nilai teoritis 3 atau tidak. Untuk hubungan panjang dan diameter cangkang Stasiun I allometrik karena nilat t hitung lebih besar dari teoritis 1, dan pada Stasiun II isometrik. Untuk hubungan panjang dan barat, keduanya allometrik dengan kata lain pada kedua stasiun memiliki pertumbuhan barat lebih cepat dari pertumbuhan panjang. Faktor lingkungan pada Stasiun I memiliki suhu yang disenangi oleh T. telescopium berkisar antara 28-30 oC, Stasiun II memiliki kondisi suhu yang tinggi berkisar antara 31-36 oC. Salinitas pada Stasiun I lebih tinggi dari Stasiun II tetapi dari kedua stasiun tersebut memiliki tingkat salinitas yang rendah. Nilai pH untuk kedua stasiun masih ada dibatas normaal dengan kisaran 7 sampai 8. Pengamatan substrat yang dilakukan secara visual, pada stasiun I substrat lumpur berpasir dan lumpur bernir sedangkan pada Stasiun II substratnya lumpur berair. Abstract

Efforts to maintain and prepare the fish stock availability, coastal resources management in Malalayang Dua waters was carried out through coral reef rehabilitation in public fisheries zone, artificial reef “BambooReef” placement as an effort of innovation creation to prepare an alternative artificial reef model. In 1 -2 years, new habitat is expected to be present, could increase the fish biomass, and create the area to be able to supply reef fish stock in Malalayang Dua waters and its surroundings.The artificial reef “bambooReef” was laid around the natural coral reefs at the depth of 5 to 7 m. Data collected were presence and attraction of the coral fish (no. species and density).Results showed that there were 15 species found around the “BambooReef”, with the highest recorded as mayor species group (13 species), followed by indicator species, and 1 target species. Total number was 137 individuals and the density was 8.56 ind./m2 or 85.625 ind/ha.  The fifteen species of coral fish did not, in general, belong to optimum size for fishing.  Nevertheless, this study reflects that the artificial reef placement has created new habitat for the coral fish. Keywords: Artificial reef, bambooreef, bamboo, demersal.   AbstrakUpaya untuk menjaga, memelihara dan sekaligus mempersiapkan  penyediaan stok ikan di perairan, dibuatkan  pengelolaan sumberdaya wilayah pesisir di Kelurahan  Malalayang Dua dengan konsep pengelolaan melalui perbaikan  kondisi terumbu karang zona perikanan masyarakat, dengan konsep rehabilitasi tempat hidup dan berkembang ikan yaitu peletakan terumbu buatan dari bahan dasar bambu “BambuReef”, sebagai upaya menciptakan inovasi bahkan menciptakan model terumbu buatan alternatif (baru).  Diharapkan dalam waktu dalam waktu 1-2 Tahun akan tercipta habitat baru, meningkatkan biomassa ikan, menciptakan daerah yang dapat menyediakan stock ikan karang di perairan pantai Kelurahan Malalayang Dua dan sekitarnya.Terumbu buatan “bambooReef” diletakkan pada daerah sekitar  terumbu karang alami di perairan pesisir Malalayang Dua Kota Manado, pada kedalaman 5 s/d 7 meter. Data yang diperoleh dari peletakkan/penerapan terumbu buatan “BambooReef” adalah kehadiran dan ketertarikan jenis ikan karang (jumlah jenis dan kepadatannya),Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada 15 spesies yang ditemukan di sekitar terumbu buatan “BambooReef” dimana tertinggi termasuk pada kelompok spesies mayor (13 jenis), kemudian diikuti spesies indikator berjumlah 1 jenis, dan spesies target 1 jenis, dengan jumlah 137 individu, serta kepadatan 8,56 indv/m2 atau sebesar  85.625 individu per hektar.   15 jenis ikan karang yang ditemukan umumnya belum dalam ukuran optimum untuk ditangkap.  Namun demikian hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penempatan  terumbu buatan telah memberikan habitat baru bagi ikan karang.Kata kunci: Terumbu buatan, bambooreef, bambu, demersal.

Abstract

Seagrass community of Mokupa Beach waters, Tombariri sub-district, Minahasa Regency North Sulawesi was selected as study site to get information regarding the distribution, abundance, and diversity of species. Five species were identified in this study are as follow: Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichii, Halopila ovalis, Halodule pinifolia, and Enhalus acoroides. T. hemprichii had the highest density among those 5 species with 80.266 individuals/m2, relative density 45.709 % and score of dominance index (C) 0.3269. Among three transects deployed in the study site, transect III has the highest diversity index representing by ‘H = 1.3072. The result showed that seagrass community could grow well in the area which is also shown through similar score of evenness index.Keywords: Seagrass, diversity, dominance A B S T R A K Komunitas Lamun di Perairan Desa Mokupa Kecamatan Tombariri, Kabupaten Minahasa Sulawesi Utara sebagai lokasi penelitian untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang distribusi, kelimpahan dan keanekaragaman spesies. Diperoleh 5 spesies yaitu : Cymodocea rotundata, Thalassia hemprichii, Halopila ovalis, Halodule pinifolia, Enhalus acoroides. Kepadatan spesies yang tertinggi adalah Thalassia hemprichii 80,266 ind/m2. Kepadatan relatif (%) yang tertinggi adalah Thalassia hemprichii 45,709 %. Nilai indeks dominasi (C) (0,3269). Nilai keanekaragaman tertinggi dari ketiga transek terdapat pada transek III dengan nilai (Hʹ) 1,3072. menunjukan bahwa komunitas ini masih dapat tumbuh dengan baik di daerah tersebut.
