Abstract

Evaluation Of Land Suitability For Several Food Crops And Plantations In Burau Sub-District, East Luwu Regency Of South Sulawesi This research aims to discover the actual and potential of land suitability, limited factor, improvement effort, land use management and the creation of land suitability mapsand direction of use for some food crops and plantations. Plants that are evaluated includerice, corn, chili, pepper, cocoa, clove and oil palm. The research was conducted in Burausubdistrict from February 2019 to June 2019. Based on the result overlapped of soil type,land use, and slope were obtained seven homogeneous land units. The research methodsused are surveys, analyses, and classification of land suitability based on the criteria ofgrowing plant requirements that are matched with the characteristics/quality of land.Results show that classes of actual land suitability for some food crops and plantations areS1 (very appropriate) until N (not appropriate). The limited factors in the research areainclude: temperature, rainfall, drainage, texture, CEC soil, base saturation, pH, C-Organic,N-Total, P2O5, K2O, slope, and the erosion hazard. Improvement of the land-suitabilityclass can be done with improvement effort except temperature and texture because theyare permanent barrier factor. Potential suitability class of land for some food crops andplantations evaluated are S1 (highly appropriate) until S3 (marginal appropriate), withlimited factors among others temperature, texture and slope factors. Land userecommendations on AISw, AIISw, AIKk, and AIKks are rice, corn and chili. AIIKks,PsIIIKk, and PsIVKks are recommended for pepper, cocoa, clove, and palm oil.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Influence of Dose of Organic and Nonorganic Fertilizers to Yield of Rice (Oriza sativa L.) and Soil Chemical Compound on Inceptisol Kerambitan Tabanan A factorial experiment was conducted to study the effect of organic and inorganic fertilizer rates on rice yield and soil chemical characteristics under Inceptisol soil condition, located in subak Serongga, village of south Selingsing, Kerambitan district, Tabanan regency. Prior and after the experiments, soil analysis was conducted at the Soil Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. A Randomized Block Design (RBD) trial was set up, which consisted of two factors: the organic (manure) rates (K) and the inorganic fertilizer rates (P). Plant parameters observed including maximum plant height, maximum number of tillers, number of productive tillers, dry weight of grain after harvesting and oven grain dry weight. In addition, soil chemical properties were also analyzed which covering N-total, available P, available K, and C-organic. The result of statistical analysis showed that the interaction between organic and inorganic fertilizers were significantly different (P<0,05) on the maximum height of plant, while the other variables did not show any differences (P>0,05).   Key words: organic and nonorganic fertilizer, rice, soil chemical compound

Abstract

Identification of Watershed Characteristics and Land Capability for Land Use Direction in Gunggung Sub-WatershedGunggung Sub Watershed is upstream of Jinah Watershed and included in the Oos Jinah Unit Management Area Watershed, which has function and important role in supporting community water needs in Bangli and Karangasem Regency.This study aims to determine the characteristics, land capability classes, land use direction and proper management actions to keep the function of the land remains sustainable and continuous. A method used is survey and observation. Watershed characteristic is determined by digitally and landuse is determined by scoring.The result of this study showed that in Gunggung Sub Watershed there were VI and VII land capability classes and based on the results of land use scoring, land is directed into protected area and buffer area with limiting factor is texture and water retention capacity. Land management like improvements the terrace, addition of organic matter, increase plant density, planting ground cover and planting layered header system will increase the land capability classes. Land use recommended after management is mixed plantation high density with forest plants (unit 1, 2, 6, 13, and 14), mix plantation high density with patio bench contruction (unit 3, 8, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16 and 17), the cultivation of seasonal and perennial crops (unit 4 and 5), the cultivation of perennial crops (unit 7) and cultivation of seasonal crops (unit ).

Abstract

Application of Geographic Information Systems for Analysis of the Potential of Watersheds in Buleleng District The research was conducted in Buleleng Subdistrict and lasted from December 2019 to April 2020. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential for water catchment in the study area and determine the distribution of potential water catchment in the study area. The method used is a scoring method with parameters used are soil type, land use, slope and rainfall. The results showed that the potential grade of water catchment areas consisted of rather good, moderate, bad, rather bad, and very bad classes. The potential for water infiltration in the study area is dominated by a rather bad class of 2.305,66 ha (49.11%), then followed by a very bad class of 1.130,75 ha (24.08%), a bad class of 1.088,51 ha (23 , 18%), the class is rather good at 112,35 ha (2.39%) and middle class at 56,73 ha (1.20%).

Abstract

Effect Organic Fertilizer and Chemical Fertilizer (NPK) Of Increased Soybean Production Edamame On Land Subgroup Vertik Epiaquepts On Experimental Garden Udayana University, Denpasar Edamame have important role in providing nutritious food for the world's population because of the high content of amino acids, every one gram of edamame amino acids contains 340 mg isoleucine, 480 mg leucine, 400 mg lysine, 310 phenylalanine, 200 mg tyrosine, 80 mg methionine, 110 mg cystine, 250 mg threonine, 90 mg tryptophan dan 330 mg valine. This research about influence of organic fertilizer and inorganic fertilizers to increase edamame production conducted in Research Field Faculty of Agriculture and Soil Science and Environmental Laboratories Faculty of Agriculture at Udayana University from August 2016 to November 2016. The research was conducted with a randomized block design (RBD). The measured parameters are soil parameters that are pH, organic C, N total, P and K provided and plants parameters that are plant height, number of branches, number of contains pods, percentage of contains pods, production contains pods per plot, the estimated production of contains pods per hectare and fresh stover weight. The results showed that adding of a combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers affects some growing crops and soil parameters were observed. The combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers are best used with a combination of 150 kg ha-1 Fertilizer NPK + 10 ton ha-1 petroganic (P3) the estimated productions are 22,3 ton fresh pods per hectare, while the lowest is in control (without fertilizer) (P0) that 10,70 ton per hectare.

Abstract

Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System Application forAgroecosystem Based Agricultural Land Planning in Denpasar City This study aims to determine the level of potential agroecosystem land suitability, compile databases, build information systems and create maps of land useplanning for food crops and horticulture based on remote sensing and GeographicInformation System (GIS). This research took place from September 2018 - December2018 using an exploratory method which included analysis of satellite imagery, fieldsurveys, analysis of field data and laboratory data, land suitability classification,mapping of land suitability classes, compiling data bases, building informationsystems, commodity zoning, planning land use, and mapping of land use planning.Potential land suitability classes for irrigated rice fields are generally very suitable inall of Denpasar City (41 subak) but additional fertilizer is needed, especially N.Potential land suitability classes for horticultural (vegetable and fruit) commodities areclassified as appropriate (S2) through drainage improvements and fertilization.Climate factors are generally very suitable (S1) for food crops, and suitable (S2) forhorticulture plants. The train factor is generally classified as very suitable (S1) in foodcrops and horticulture unless the drainage factor is relatively slow and nutrientavailability is classified as moderate.

Abstract

Evaluation of Land, Palawija, and Horticultural Vegetable Land Suitability in Subak in Penyaringan and Tegal Cangkring Village in Mendoyo District, Jembarana Regency This study aims to determine the suitability of land for lowland rice, crops (maize and soybeans) and horticultural crops of vegetable species (onion and chili), determine the limiting factors for the plants being evaluated, and determine the direction of land use. Data obtained to complete the subak land resource database in Penyaringan Village and Tegal Cangkring Village. This research was conducted in December 2019-March 2020 using the land evaluation survey method. The stages of the research consisted of literature study, secondary data collection, delineation of homogeneous land units (SLH), determination of sample points, preliminary surveys, field surveys and soil sampling, analysis of soil samples in the laboratory, tabulation and interpretation of data, evaluation of land suitability and determining direction land use. The characteristics and quality observed were temperature, water availability (annual rainfall and dry month), humidity, root media (drainage, texture, rough material, effective depth), nutrient retention (soil CEC, KB, pH, and C-Organic) , nutrient availability (N, P, K), toxicity (salinity), erosion hazard, flood hazard, land preparation. The actual land suitability for rice plants is classified as S2-N, corn is classified as S3, soybeans are classified as N, shallots are classified as N, and chili is classified as S3. The limiting factor was improved suitability of potential land for rice plants classified as S1, corn classified as S2, soybeans classified as S3, shallots classified as S3, and chili classified as S3. Commodity order in land use in the study area: top priority for rice plants, second priority for corn and chilli plants, third priority for soybean and shallot plants.

Abstract

Imagery Interpretation for Analysis of Unda River Capacity to Retain Lahars Flow of Agung Volcano Eruption This study aims to determine the flow capacity of Unda River to retain lahars flow of Agung Volcano eruption using a descriptive exploratory method, the data through field surveys and analysis of satellite imagery. Sampling was determined based on the gradient and river's meander to produce 14 samples and 13 segments in the river flow. The cross section of the river is measured at each sample point with the mean section method, then estimating the volume of the river by multiplying the area between the two sections with the distance of the sample point. The lahar flood hazard assessment uses the Laharz application with the lahars scenario 1 million m3; 5 million m3; and 10 million m3. The results of the study showed that the capacity volume of the Unda River was 26.336.548,79 m3. Estimated area affected by scenario 1 million m3 covering 162,60 Ha; scenario 5 million m3 covering 399,19 Ha; and the scenario of 10 million m3 covering 533,77 Ha. The affected area reached 27 villages in the Karangasem Regency region and 20 villages in the Klungkung Regency area. The highest affected area for scenario of 1 million m3 is Muncan Village about 32,70 Ha; scenario 5 million m3 in Selat Village, Klungkung is 68,43 Ha; and the scenario of 10 million m3 in Tangkas Village about 266,01 Ha. The type of land use that affected is rice field land about 458,08 Ha; moor / mixed garden at 71,33 Ha; settlements is 147,72 Ha; and shrubs about 3,98 Ha.

Abstract

The Impact of Chemical Fertilization, Organic, Mineral, and The Combination of Fertilizer towards the Production Number and Quality of Sweet Corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) in Inceptisol Experimental Garden Agriculture Faculty of Udayana University The study aims to figuring out the used of some fertilizers in order to increase the production and the quality of sweet corn in Inceptisols area, and also for figuring out chemicals characteristic and soil fertility in Pegok Village, Denpasar. This research was conducted on August until November 2016, the research took place in the Experimental Garden Faculty of Agriculture, and Soil Laboratory and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. The design method was used for this research was a randomized complete block resign (RCBD) using seven treatments and three-time repetition with the number of plots 21 consist of P0 = Control, P1 = Organic fertilizer, P2 = Mineral fertilizer, P3 = Chemical fertilizer, P4 = Combination Fertilizer (PO + PK), P5 = Combination Fertilizer (PM + PK), P6 = Combination Fertilizer (PO + PM + PK). When the result of variance statistical test shows different result, the procedure followed by LSD method (Least Significance Different) with 95% of confidence level using Costat program.The result of statistical analysis shows the role of chemical fertilizers was proven ability to increase the sweet corn production number, the highest result was 13,97 tons ha-1 which use the P3 treatment (200 kg Phonska and 200 kg Urea) ha-1 increased 110,08%, it showed a better result compared to P0 (Control) which only showing 6,65 tons ha-1. The best quality of sweet corn was shown by P6 formula: the combination of organic, chemical and mineral fertilizer.

Abstract

Evaluation of Land Suitability for Development of Cajuput Tree at Area of ProductionForest in West Bali, District of Grokgak, Buleleng Regency, Bali. The objective of theresearch was to investigate and to map the land suitable level with limiting factor, also to givedirection or recomendation on kajuputi development in research area. The research used landevaluation survey method. Sample taking cunducted by stratified purposive sampling withland unit stratum. Land quality that observed include temprature/average temprature yearly,water availability, rooting media, nutrient retention, nutrien availability, salinity,terrain/mechanitation potential, and erosion danger level. Land suitable classificationconducted by matching between land quality with crop requirement of kajuputi (map inatachment). The result showed that actual as well as potential land suitable and kajuputidevelopment range from moderate suitable (S2), marginal suitable (S3), and not suitable (N)with limiting factor: duration of drymonth, pH, efective soil depth, slope, and erosion dangerlevel, stoniners and rockoutcrop. The effort that could be sugested for land management wereimproving organic matter to decrease high pH and aplication of terasering to spriest erotion.
