Abstract

Organic chili cultivation has become a necessity nowadays as awareness increases about the dangers of chemical residues used in conventional cultivation practices. Chili is one of three main of vegetables commodities in Lampung. However, pepper yellow leaf curl disease is still a major obstacle faced by farmers to increase chili productivity. Therefore, the aim of this research is to study the characteristics of symptoms and the incidence rate of pepper yellow leaf cull disease of Capsicum annuum L. and Capsicum frutescens in organic cultivation practice. The results shown that the characteristics or early symptoms of pepper yellow leaf curl disease on chilies are yellowing of young leaves, mosaic and malformation which are found in C. annuum L and C. frutescens. The intensity of disease attacks on chili plants by giving POC from the Mimosa pudica roots (PM) gave positive efect with an average low attack intensity in the 8th week, namely 32% compared to giving POC from bamboo roots (AB) with an average attack intensity 45.5%. This indicates that POC from the roots of Mimosa pudica (PM) is capable of being a bioprotectant for chili plants. The application of POC type 3 also provided a positive response with a low intensity of pepper yellow leaf curl disease on C. frutescens.

Abstract

The numerical heat diffusivity model can be used to optimally predict the temperature and boiling time of pempek, because boiling affects the physicochemical characteristics of pempek lenjer. Apply the diffusivity model numerically to find the optimal temperature and boiling time for pempek and to see changes in the physicochemical properties of pempek during boiling, that will be achieved in this research. Research using Factorial RAK in 3 replications, the first factor is the ratio of dough in 4 levels and the other factors is the temperature of dough in 5 levels. The variables measured were determining the boiling time , saccharide analysis, amino acid analysis, texture, and pH . The results showed that fish-dominant pempek dough required a longer boiling time than tapioca flour-dominant dough. In fish-dominant pempek dough, the dextrin formed is higher but the maltose content is low , and high temperatures cause the dextrin content decreases but the maltose content increases. The dextrin content ranged from 43.056-16.497, and the maltose content ranged from 10.793 – 5.430. and high temperatures cause, the lower the amino acid content in water-soluble amino acids, but increased in water-insoluble amino acids. The dominant tapioca dough, and the high temperature, causes the texture and pH to also be high.Texture ranged from 315.133 gf - 803.00 gf, and the average pH ranged from 6.69 - 6.94.

Abstract

The problems faced by seed supply institutions are after the breaking of dormancy, seeds cannot be germinated immediately, but can be stored for an indefinite period of time until there is consumer demand. It is expected that seed storage for a certain period of time will still have good viability to be used as seeds. The aim of the study was to determine the viability response of oil palm seeds (Elaeis guineensis Jacq, L.) at various seed shelf lives and heating times. The study design used factorial in randomized groups with 3 replications. The first factor is seed shelf life: S1 = 0-6 months, S2 = 7-13 months, S3 = 14-20 months, S4 = >21 months, and reheating time as the second factor consists of 8 levels, namely: P1 = 20 days, P2 = 30 days, P3 = 40 days, P4 = 50 days, P5 = 60 days, P6 = 70 days, P7 = 80 days, and P8 = 90 days. Each treatment combination used 100 seeds. Data were analyzed using the SAS version 6 program, followed by honest significant difference test (BNJ) and regression analysis. The conclusion of this study is that the maximum storage time for oil palm seeds is ˃ 21 months, they can still be used as normal quality seeds. Effect of the best heating time on normal germination of seeds at 70 days of heating. The best treatment for seed storage is 0-6 months, with a heating time of 70 days.

Abstract

Tanaman cabai merah keriting dapat menurun kualitas dan kuantitasnya karena penyakit kuning yang menyerang pada fase vegetatif maupun fase generatif. Kelompok Wanita Tani Putri Handayani di Pekon Sidokaton, Kecamatan Gisting masih menerapkan pestisida dan pupuk kimia untuk budidaya tanaman cabai keriting. Metode yang dilakukan untuk pengabdian masyarakat ini dimulai dengan kunjungan dan penyuluhan ke KWT Putri Handayani dan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan budidaya cabai merah keriting, pembuatan pestisida nabati serta perbanyakan dan pembuatan kompos Azolla. Setelah pestisida nabati dan pupuk kompos Azolla dibuat, kemudian diaplikasikan pada tanaman cabai merah keriting yang ditanam di lahan percobaan. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan pengamatan intensitas serangan penyakit dan dilakukan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah KWT Putri Handayani tertarik dan minat untuk membudidayakan cabai merah keriting secara organik (mengimplementasikan pestisida nabati dan kompos azolla). Setelah pemberian penyuluhan KWT Putri Handayani mampu membuat pestisida nabati dan kompos Azolla secara mandiri. Hasil pengamatan nilai intensitas serangan penyakit kuning keriting pada budidaya cabai merah keriting secara organik setelah diaplikasikan pestisida nabati hanya sampai 30%.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ditujukan untuk memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan nyata yang terjadi pada masyarakat melalui pengamalan IPTEKS yang dilakukan oleh perguruan tinggi secara melembaga melalui metode ilmiah langsung kepada masyarakat yang membutuhkannya. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan di Desa Trimulyo, Kecamatan Tegineneng, Kabupaten Pesawaran, Lampung Selatan pada tanggal 8 Agustus 2023 di kediaman ketua KWT Lestari dan diikuti oleh 25 peserta. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah: (1) memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat petani tentang teknologi pasca panen dan strategi pemasaran hasil cabai; (2) memanfaatkan teknologi pengolahan hasil cabai berupa diversifikasi produk olahan cabai; (3) memberikan stimulan kepada kelompok tani berupa sarana pelatihan pengolahan hasil cabai. Kegiatan berupa penyuluhan, transfer ilmu pengetahuan terkait penanganan pasca panen serta teknologi diversifikasi produk olahan cabai seperti cabai bubuk, cabai kering, saus cabai serta pengemasannya. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahapan (1) identifikasi permasalahan; (2) persiapan tim pelaksana yang meliputi pemenuhan administrasi, persiapan materi penyuluhan dan bahan praktik; (3) pelaksanaan kegiatan melalui kegiatan penyuluhan dan diskusi lalu dilanjutkan dengan praktik langsung. Materi yang disampaikan mengenai arti penting pasca panen dan teknik pengolahan hasil cabai yang tepat serta manfaatnya bagi pelaku usaha tani cabai dalam berinovasi dan meningkatkan pendapatan. Kegiatan pasca panen yang didemonstrasikan yakni teknik penyortiran, grading, pengemasan, dan pelabelan. Produk olahan yang didemonstrasikan yaitu saus cabai. Antusiasme peserta sangat tinggi selama pelaksanaan hingga akhir kegiatan. Hal ini dapat diidentifikasi dari adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta tentang penanganan pasca panen cabai serta diversifikasi produk olahan cabai berdasarkan hasil kuisioner yang dibagikan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan.

Abstract

Salah satu sayuran yang potensial dikembangkan di Kabupaten Tanggamus adalah Bawang Merah. Bawang merah merupakan salah satu komoditas yang berniali ekonomi tinggi. Kebutuhan masayarakat terhadap bawang merah sangat tinggi karena pada setiap masakan, bawang merah selalu digunakan. Dengan memproduksi bawang merah sendiri, kebutuhan akan bawang merah akan terpenuhi. Selama ini petani yang menanam bawang merah di Kabupaten Tanggamus masih sedikit. Hal tersebut disebabkan karena usaha penanaman bawang merah belum dikenal oleh para petani, sehingga petani memiliki keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam budidaya tanaman bawang merah. Oleh karena itu perlu penyuluhan tentang teknologi budidaya bawang merah bagi petani di Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian (BPP) Kecamatan Gisting, Kabupaten Tanggamus. Berdasarkan uraian di atas, maka dapat dirumuskan Petani di Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian (BPP) Kecamatan Gisting, Kabupaten Tanggamus belum memiliki pengetahuan tentang teknologi budidaya bawang merah serta potensi usahataninya. Petani di Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian (BPP) Kecamatan Gisting, Kabupaten Tanggamus belum memiliki keterampilan dalam budidaya tanaman bawang merah. Dari berbagai permasalahan yang ada, maka solusi yang ditawarkan adalah: Meningkatan pengetahuan petani melalui penyuluhan tentang teknologi budidaya bawang merah serta potensi usahataninya. Pelatihan dan praktik budidaya tanaman bawang merah. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat Pelatihan Budidaya Bawang Merah Bagi Petani Di Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian (BPP) Kecamatan Gisting, Kabupaten Tanggamus dapat disimpulkan bahwa: Pengetahuan petani tentang teknologi budidaya bawang merah serta potensi usahataninya meningkat melalui penyuluhan, Keterampilan petani tentang budidaya bawang merah meningkat melalui pelatihan.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membimbing kelompok tani cabe khususnya kelompok tani Handayani untuk memulai membudidayakan tanaman cabe secara organik pada lahan usaha taninya. Metode pelaksanaan yang digunakan terdapat tiga tahapan yaitu peningkatan pengetahuan, peningkatan ketrampilan dan evaluasi. Peningkatan pengatahuan diberikan melalui ceramah untuk memberi pengetahuan tentang budidaya tanaman cabe organik, pestisida nabati dan pembuatan pupuk kompos berbahan Azolla pinnata; dilanjutkan peningkatan keterampilan dengan pembuatan pestisida nabati, perbanyakan Azolla pinnata dan pembuatan kompos, demplot tanaman cabe kemudian evaluasi. Bimbingan demonstrasi cara pembudidayaan cabe organik dimulai dari penanaman bibit di bumbungan, aplikasi kompos azolla pada lubang tanam, lalu penanaman cabe dan aplikasi pestisida nabati.  Petani menanam cabe pada bedengan yang telah dibuat sebanyak 192 tanaman yang terbagi dalam 6 bedengan.  Kemudian dilaksanakan kegiatan pemeliharaan, pengendalian hama dan penyakit dengan aplikasi pestisida nabati, dan panen serta penanganan pasca panen. Kegiatan ini akan dimonitor. Monitoring dilakukan 1 bulan sekali terutama di setiap akhir kelompok kegiatan budidaya yang dipraktikkan. Sebagai indikator keberhasilan adalah hasil evaluasi akhir penyuluhan dengan masing-masing indikator penilaian meningkat sebesar 90 persen dari segi pengetahuan budidaya cabe secara organik dan keterampilan teknik budidaya cabe organik meningkat.

Abstract

Abstract: This community service aims to guide chili farmer groups, especially the Handayani farmer group, to start cultivating chili plants organically on their farming land.There were three stages of the implementation method used, namely increasing knowledge, increasing skills and evaluation. Increasing knowledge was given through lectures to provide knowledge about the cultivation of organic chili plants, botanical pesticides and production of compost made from Azolla pinnata; followed by skills improvement by making botanical pesticides, propagating Azolla pinnata and making compost, demonstration plots of chili plants and then evaluation. Guidance for demonstrations on how to cultivate organic chilies started with planting seeds on the ridge, applying azolla compost to the planting holes, then planting chilies and applying botanical pesticides. Farmers planted chilies in beds that had been made as many as 192 plants which were divided into 6 beds. Afterwards, there were carried out the maintenance activities, controlling pests and diseases with the application of botanical pesticides, and harvesting along with post-harvest handling. This activity would be monitored. Monitoring was carried out once a month, especially at the end of each group of practiced cultivation activities. As an indicator of success, the results of the activity evaluation showed an increase in knowledge of organic farming concepts of 55% and an increase in skills of 85%.   Keywords: Sidokaton village, Pesticide Organic, Azolla pinnata

Abstract

Potassium is really needed by melon plants to increase the sweet taste of the fruit. The element potassium can improve the size and quality of fruit during the plant's generative period and can add a sweet taste to the fruit. Meanwhile, phosphorus functions in the process of forming plant flowers and fruit as well as increasing fruit production and ripening. The aims of the research were to study interaction between the concentration and time application of MKP fertilizer on the production and quality of melon (Cucumis melo L.) and the effect of concentration and time application of MKP fertilization on the production and quality of melon (Cucumis melo L.). This experiment used Randomized Complete Block Design, which consist 2 factors, first factor was concentration of MKP fertilizer. Second factor was time application of MKP fertilizer. Data obtained were analyzed with F test, and were continued with HSD at 5 percent when significant. Results showed that there is an interaction between the concentration of MKP fertilizer and the time of application of MKP fertilizer for melon production and quality on the parameters of fruit weight, fruit diameter and total soluble solids. Providing MKP fertilizer with a concentration of 9 g.l-1 and application time of MKP fertilizer 42 and 49 days after planting is a good combination for melon production and quality in the parameters of fruit weight (3.16 kg), fruit diameter (13.65 cm), and total dissolved solids (13.73 °brix). Providing MKP fertilizer with a concentration of 9 g.l-1 is the best fertilizer concentration for melon production and quality in the parameters of fruit weight (3.16 kg), fruit diameter (13.65 cm), and total soluble solids (13.73 °brix). MKP fertilizer application time of 42 and 49 HST is the best time for melon production and quality in the parameters of fruit weight (3.16 kg), fruit diameter (13.65 cm), and total soluble solids (13.73 °brix).

Abstract

The use of liquid organic fertilizer with added AB Mix nutrients is an alternative solution to reduce the use of AB Mix nutrients. The aims of the research were to study interaction between the application of liquid organic fertilizer and the hydroponic system on the growth and yield of pak choy and the effect of concentration of liquid organic fertilizer and hydroponic systems on the growth and yield of pak choy. This experiment used Split Plot Design, which consist 2 factors, main plot was concentration of liquid organic fertilizer. Sub plot was hydroponic systems. Data obtained were analyzed with F test, and were continued with LSD at 5 percent when significant. Results showed that there was no interaction between the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer and hydroponic system for all observed parameters. The concentration of 25% liquid organic fertilizer + 75% AB Mix and concentration of 45% liquid organic fertilizer + 55% AB Mix gave better results on the parameters of height, number of leaves and fresh weight of pak choy plants grown in a hydroponic system when compared with a concentration of 65% liquid organic fertilizer + 35 % AB Mix. The NFT hydroponic system is better in the parameters of height and number of leaves of pak choy plants when compared to the DFT hydroponic system.
