Abstract

Proving ability is rarely homed in mathematics learning. Thus, this becomes interesting when examined and associate it with van Hiele’s level of geometrical thinking, namely the level of deduction. This study aims to determine the thinking process of student’s level deduction in proving Triangle Proportionally Theorems and its convers. This type of research is qualitative research. Deduction level students were given a theorem proving test consist of two questions, then conducted interviews to find out more about the thinking process. The results are students level deduction can prove the theorem by utilizing the knowledge possessed both undefined terms (point and line), parallel and similarity AAA postulates, definitions of angle and congruence, parallel and similarity SAS~ theorems, corollary CSSTP and CASTC. It can be known from the student’s proving scheme and interviews that is conducted by researcher towards student.

Abstract

Kecemasan geometri adalah kecemasan yang muncul ketika menghadapi hal – hal yang berhubungan dengan geometri. Tingkatan kecemasan geometri dimulai dari rendah, sedang, tinggi, dan panik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kecemasan geometri siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah bangun ruang sisi datar ditinjau dari teori van Hiele. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini masing - masing dua siswa pada level visualisasi, analisis, dan deduksi informal. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui kombinasi (triangulasi). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa dari tiap level memiliki kecemasan geometri yang berbeda. Siswa visualisasi mengalami kecemasan sedang dan tinggi dalam mendefinisikan dan mengidentifikasi sifat serta unsur bangun ruang sisi datar. Siswa analisis mengalami kecemasan sedang dalam menyelesaikan masalah geometri yang berkaitan dengan perhitungan diagonal, volume, dan luas permukaan. Siswa deduksi informal mengalami kecemasan tinggi dalam menyelesaikan masalah berkaitan dengan definisi dan unsur bangun ruang serta permasalahan dalam bentuk cerita.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan fase pembelajaran van Hiele pada bahasan sifat-sifat segiempat terhadap tingkat berpikir geometri siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalahh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kencong yang kemudian diambil sampel yaitu kelas XI MIPA 1 berjumlah 33 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 2 berjumlah 33 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data hasil pengerjaan Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT) diambil sebagai pretest dan posttest yang kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t melalui bantuan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan penerapan teori van Hiele dibandingkan dengan kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode konvensional (thitung = 2,067 > ttabel = 1,997). Hal tersebut diperkuat dengan hasil analisis terhadap level berpikir geometri siswa yang menunjukkan bahwa 48,48% siswa pada kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan level berpikir geometri, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya 18,18% yang mengalami peningkatan level berpikir geometri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fase-fase pembelajaran van Hiele dapat diterapkan sebagai alternatif metode pembelajaran geometri di dalam kelas yang secara signifikan berpengaruhh terhadap tingkat berpikir geometri siswa.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is an ability that can create students in critical and creative individuals. The ways that can be used to reveal students' high-level thinking skills by using contextual problems in learning. The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of high order thinking of 8th-grade students in solving contextual problems regarding slerek boat. This research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 8thH grade students of  SMPN 1 Muncar, which amounted to 28 students. Data retrieval using test questions and interview activities. From the results of data collection, the results show that the ability of 8thH grade students tends to be able to solve questions at the evaluation level. This can be seen from the results of the test questions where there is 1 student who can solve the question of creation level (C6), 22 students can solve the question of the level of evaluation (C5) and 5 students can solve the level of analysis (C4). Based on the results of interviews, students who can solve the question level C5 have good ability in analyzing problems can explain the settlement process both orally and in writing, besides that it’s also able to make a hypothesis and test the hypothesis made previously

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is the study of the relationship between mathematics and culture that found in society. This research was conducted at the GESIBU Blambangan Banyuwangi gate. The purpose of this study was to describe ethnomatematics form at the Blambangan GESIBU Gate and arrange it into the research product in the form of ethnomatematic-based student worksheets (LKS). This research is a qualitative research with descriptive data analysis. There are three data collecting technique being used, those are observation, interview, and documentation The subject of this research were four people, namely cultural observers, archaeologists, builders, and carvers. The results showed that there were an ethnomatematics in the arrangement of shapes and sizes for each component of the gate from its roof, body, foot and the carving. The shape and size from each gate component contain ethnomatatics, such as two-dimensional figure, solid figure/geometry, geometric transformation (reflection, dilation, and rotation), and arithmetic sequence patterns

Abstract

Mathematics is very closely related to the habits that exist in society. The habits that exist in society can be called a culture. The concept or aspect of mathematics related to culture is called ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics can also be used as teaching materials that can attract students' interest in mathematics, because students will find it easier to learn science that is directly related to real life. Thus, ethnomathematics is very important in mathematics learning activities so students can learn between mathematics and culture, and know the cultural activities that exist in the surrounding community. In this study, the ethnomathematics of the tumpeng and the Tumpeng Sewu Banyuwangi ritual, which is one of the cultures in Indonesia, will be described as well as utilizing the results of their research into ethnomathematic Students’ Worksheets (LKS). Ethnomathematics obtained are activities of counting, counting, and measuring, as well as some mathematical concepts such as algebra, arithmetic, and geometry.

Abstract

Ethnomatematics as link between culture and mathematics is a multicultural mathematical activity that uses culture in making connections with mathematics topics so as to motivate students to preserve their own culture while learning mathematics. The purpose of this reasearch are to explore ethnomathematics in Gajah Oling’s batik based on geometric concepts. The type of reaserch is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The subject of this reasearch is a design maker Gajah Oling’s batik. This research focuses on intersesting discovery from the exploration results, that is making pattern of Gajah Oling’s batik shirt. In the process of making pattern of Gajah Oling’s shirt, ethnomathematics seen on design and measuring activities. In desiging activities geometric concepts such as translation and reflection emerge, while in measuring activities, design makers use mathematics to determine the design size so that the fabric meeded to make a shirt can be minimized as little as possible.Keywords: Ethnomatematics, cocoa farmers, culture.

Abstract

Student worksheet based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a learning media that presents questions in the form of contextual problems so as to stimulate students' thinking skills. This type of research is development research using the Thiagarajan model or the Four-D Model which aims to describe the process and results of developing PBL-based student worksheets for class VIII students on Prism material that is valid, practical, and effective in training students' creative thinking skills. The method used in this research is the questionnaire method to determine the validity and practicality of the student worksheets and the test method to determine the effectiveness. The results of this study are the achievement of increasing students' creative thinking skills with very good interpretations. The student worksheets based on PBL model on prism material produced were declared valid, practical, and effective. This student worksheet could be used to improve students' creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Ethnomatematics is the practice or daily activities of a society that has become a culture and there is the application of basic mathematical concepts. The purpose of this research is to describe ethnomatematics on the activities of hatching process of semi-natural green turtle eggs in Sukamade, Meru Betiri National Park to make teaching materials for students in the form of test questions and calculate the fractal dimensions on sand used for hatching the eggs of green turtle. This type of research is qualitative research with an ethnographic approach. The data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The research subjects were the UPKP (Turtle Conservation Management Unit), MMP (Gamekeeper Partner Community) and Facilitators. This study focuses on the activities to calculate, measure, and design. The mathematical concepts that arise are arithmetic operations, value comparisons, arithmetic series and geometric shapes. Fractal dimension calculations on natural and semi-natural sand in the process of hatching green turtle eggs with MATLAB aid program obtained the fractal dimensions on natural sand was 1.7252 and on semi-natural sand was 1.7273.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAKMI as a comprehensive assessment is used to diagnose students' strengths and weaknesses in reading literacy, numeracy literacy, scientific literacy and socio-cultural literacy at MI, MTs and MA levels. MI Hidayatul Mubtadi'in Sidodadi Tempurejo is one of the schools that hold AKMI. AKMI results show quite satisfactory results. However, there needs to be improvement because there are still many students who are still at the basic level. One component that needs to be improved is strengthening facilitator capacity through training. Community service activities aim to overcome problems and fulfill the practical needs of MI Hidayatul Mubtadi'in Sidodadi Tempurejo through training and mentoring. Community service activities use a PAR approach. The activity stages consist of planning, training, mentoring and evaluation. The activity went smoothly. This activity provides additional knowledge for teachers regarding the concept of numeracy literacy and how to prepare numeracy literacy questions. The teachers have tried to arrange numeracy literacy questions according to their respective fields of study with the theme of agriculture.Keywords: AKMI, numeracy literacy, training, agricultureABSTRAKAKMI sebagai asesmen komprehensif digunakan untuk mendiagnosis kelebihan dan kelemahan peserta didik pada literasi membaca, literasi numerasi, literasi sains dan literasi sosial budaya pada jenjang MI, MTs, dan MA. MI Hidayatul Mubtadi’in Sidodadi Tempurejo sebagai salah satu sekolah yang melaksanakan AKMI. Hasil AKMI menunjukkan hasil yang cukup memuaskan. Namun perlu adanya peningkatan karena masih banyak siswa yang masih berada pada level dasar. Salah satu komponen yang perlu diperbaiki yaitu penguatan kapasistas fasilitator melalui pelatihan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat bertujuan untuk mengatasi masalah dan pemenuhan kebutuhan praktis MI Hidayatul Mubtadi’in Sidodadi Tempurejo melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menggunakan pendekatan PAR. Tahapan kegiatannya terdiri dari perencanaan, pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan berlangsung dengan lancar. Kegiatan ini memberikan pengetahuan tambahan bagi guru bidang studi mengenai konsep literasi numerasi serta bagaimana menyusun soal literasi numerasi. Guru-guru telah mencoba menyusun soal literasi numerasi sesuai dengan bidang studi masing-masing dengan tema pertanian.Kata Kunci: literasi numerasi, AKMI, pelatihan, pertanian
