Abstract

Perairan karst merupakan perairan dengan suatu keunikan yang dapat mempengaruhi organisme di dalamnya, salah satunya adalah makrozoobenthos. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan struktur komunitas makrozoobenthos di perairan karst Klapanunggal dan Ciampea, Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat. Pengambilan contoh dilakukan pada bulan Februari hingga April 2015. Pengambilan contoh dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali dengan jarak setiap pengambilan contoh yaitu 2 minggu. Komunitas makrozoobenthos di perairan karst Ciampea dan Klapanunggal terdiri atas kelas Oligochaeta (Lumbriculus sp., Tubifex sp., Peloscolex sp. dan Branchiura sp.) dan Insekta (Ephemerella sp., Tendipes sp. dan Prodiamesa sp.). Jenis makrozoobenthos yang paling banyak ditemukan di perairan karst Klapanunggal dan Ciampea berasal dari kelas Oligochaeta dengan jenis Lumbriculus sp. pada karst Ciampea dan Tubifex sp. pada karst Klapanunggal. Makrozoobenthos dari kelas Oligochaeta dapat hidup di perairan dengan kandungan bahan organik tinggi dan tipe substrat perairan yang halus.

Abstract

Situ Patengan merupakan salah satu danau dataran tinggi di Jawa Barat yang berada pada ketinggian 1600 mdpl. Danau dataran tinggi memiliki karakteristik unik dan dihuni oleh berbagai organisme di dalamnya termasuk makroavertebrata bentik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengkaji biodiversitas makroavertebrata bentik pada tingkat famili serta hubungannya dengan kondisi lingkungan perairan. Kajian ini dilaksanakan dari Agustus hingga Oktober 2022 pada tiga area dengan 9 titik pengamatan. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan 9 famili (Atyiidae, Glossiphonidae, Isotomidae, Chironomidae, Culicidae, Perlidae, Naididae, Lumbriculidae dan Tubificidae) yang berasal dari 6 ordo. Famili Chironomidae merupakan famili yang mendominasi dari sisi jumlah jenis dan kelimpahan. Berdasarkan Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA), setiap area pengamatan memiliki karakteristik perairan yang berbeda-beda serta korelasi dengan makroavertebrata bentik sesuai dengan tekanan lingkungan yang ada di sekitar area tersebut. Meskipun beberapa area memiliki tekanan lingkungan yang cukup tinggi, masih ditemukan jenis-jenis makroavertebrata yang sensitif terhadap tekanan lingkungan seperti famili Atyiidae maupun Perlidae terutama di area yang tekanan lingkungannya relatif rendah terutama di sekitar area hutan lindung.

Abstract

Danau Ebony merupakan danau buatan yang difungsikan sebagai pengendali banjir dan menambah nilai estetika perumahan di sekitarnya. Penelitian dilakukan dimaksudkan untuk mengevaluasi apakah operasional pengelolaan Danau Ebony mampu memperbaiki kualitas air danau. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2014-Februari 2015 dengan interval waktu satu bulan. Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Indeks Pencemaran dan Indeks STORET. Tingkat pencemaran danau Ebony berdasarkan Indeks STORET memiliki kisaran nilai -40 sampai -52. Nilai Indeks Pencemaran perairan Danau Ebony yang diperoleh untuk permukaan dan dasar perairan berkisar antara 1,54 sampai 10,26. Kondisi Danau Ebony yang tercemar dicirikan oleh parameter-parameter yang melebihi baku mutu air kelas III PP no 82 tahun 2001, di antaranya COD, BOD5, Nitrit, H2S. Status perairan Danau Ebony berdasarkan Indeks Pencemaran tergolong tercemar ringan hingga tercemar berat. Berdasarkan Indeks STORET status kualitas air Danau Ebony menunjukkan kondisi tercemar berat pada setiap stasiun dengan kecenderungan musim kemarau lebih tinggi dibandingkan musim hujan.

Abstract

Ebony Lake is an ornamental lake, where its surrounding domestic activity which can produce waste that may affect water quality including organism in there, such as zooplankton. Ebony Lake has become the study object to see correlation between zooplankton community and water quality. This research had been done between April-August 2014 in 5 station every month. Zooplankton community in Ebony Lake consists of the phylum Rotifera, Crustacea, and Protozoa. The highest abundance of zooplankton is Brachionus from Rotifera. The phylum Rotifera has a strong negative correlation with TSS, turbidity, and ammonia, whilst it has strong positive correlation with acidity/pH. The high value of TSS, turbidity, and ammonia, followed by the low abundance of Rotifers; while low pH will be followed by high abundance of Rotifers. The phylum Protozoa has a strong positive correlation with TSS and negative with temperature.

Abstract

Situ Patengan is designated as a Natural Tourism Park, offering recreational opportunities. However, human activities in the surrounding area can introduce both organic and inorganic materials, leading to changes in the lake’s trophic conditions. The trophic state level, which indicates the presence of nutrients, is used to evaluate the potential for the utilization of water bodies. The aim of this study was to assess the trophic state of Situ Patengan in Bandung Regency, West Java. Water samples were collected from the lake at four locations over three sampling periods. The trophic index (TRIX) method was applied to evaluate the lake’s trophic state. Total phosphate concentrations ranged from 0.041–0.187 mg/L, dissolved inorganic nitrogen concentrations varied between 0.20 and 0.64 mg/L, and chlorophyll-a levels ranged from 10.08 to 33.83 μg/L. According to the TRIX classification, the trophic state of Situ Patengan is considered eutrophic, with values ranging from 4.25 and 6.54. This information is valuable for predicting potential increases in trophic levels and guiding the sustainable management of Situ Patengan ecosystem.

Abstract

Kajian dilakukan bulan Oktober 2023 pada 5 stasiun pengamatan yang bertujuan untuk menilai kondisi ekologi perairan Selat Cunda dalam upaya pengembangan budidaya tiram. Parameter diukur secara in situ dan ex situ, selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan baku mutu lingkungan serta dianalisis menggunakan Principal Component Analysis. Oksigen terlarut tertinggi ditemukan pada Stasiun 3 (7.66 ± 0.08 mg/L), pH pada Stasiun 2 (7.95 ± 0.02), salinitas pada Stasiun 1 (27.00 ± 1.00‰), kecerahan pada Stasiun 5 (79.00 ± 4.00 cm), kedalaman dan suhu pada Stasiun 2 (62.33 ± 8.33 cm dan 30.80 ± 0.62⁰C), kekeruhan dan kelimpahan Escherichia coli pada Stasiun 1 (2262.42 ± 1613.32 NTU dan 1020.00 ± 113.00 MPN/100 ml), logam berat Cd air pada Stasiun 3 dan 4 (masing-masing 0.01 ± 0.00 mg/L), logam berat Pb air pada Stasiun 3 (0.07 ± 0.01 mg/L), kecepatan arus pada Stasiun 2 (0.20 ± 0.01 m/s), tekstur pasir pada Stasiun 5 (88.00 ± 1.73%), tekstur debu pada Stasiun 4 (46.00 ± 22.52%), tekstur liat dan C-organik pada Stasiun 1 (9.67 ± 1.15% dan 0.85 ± 0.68%), logam berat Cd serta Pb pada Stasiun 3 (0.03 ± 0.01 mg/L dan 7.60 ± 0.58 mg/L) dan N-total pada Stasiun 4 (0.12 ± 0.33%). Hasil analisis PCA memperlihatkan bahwa parameter suhu, tekstur debu, kecepatan arus, Cd air, N-total dan tekstur pasir merupakan pembeda utama variasi di PC pertama; sementara parameter salinitas, kelimpahan E. coli, kekeruhan, tekstur liat dan kedalaman merupakan pembeda utama variasi di PC kedua. Untuk mewujudkan kesuksesan budidaya tiram di Selat Cunda Kota Lhokseumawe harus ditingkatkan nilai kecerahan dan kedalaman perairan serta menurunkan kekeruhan serta logam berat Pb.

Abstract

Kegiatan eksplorasi minyak dan gas bumi dapat menghasilkan limbah yang berpotensi toksik bagi lingkungan perairan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung konsentrasi supernatan cutting yang dapat mematikan 50% biota uji dengan waktu pemaparan 96 jam. Percobaan menggunakan wadah kaca untuk menentukan nilai LC50 pada waktu pemaparan 24, 48, 72 dan 96 jam. Kegiatan penelitian dibagi menjadi dua tahapan, yaitu uji pendahuluan dan uji utama. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, nilai LC50-96 jam dari supernatan cutting sebesar 58.241 ppm. Dengan demikian, sesuai PerMenESDM Nomor 45 Tahun 2006 bahwa limbah minyak bumi tersebut dapat dibuang langsung ke perairan, karena nilai LC50-96 jam >30.000 ppm. Semakin lama D. magna terpapar cutting, semakin banyak bagian tubuh D. magna yang mengalami kerusakan.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine acute toxicity of cutting as drilling waste of oil and gas exploration on brine shrimp (Artemia salina) and its influence on the morphology of the test biota. The concentration used in the acute toxicity test namely 22,000, 39,000, 70,000, 126,000 and 226,000 ppm. Acute concentration value (LC50) was estimated by probit methods. The concentration of acute toxicity (LC50) 96 hours of drilling cutting was 34,260 ppm. The test biota responded to exposure of cutting waste, in the form of changes in swimming position, activity, stress level and damage in the morphology and anatomy of the body.

Abstract

Besides overfishing, other factors that influence the decline in blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus) production are diseases caused by parasites. Poor environmental conditions could trigger parasite infestation on their host. This study aims to identify ectoparasites morphologically based on the research location and to analyze the prevalence of ectoparasites of the blue swimming crabs. Crab samples and data collection of aquatic environmental parameters were carried out at five locations in the northern part of Java Island, Indonesia: Pasuruan, Lamongan, Semarang, Cirebon, and Banten. The study was conducted from December 2021 to July 2023. Morphological identification of ectoparasites was carried out at the Biology Micro Laboratory I, Department of Aquatic Resources Management, IPB University. Interviews with fishermen were also conducted to ensure the crab catchment area around the research location. The number of blue swimming crabs obtained at each location varied, ranging from 25 to 35 individuals, consisting of large, medium, and small crabs. Based on the results of morphological identification, there were a total of five types of parasites found in all research locations, namely Allokepon sp., Chelonibia testudinaria, Octolasmis angulata, Octolasmis warwickii, and Octolasmis sp. The prevalence rate of crabs in each location was significantly different in five locations, namely Pasuruan, Lamongan, Semarang, Cirebon, and Banten, which were 80%, 74%, 80%, 12%, and 70%, respectively. The highest prevalence was in Pasuruan and Semarang. Factors affecting the prevalence rate of ectoparasites in blue swimming crabs included environmental quality such as temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen (DO).

Abstract

Lhokseumawe is a designated as an Economic Growth Center (EGC), making it very susceptible to producing heavy metals.This research aimed to measure the content of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) in oysters (Saccostrea cucullata), water, and sediment in the Cunda Strait, as well as evaluate the relationship between heavy metals and environmental conditions. The experiment was conducted at five stations selected based on considerations of seawater inflow and outflow into the Cunda Strait and existing pollution sources. The results showed that high levels of Pb and Cd with 0.36 and 0.00 mg.kg-1 for S. cucullata, 0.07 and 0.01 mg.kg-1 for water, as well as 7.60 and 0.03 mg.kg-1 for sediment, were found at locations away from the inflow and outflow of the Malacca Strait. The analysis showed a positive pattern in the relationship between Pb metal levels in S. cucullata with water and sediment. This suggested that Pb pollution in S. cucullata came from Pb metal in sediment and water, showing a significant effect on aquatic organisms. However, no clear relationship was found between Cd metal in S. cucullata with sediment and water. The main differences in Pb and Cd between parts were observed in the levels of Pb in water (r= 0.59) and Cd in water (r= 0.71), where higher concentrations were found in central part of the Cunda Strait compared to the southern and northern. Contaminants of heavy metals in S. cucullata, water, and sediment were significantly influenced by temperature, sediment fraction, and organic matter.
