Abstract

ABSTRACT    This research was conducted on November 7thto December 11th2017 in the laboratory of Aquaculture Technology, Marine and Fisheries Faculty, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The main purpose of this study was to determine the best stocking density to increase the growth and survival rate of catfishby using aquaenzymsboster probiotics on feed. The method was an experimental method of completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor, four treatments and three replications. The treatments in this study were P1 (35 fish/72 liters), P2 (50 fish/72 liters), P3 (65 fish/72 liters), and P4 (80 fish/72 liters). The respecti vely rearing tanks were 12 unitsof aquarium by 60 cm x 40 cm x 40 cm and filled of 72 liters of water. Feed was given three times a day with 35% of protein dose. The result of the observation showed that the stocking density 50 fish/72 literswas the best stocking density in this study which providedthe absolute growth weights was 16.16 g, specific growth rate was 6.09%, absolute growth length was 8.92 cm, and survival rate was 89.33%. The water quality parameters were in thetolerance range of catfish where the temperature was 26-28 0C, pH was 5-6, DO (Dissolved Oxygen) was 4.0-5.0 mg/L and ammonia was 0.022-0.085 mg/L. Keyword: Probiotics, Stocking density, Clarias gariepinus, Growth

Abstract

The research was conducted for 30 days from 23 March to 22 April 2015 which was held at the Great Hall Brackishwater Aquaculture Development Jepara, Central Java Province. The aim of this research to determine the different salinity for growth and survival rate of Western white prawns (Litopenaeus vannamei). The method used is the experimental method with completely randomized design (CRD) of the factor with 3 levels a treatment. The treatment was applied, namely P1 of salinity 15 ppt, P2 of salinity 20 ppt, P3 of salinity 25 pptThe best result showed that salinity 15 ppt. Total absolute body weight, absolute body length, daily growth rate and survival rate was 2.09 grams, 6.60 cm, 0.07 grams/day and 94.7 % respectively. Water quality parameters were recorded namely a temperature is 29.1-31.6 oC, pH 7.9-8.1 and dissolved oxygen 3.84- 4.97 ppm. Keywords: Western white prawns, Salinity , Growth, Survival Rate.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn the cultivation of soft shell crab (Scylla serrata), the duration of moulting is absolutely necessery. Moulting stimulation method of mud crab is the one way to increase soft shell crabproduction. This aims of the study was to determine the effect of eye ablation on the moulting duration of male mud crab. This study uses experimental method and Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which is 4 treatmen levels and 3 repetitions. This study uses 48 male mud crabs. Moulting stimulation methods in this study are right eye ablation, left eye ablation, right and left eye ablation and without ablation (control). Observed parameter includes length of sampling, specific growth rate, survival rate and water quality. The results showed that right eye ablation was the best treatment in accelerating the duration of moulting of 20 days, specific growth rate of 1.74%, and survival rate of 83.33%. Based on the results of the study concluded that the right eye ablation method is good to be applied in stimulating mud crab moulting in increasing the production of soft shell crab.  Keywords : moulting; ablation; moulting period; Growth; Survival Rate;Scylla serrata; Mud Crab

Abstract

This research was conducted from May until June 2016 at Laboratory Aquaculture ofTechnology Faculty Fisheries and Marine Science, University of Riau. The purpose of thisresearch was to investigate growth and survival rate of striped catfish with probiotics dosage isdifferent in bioflocs techniques. This research using experimental method and completelyrandom design (RAL) one factor with three treatment there are P0: without giving probiotics(control), P1: probiotics giving 5 ml/m3, P2: probiotics giving 10 ml/m3, P3: probiotics giving 15ml/m3. The result showed that maintenance striped catfish with probiotics dosage is differentgiving affect significantly on the growth of absolute weight, absolute length growth, but notaffect significantly on the survival rate and food efficiency, specific growth rate and foodconversation rate (FCR). The best treatment were obtained in treatment three (P3) withprobiotics dosage giving 15 ml/m3 with value growth of absolute weight 7,08 gram, growth inabsolute length 3,85 cm, specific growth rate 3,69 %, food efficiency (EP) 70,06 %, foodconversation rate (FCR) 1,51, flock volume 2,1 ml and survival rate 58 %.Keyword : maintenance fish with probiotics dosage giving is different

Abstract

The research was conducted on 18th March to 23rd April 2015 atBrackishwater Aquaculture Development Center Jepara, Central of Java. The aimof this research is to determine the optimum percentage of feed in shrimpsenlargement activity. The Completely Randomized Design was applied in thisresearch with one factor and three replication. Treatment consist of feed pellets; P1(15% from biomass/day), P2 (25% from biomass/day), P3 (35% frombiomass/day), P4 (45% from biomass/day) and P5 (55% from biomass/day). Awhite shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) in length of 1,62 cm and body weight of0,05 g were reared in bucket (15 unit) with 120L capacity and density of 100tail/bucket. During experiment, the shrimps were fed on pellets four times daily. The results showed that the different percentage of feed gave effect for whiteshrimp growth. The best percentage of feed is 25% from biomass/day (P2) wasoptimum and gave the total weight with 0,934 g, total length 4,042 cm, specificgrowth rate 9,76%, and survival rate with 95,33%.Keywords : Litopenaeus vannamei, percentage of feed, growth rate

Abstract

The research was conducted for 30 days from september to october 2014 which was held at the Great Hall of Freshwater Aquaculture Sukabumi, West Java Province. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth rate and survival rate of prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergi De Man) with extensive shelter different method used is the experimental method with completely randomized design (CRD) of the factor with 3 levels of treatment. Ie P1 spacious shelter 30% of the area of the container, broad P2 shelter 60% of the total container broad P3 shelter 90% .of the vast container.Best results showed that the spacious shelter of 90% growth in absolute weight (4.48 grams), the growth of the absolute length (4.11 cm), daily weight growth rate (2.40%), survival (97%) higher in comparison with treatment spacious shelter 60% and 30%. each. Water quality parameters are recorded as temperature 24-26º C, 7.45 to 8.83 pH, and dissolved oxygen between (7.7 to 8.17 ppm). Keywords: Prawns, spacious shelter , tokolan, growth
