Abstract

Overseas students are students who study far from their home area and certainly far from family and close friends, so sometimes they are required to be independent and must be able to adapt to their new environment. As final students who are working on their final project, one of the challenges encountered is their ability to overcome difficult times in the process of working on their thesis, one of which is the decline in the level of optimism, so that the role of the environment and the closest people is needed to increase optimism in students. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between social support and optimism in regional students who are working on their final project. The subjects of this study amounted to 110 people who were regional students from various universities in Central Java. In this study using incidental sampling method for sampling technique. The measuring tools used are the social support scale and the optimism scale. The social support scale measures three sources of social support, that came from family, friends, and supervisors. Based on the results of data analysis, the value of the correlation coefficient of family social support with optimism of 0.530 with sig was obtained. = 0.000 for the family social support variable, then for the social support aspect of friends, a Pearson correlation value of 0.584 with Sig was obtained. = 0.000, and for the third aspect of social support, namely the supervisor, a Pearson Correlation value of 0.612 was obtained with SIG. = 0.000, where p<0.05, which means that there is a positive relationship between the three aspects of social support and optimism in regional students who are working on their final project.

Abstract

Children's ability to cope, the existence of social support both from family and friends contribute to the emergence of positive development in children including metal health even though children are faced with various problems and stressful situations in the LPKA environment. The purpose of the study was to determine the description of psychological well-being in LPKA students. By using qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews (interviews). The data analysis technique uses 3 data analysis according to Miles and Huberman in Sugiyono, namely reduction, presentation and conclusion drawing. Subjects in this study amounted to 3 people. The results showed that there was a good Psychology Well-being phenomenon from the three subjects in LPKA students. In the Autonomy dimension, there is the ability of the three subjects to regulate their lives and actions such as diligent worship and respect for parents. Environmental control can also be seen from the three subjects in the act of adjusting to socializing, discussing and participating in coaching activities. The implication in this study is one of the most important things that must be considered, namely, how the positive impact of parents on their children.Kemampuan anak dalam melakukan koping, adanya dukungan sosial baik yang bersumber dari keluarga maupun teman memberikan kontribusi terhadap munculnya perkembangan positif pada diri anak termasuk kesehatan metal meskipun anak dihadapkan pada berbagai masalah dan situasi menekan di lingkungan LPKA. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran psychological well-being pada anak didik LPKA. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan interview (wawancara). Teknik analisis data menggunakan 3 analisis data reduksi, penyajian dan penarikan kesimpulan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini berjumlah tiga orang. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa adanya fenomena Gambaran Psychological Well-Being Anak Didik Pemasyarakatan Di Lembaga Pembinaan Khusus Anak baik dari ketiga subjek pada anak didik LPKA. Pada dimensi Otonomi (Autonomy), adanya kemampuan dari ketiga subjek dalam mengatur hidup dan tindakannya seperti rajin ibadah dan hormat terhadap orang tua. Penguasan lingkungan juga tampak dari ketiga subjek dalam tindakan penyesuaian diri dengan bergaul, berdiskusi dan mengikuti kegiatan pembinaan. Impilaksi dalam penelitian ini adalah salah satu hal terpenting yang harus diperhatikan yaitu, bagaimana dampak positif dari orang tua terhadap anaknya.

Abstract

This study is based on the tragic event of a group of terrorists that occurred on May 11, 2021 in Kalimago Village, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi. The terror killed four civilians who were working in their gardens. Losing family members due to tragic events can cause various emotional reactions, which makes their lives difficult. In this study, the context of the victims referred to is families whose members died as a result of acts of terrorism, and are called secondary victims. The victims' daily lives are disrupted by feelings of grief, helplessness, despair, revenge, and very severe trauma. It is very important for victims to have a good mental state at this time. Therefore, psychological well-being is very important for victims to have. Using a qualitative research method, case study approach to P1 and P2, this study aims to explore the description of the psychological well-being of Poso terrorism victims. The results of the study showed that the victims did not have good psychological well-being because the trauma had not recovered and prevented the victims from functioning fully. In addition, the researcher found that the social context that was expected to help victims recover from trauma was not optimal.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine whether there is a simultaneous influence of social support and cultural orientation on the stress level of correctional inmates in Rutan Class II B Salatiga. One hundred thirty-two prisoners participated in the study. This study used a quantitative approach with regression analysis to answer the research objectives. The measuring tools are the Social Support Scale (α=0,912), Cultural Orientation Scale (α=0,722), and DASS-21 (α=0,846). The results showed no significant effect between social support and cultural orientation on the stress level of WBP in Salatiga Rutan. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that most of the participants' stress and social support were moderate, and all participants had a high vertical collectivism cultural orientation. So, the detention center needs to pay attention to the condition of the inmate's stress level and minimize the factors that can affect stress. Keywords: stress, social support, culture orientation, correctional inmates, COVID-19 pandemic Abstrak Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh dukungan sosial dan orientasi budaya secara simultan dengan tingkat stres Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan di Rutan Klas II B Salatiga. Sebanyak 132 orang Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan menjadi partisipan. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi berganda untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Skala pengukuran yang digunakan adalah Social Support Scale (α=0,912), Cultural Orientation Scale (α=0,722), dan DASS-21 (α=0,846). Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan secara simultan antara dukungan sosial dan orientasi budaya dengan tingkat stres Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa stres maupun dukungan sosial sebagian besar partisipan berada pada tingkat sedang dan seluruh partisipan memiliki orientasi budaya vertical collectivism pada taraf tinggi. Untuk itu pihak Rutan perlu memperhatikan kondisi kesehatan mental Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan dan meminimalkan faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhinya. Abstract

Social interaction is an important skill for individuals to build relationships with others, especially in higher education environments with diverse cultural backgrounds. One internal factor that can influence social interaction skills is self-confidence. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-confidence and social interaction skills in Pinaesaan ethnic students in Salatiga. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research sample consisted of 78 Pinaesaan ethnic students selected using an accidental sampling technique. Data collection was carried out using a self-confidence scale and a social interaction ability scale arranged on a Likert scale and distributed through Google Forms. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson Product Moment correlation test with the help of SPSS version 24. The results showed a positive and significant relationship between self-confidence and social interaction skills in Pinaesaan ethnic students in Salatiga (r = 0.328; p < 0.05). This indicates that the higher the level of self-confidence, the better the social interaction skills. Conversely, the lower the self-confidence, the lower the social interaction skills. These findings indicate that self-confidence is a psychological factor that plays an important role in improving the quality of students' social interactions in a multicultural academic environment.
