Abstract

Indonesia is one of the developing countries that has a major problem, namely the relatively high unemployment rate. This high unemployment rate causes an open unemployment rate. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of the influence of population, wages, and the human development index on the open unemployment rate in Central Java Province in 2016-2020. The open unemployment rate is the dependent variable, while the population, wages, and the human development index are independent variables. This study uses a quantitative descriptive approach with secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency for a period of 5 years starting from 2016-2020 consisting of 35 districts/cities. The analytical technique used is panel data regression analysis using Eviews 9 software.

Abstract

Purpose: This research, employing a quantitative methodology, seeks to enhance the understanding of the Female Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) in ASEAN countries. By analyzing statistical data over an extended period beyond 2018-2021, the study aims to uncover the nuanced relationships between female LFPR as a dependent variable and GDP, fertility rate, and female education as independent variables. Research Methods: This study applies quantitative research methods and utilizes secondary data published by the World Bank. The data that has been collected is then analysed using panel data and CEM, FEM, and REM regression techniques. Results: GDP exhibits a significant and positive correlation. Meanwhile, fertility rate and female education also have a significant but each has a negative correlation with Female LFPR. Aplication/Originality/Value: This study analyses economic issues in developing countries in ASEAN, to better understand the dynamics of female LFPR and can become the basis for policies to empower the female labor force in the sector of the region under study. These concise implications provide a strategic roadmap for policymakers and organizations striving to empower women and drive sustainable economic development in the region.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to determine the impact of zakat, investment, and consumption on economic growth, with the ultimate goal of achieving sustainable SDGs. The research focuses on zakat variables as a means to bolster Indonesia's economic growth, consumption, and investment. It emphasizes the importance of synergizing these factors to enhance economic growth and welfare, including poverty alleviation, wealth redistribution, and increased employment opportunities. Methodology: The research methodology involves economic data analysis, a comprehensive literature review, and the utilization of the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) model. This model is used to explore and unveil how zakat, investment, and consumption collectively influence economic growth. Results: States that zakat and consumption variables have a positive and significant impact on economic growth. Indicates that the investment variable does not affect economic growth. Applications/Originality/Value: Emphasizes the necessity of the government's role in considering zakat instruments while creating regulations to boost economic growth, particularly in poverty alleviation and fair distribution of income and consumption. Urges the government to seek increased investment in the country to stimulate job availability, aligning with the SDGs' goal of "no poverty".

Abstract

This study analyzes factors affecting BRI Syariah Bank's profitability in Indonesia. This study sampled BRI Syariah Bank's 2013-2020 yearly financial statements that fit the study's requirements. Data for Bopo, Nim, Inflation, and Roa come from the official BRI Syariah bank and Bank Indonesia (BI) websites for 2013 – 2020. This study uses the ROA ratio as a metric of BRI Syariah Bank's profitability and BOPO, NIM, and Inflation as independent variables. This study uses the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) data analysis method to obtain a thorough picture of the relationship between variables using Eviews10 software. According to study, BOPO negatively affects ROA (Return on Assets). Operating Costs and Operating Income (BOPO) are less significant than required. The study shows that BOPO has a detrimental impact on ROA (Return on Assets). NIM and inflation study results had little impact on BRI Syariah Bank's ROA. This study reveals that Islamic banks are resilient to inflation and don't rely on profit margins. This study suggests Islamic banks reduce operating costs to boost profitability.
