Abstract

Tree locations  and crown positions was assumed to have effects on adsorption of dust and Pb particles by leaves.  The objectives of the research were: (a) to determine the effects of tree locations and crown positions on adsorption of dust and Pb particles of leaves in roadside vegetation; (b) to determine the pattern of dust and Pb particle adsorption of leaves in roadside vegetation; (c) to determine correlation between dust and Pb concentration. Leaves samples was taken from the front and back part of the crown of three trees from each of the first three rows of the roadside vegetation.  The samples were used to analysis dust and Pb concentration.   The results showed that  tree locations and  crown positions  affected adsorption of dust and Pb concentration of leaves. There was no interaction between tree locations and crown positions, but there was a decreasing trend from front part of the crown of trees1 until back part of the crowns of tress3.  There was a correlation (R2= 0,755) between dust concentrations and Pb concentrations with equation of Y= 0,1403X-41,686 (Y= Pb concentration ; X= dust concentration). Keywords: roadside vegetation, Pb, dust, concentration, adsorption

Abstract

Global warming is the increase temperature of the atmosphere, ocean and terrestrial ecosystem that lead to global climate change. The global warming caused by the increase of atmospheric green house gases (GHGs), such as CO2, SOx, NOx and CH4. Deforestation will cause the increase of atmospheric GHGs, meanwhile reforestation will lowering atmospheric GHGs. In urban environment, Urban Open Space instead of enhance the aesthetical aspect of town, it also contribute to atmospheric carbon absorbtion through photosynthesis process and store the carbon in the form of biomass. The objectives of this research are to determine the potential of carbon stocks and analyze the relationship between LAI with potential carbon stocks in trees, Basal area, stand density at Tahura Pancoran Mas, Depok.  Biomass of trees and woody nekromass calculated based on allometric equations, the calculated carbon content of 47% of the biomass. Carbon stocks potential in Tahura Pancoran Mas, Depok was 33,92 Mg/ha or carbon stocks potential with an area of 6 ha was 203,52 Mg C. The result of regression analysis shows that a relationship between LAI with stand density has the strongest relationship than the other. Selected regression model to estimate LAI is the stand density = -10,2 + 227 LAI with R2 is 0.60 and has a value of accuracy is 12,08%. Keywords: carbon stocks, LAI, stand density

Abstract

Orange Footed Scrubfowl (Megapodius reindwart Dumont 1823) is classified as protected bird based on the Preservation of Plant and Animal Species of  Ministry of Enviromental and Forestry Decree No. 92/2018. As a natural park, TWA of Gunung Tunak serves as a natural conservation area (NCA) which has a basic function as a conservation area designated as a recreation area and nature tourism. Associated with its function then TWA of Gunung Tunak has an important role in supporting the conservation of wild animals especially Orange Footed Scrubfowl and the implementation of recreational activities and natural tourism in a sustainable manner. The objectives of this study were to analysis the preferential habitats of Orange Footed Scrubfowl. Based on the results of multiple linear regression analysis of stepwise method, it can be known that dominant factors to the frequency of presence of Orange Footed Scrubfowl in a selected habitat are the number of predators, the distance from water source, soil texture, and altitude of place with the equation Y = 3.390.96 + 2.28X11 + 0.00084X5 - 0.0117X10 - 0.0034X3. Based on the results of preference index analysis with Neu method, it can be seen that the preferred area of Orange Footed Scrubfowl is only in Block I (w ≥ 1) namely the forest area near Teluk Ujung Coast. Based on the place altitude, the existence of the mound of nest from the sea surface, the Orange Footed Scrubfowl prefer the area at an altitude of 0-25 m above sea level. Keywords: Megapodius reindwart, Nature Tourism Park of Mount Tunak, orange footed scrubfowl, preferential habitat
