Abstract

Analysis of Science Literacy Ability in the Competence Aspect of Class VIII Students of Accredited A Junior High Schools in Rappocini District (Study on the Main Material of the Human Excretory System). Thesis of the Science Education Study Program. Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. Makassar State University (supervised by Mr. Hasanuddin, M. Si. and Mrs. Sitti Rahma Yunus, S. Pd., M. Pd). This study is a quantitative descriptive survey study that aims to determine how high the level of science literacy ability of class VIII students of junior high schools in Rappocini District in the 2023/2024 academic year is in the aspect of science competency in the main material of the human excretory system. The population of this study was 850 class VIII students of junior high schools in Rappocini District, namely SMPN 21 Makassar, SMPN 13 Makassar, and SMPN 33 Makassar. The sample was selected using a random sampling technique so that the sample in the study was 272 students. The research instrument was in the form of 20 multiple-choice questions on the main material of the human excretory system. The data collection technique was by giving tests directly at school. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis. The results of the study were that the level of scientific literacy skills of class VIII students of Accredited A Junior High Schools in Rappocini District was in the "very low" category with a percentage of 42.63%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how high the level of ability of science literacy competency aspects of class VIII students in Polewali District. This research is a descriptive survey research using a quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of grade VIII junior high school in Polewali District as many as 745 students from 3 schools namely SMPN 1 Polewali, SMPN 3 Polewali and SMPN 4 Polewali. Sampling using Random Sampling technique and determining the number of samples using the slovin formula which is 286 students. The research instrument was a multiple choice question of 20 items. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that the level of ability of science literacy competency aspects of VIII grade students in Polewali District is 48.23% which is included in the low category.

Abstract

The reaserch aims to the level of understanding of students' science concepts before and after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom, increasing students' understanding of science concepts after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom, understanding of science concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung Makassar students significantly increased after implementing E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom. The population of this study was all grade VIII students at MTs DDI Gusung Makassar with samples selected using purposive sampling techniques so that the sample in the study was 25 students. The research instrument uses the implementation of E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom with 25 questions in the form of multiple choice and divided into 3 indicators of understanding, namely translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. Based on the results of data analysis, it is known that: (1) The level of understanding of the concept of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students before the implementation of Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Simple Aircraft materials in everyday life is in the category of lacking, (2) The level of understanding of the concept of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students after implementing Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Aircraft material in everyday life is in the very good category, (3) Increased understanding of the concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung students after implementing Google Classroom-based E-LKPD Liveworksheets on Business and Aircraft material in everyday life is in the high category. (4) The understanding of science concepts of grade VIII MTs DDI Gusung Makassar students significantly improved after the implementation of E-LKPD Liveworksheets through Google Classroom.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the level of science process skills scores of experimental and control class students Structured inquiry-based worksheets. 2) the improvement of students' science process skills through the application of structured inquiry-based worksheets in experimental and control classes. 3) the effect of the application of structured inquiry-based worksheets on the science process skills of 8th grade students of SMPIT Nurul Fikri. This type of research is a Quasi-Experiment with a research design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population is all VIII grade students, 2023/2024 school year consisting of 4 classes with a total of 63 people. The sample was selected by purposive sampling, with 2 classes, namely Class VIIIB totaling 18 people as the experimental class and Class VIIIC totaling 22 people as the control class. The research instrument was a science process skills test question. Data collection was done by giving pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that; 1) the level of science process skills of students in the experimental class before applying structured inquiry-based worksheets, was in the medium category with a score of 9.00 and after being applied was in the high category with a score of 12.88 while in the control class before applying conventional worksheets was in the medium category with a score of 10.22 and after being applied was in the high category with a score of 11.54. 2) the increase in science process skills of students who applied structured inquiry-based worksheets was in the medium category with an N-Gain of 0.35. 3) based on the results of inferential analysis that there is an effect of the application of structured inquiry-based worksheets on the science process skills of class VIII students at SMPIT Nurul Fikri.

Abstract

The purpose of research : (1) Determine score learning outcomes of students of VII Class SMPN 18 Makassar (Study on Global Warming) that learned using mind mapping method on discovery learning models, (2) Determine score learning outcomes of students of VII Class SMPN 18 Makassar (Study on Global Warming) that learned using concept mapping method on discovery learning models, and (3) Does the mind mapping method on discovery learning models have more influence on the learning outcomes of VII Class SMPN 18 Makassar (Study on Global Warming) compared to the concept mapping method on discovery learning models. This research is a Quasi Experimental by using a modified research design . The population of this study were all students of class VII of SMPN 18 Makassar . Sampling through purposive sampling technique and obtained class VII 1 as experimental class I and class VII 2 as experimental II. This research instrument is in the form of multiple choice learning outcomes in the form of 20 items that have been validated by experts. Data collection techniques in this study were the provision of pretest and posttest . Data analysis with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results of inferential  analysis using t-test obtained that H0 is rejected by Ha is accepted so that it can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students who are taught using the mind mapping method are higher than the learning outcomes of students who are taught to use the concept mapping method.

Abstract

This research aims to find out: 1) The level of learning outcomes of students in class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar before and after being taught using the DSI model on vibration, wave and sound material 2) The level of learning outcomes of students of grade VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar before and after being taught using the Structured Inquiry model on vibration, wave and sound material 3) The increase in learning outcomes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar after being taught using the DSI model on vibration, wave and sound material 4) The effect of using the DSI model on the learning outcomes of VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Makassar on the material of vibrations, waves and sound. This type of research is Quasi Experiment research with a research design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population is all students of class VIII SMP Negeri 6 Makassar consisting of 11 classes with a total of 373 students. Samples were selected by Purposive Sampling, with 2 classes, namely class VIII.A as an experimental class totaling 26 people and class VIII.E totaling 27 people as a control class.  The research instrument is in the form of a test question on student learning outcomes. Data collection was done by giving Pretest and Posttest. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis so that it was found that: 1) The level of learning outcomes of students before being taught with the DSI model is in the low category. While the category of student learning outcomes after being taught with the DSI model is in the high category with an average score of 14.3. 2) The level of student learning outcomes before being taught with the Structured Inquiry model is in the low category. While the category of student learning outcomes after being taught with the Structured Inquiry model is in the high category with an average score of 13.3.

Abstract

This study aims to find out 1) improvement of science process skills of the students of eight grade SMPN 40 Makassar taught using guided inquiry model in the subject matter of work and simple plane, 2) improvement of science process skills of the students of eight grade SMPN 40 Makassar taught using conventional learning model in the subject matter of work and simple plane, and 3) the effect of the guided inquiry model in improving science process skills of eight grade SMPN 40 Makassar taught using conventional learning model in the subject matter of work and simple plane. This research is quasi-experimental research (quasi-experiment) with Nonequivalent Control Group Design research design. The population of this research is all students of eight grade SMPN 40 Makassar. Sampling uses Purposive Sampling technique so that it is obtained class VII.2 as the experimental class and class VIII 2 as the control class. Data processing result of this study using descriptive analysis, the mean N-gain score of science process skills of students in the experimental class is 0,71 in the high category and the control class is 0,61 in the medium category. Based on results of infertial statistical analysis using hypothesis testing, it was found that Ho was rejected and H1 was rejected so that it could be concluded that there was an influence of guided inquiry learning model on science process skills of eight grade SMPN 40 Makassar study in the subject matter of work and simple plane.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMPIT Nurul 'Ilmi Tenggarong, especially when learning is carried out online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to determine the use of the Problem Based Learning model in improving the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMPIT Nurul 'Ilmi Tenggarong. This research is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles. The stages in conducting this research include planning, implementation, observation, and reflection carried out in each cycle. The data collection technique uses written tests in the form of multiple choice questions and observations. Data analysis is carried out by comparing the evaluation scores of each cycle based on the minimum completeness criteria, namely ≥ 70. The subjects of the study were 15 class VIII Halimah students. The results of this study indicate that there has been an increase in student learning outcomes. The improvement is known from the results of student learning evaluations, namely in cycle I, 11 students or 73.3% completed with an average score of 74.67 and in cycle II, 13 students or 86.6% completed with an average score of 82.00. The results of this study can be concluded that online learning using the Problem Based Learning model can improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMPIT Nurul 'Ilmi Tenggarong.

Abstract

This research aims to determine: 1) the level of learning motivation category of class VIII students at SMPN 27 Makassar before and after the application of Doratoon- based animation media. 2) the increase in learning motivation of class VIII students at SMPN 27 Makassar through the application of Doratoon- based animation media. 3) whether the application of Doratoon- based animation media can significantly increase learning motivation in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar. The types of this research are Pre- Experimental Design research and One Group Pretest- Posttest Design research design. The population of this research is all students in class VIII of SMP Negeri 27 Makassar for the 2023/2024 school year, the sample was 25 students selected by purposive sampling. The research instrument is a learning motivation questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis concluded: 1) the motivation category and learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar before application of Doratoon- based animation media obtained an average learning motivation score of 69.92 which was in the medium category, whereas after application of Doratoon- based animation media, an average learning motivation score of 76.76 was obtained, which was in the high category. 2) the increase in learning motivation of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar through the application of Doratoon- based animation media obtained an average N- Gain on learning learning motivation of 0.21 which is in the low category, 3) the determination of Doratoon- based animation media can significantly increase learning motivation in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 27 Makassar.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) how much the improvement of science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar after applying the SETS approach, 2) whether there is a difference in the average score of significant improvement in the science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar before and after applying the SETS approach. This research is a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttets Design research design. The population of this study were all students of class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar as many as 3 classes with a total of 91 students. Sampling through purposive sampling technique so as to obtain VIII C with a total of 24 students. The research instrument was a science literacy test. Data were analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the analysis concluded that 1) the increase in the science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar who were taught using the Science, Environment, Technology and Society (SETS) approach of 0,31 was in the medium category, 2) there was a significant difference in the average score of the increase in the science literacy abillity of students in class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 54 Makassar before and after the application of the SETS approach.
