This research is motivated by the lack of understanding of mathematical concepts class VIII SMPN 22 Padang 2013/2014 school year . This study aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts using techniques Spotlight accompanied quiz better than that using conventional learning and see how the development of students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying spotlight with a quiz on the class VIII SMPN 22 Padang . This type of research is the design of experimental studies Against Random Subjects . Instrument used was a quiz and test understanding of mathematical concepts in the form of essays with a reliability test r11 = 0.861 . The data analysis technique used is the one party t test with the help of MINITAB Software . Based on the average values obtained quizzes every meeting that the development of understanding of mathematical concepts SMP 22 eighth grade students has increased Padang . And test the hypotheses derived P-value = 0.024 < α = 0.05 , then the hypothesis in this study received the students understanding of mathematical concepts using techniques Spotlight accompanied quiz better than students understanding of mathematical concepts using conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 22 Padang 2013/2014 Academic Year .

The research was motivated by the studentsâ comprehension of math concept are still low at SMPN 14 Padang. This research aims to determine the studentsâ comprehension of math concept that apply Two Stay Two Stray better than studentsâ comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning in class VIII SMPN 14 Padang. The type of research is experimental by using Randomized Control Group Only Design. The data analysis technique used is T-Test one part the help of MINITAB. The result of hypothesis test obtained P-Value = 0,011 is less than α = 0,05, then the hypothesis in this research received. In conclusion, studentsâ comprehension of math concept that apply Two Stay Two Stray type better than studentsâ comprehension of math concept that apply conventional learning.

This research is based by the understanding of mathematical concept that still low for some student. Student also lack of understanding every material that they noted. This research is also to find out how the development the understanding of student mathematical concept with applying the active learning strategy "guide note taking" type in the math learning of class VII student SMPN 34 padang and to know that the understanding of student mathematical concept with the applying the active learning Guided Note Taking  type is better than applyinh a conventional learning of class VII student SMPN 34 padang. Type of research is experiment research with random design research to subject the population of research is class VII student SMPN 23 padang periode 2012/2013. The sample taking technique did as random. Class chosen as experiment class and as control class, the research instrument is quiz and understanding of mathematical concept is test like essay with realibility test 0,88. Analytic technique data using test t one side with minitab help. Based on data analytic result, it found that both sample classes are distributted nornally and homogen. The result hypothesis test got from p-value same as 0,048, it means smaller than a = 0,05, so the research hypothesis accepted and we can get the conclusion that the understanding of student mathematical concept with active strategy Guided Taking Note type better than the convensional learning with 95% level trust.

Students comprehension of mathematical concepts is one of the factors that affect the learning outcomes of Mathematics. Students comprehension of mathematical concepts are still low in the SMPN 11 Padang seen from the results obtained studying Mathematics. The research aims to determine whether the students comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply SAVI approach with techniques Numbered Head of Structured better comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional learning students at class VII SMPN 11 Padang. This type of research is experimental research, the design of randomized trials on the subject. The research instrument was a test of comprehension of mathematical concepts. Form of test used is a form of essays with a reliability test = 0.945. Based on hypothesis testing with MINITAB obtained P-value = 0.017, it can be concluded that the students comprehension of mathematical concepts that apply SAVI approach with techniques Numbered Head of Structured better comprehension of mathematical concepts with conventional teaching students in class VII SMPN 11 Padang with level 95 %.

Background of this research is studentâs grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang comprehension of mathematical concepts still low. In that case endence when studentâs are less active in the learning process. The purpose of this research is to know how studentâs activity in the learning process by using the power of two and four strategy and to know what is studentâs comprehension of mathematical concept at grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang by using the power of two and four strategy better than convensional model. Kind of this research is experimental researcd,becides research plan is random on subject. The population is studentâsat grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang academic year 2013/2014. To take sample in this research is randomly so that, the researchergotten grade VIII.5 as experiment class and VIII.4 as control class the instrumentation is used in this research is comprehension test of mathematical concept. Type of test is used type essay with realibilitas test is . Tecnique of analysis data is t-test one side by using software minitab therefore, the final analysis with a = 0,05 be obtained P-value = 0,003, because P-value minus for a, so hipothesis is accepted in this research. So that it can be concluded that studentâs comprehension of mathematical concept is treated by using the power of two and four strategy better than studentâs comprehension of mathematical concepts is treated by using convensional model at grade VIII SMPN 1 GunungTalang.

The research is introduced by the lack of the students understanding of mathematical concept and students prefer to copy paste their friends exercise without paying attention it is right or wrong. This research is aimed to know the students understanding of mathematicalconcept by using learning model of Cooperative type Numbered Heads with LKS better than the students understanding concept by using conventional learning at class IX SMP PERTI Padang. The type of this research is experiment. Population in this research is students class IX SMP PERTI Padang who registered in academic year 2013/2014 that consists of three class. The tecgnique of sampling is random and selected class IX.1 as an experimental class and class IX.2 as control class. Insrument used was final test contain mathematical concept umderstanding indicators in the from of essay. Technique of data analysis used was Mann-Withney test with MINITAB sofware. Based on the hypothesis obtained P-value = 0,003, because p-less than α = 0,05 so the hypotesisis accepted the students understanding of mathematical concept by using Cooperative type Numbered Heads learning with LKS is better than students understanding mathematical concept by using conventional learning at class IX SMP PERTI Padang.

ABSTRACTThis research was designed for determining whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Think Talk Write cooperative learning model was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 28 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. The data was collected by using a posttest on mathematics conceptual understanding. The result of hypothesis test showed that P-value (0,0000) was smaller than α = 0,05 indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Thus, it was concluded that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Think Talk Write cooperative learning model was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class VIII of SMPN 28 Padang.

ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by less students are responsible for completing the tasks assigned teacher and students are less motivated to follow the learning of mathematics as well as students understanding of mathematical conceptual are still low. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of Prediction Guide strategies could give a better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics conceptual than the conventional one in class VII MTsN Lubuk Buaya Padang.This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The instrument used in this research is a test in studentsâ understanding on mathematics conceptual. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was distributed normally and had homogeny variant. Hypothesis test results obtained t=2,09 was bigger than  indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. So, it was concluded that the application of Prediction Guide strategies could improve the studentsâ understanding on mathematics conceptual, and better than the conventional one.

This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of Team Assisted Individualization strategies could give a better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept than the conventional one in class VIII SMPN 1 Mapat Tunggul Selatan. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The instrument used in this research is a test in studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was distributed normally and had homogeny variant. Hypothesis test results obtained t=1,94 was bigger than , indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. So, it was concluded that the application of Team Assisted Individualization strategies could improve the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept, and better than the conventional one.

This research aims to determine whether students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) with Numbered Heads Together (NHT) cooperative learning model better understanding of the mathematical concepts of the conventional learning in class XI IPA SMAN 2 Bayang. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. The instrument used in this research is a test in studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept. Based on the result of data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was distributed normally and had homogeny variant. Hypothesis test results obtained t = 2,71 was bigger than , indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. So, it was concluded that the application of STAD with NHT cooperative learning model could improve the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept, and better than the conventional one.
