ABSTRACTThis research was motivated by the students understanding on mathematics concept that still low thus causing students mathematics learning outcomes also becomes low. This research was aimed at revealing whether the use of cooperative learning and asking questions circulate hat techniques better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept than the conventional one in class VIII of SMPN 23 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random research design toward the subject. Population in this research is all class student of VIII SMPN 23 Padang. Technique intake of sampel conductedat random, choosen as class of sampel is VIII1 as experiment class and of VIII3 as control class. The instrument used in this research is a test in studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept with a reliability test r11 = 0.88 . The data  was analyzed by using t-test. . Based on the result of data analysis known that thitung = 5,37 and ttabel = 1,669 with α = 0.05. So thitung > ttabel it can be concluded that the application of students understanding of mathematical concepts by implementing cooperative learning and asking questions circulate hat techniques are better effect on the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept than a conventional one .Â

ABSTRACT This research is caused students low understanding of mathematical concepts are. Because in learning process is still focus on the teacher . The students still have low ability to explore their idea and to arrange the material . So, one of way to solve this problem is by appliying the ability of Clustering .The goal of this research is to know the influence of clustering toward students understanding of mathematics concepts at grade nine SMPN 4 sutera. Metodology research used experimental research. By using type One Shot Case Study. The population of this research is all grade nine students of SMPN 4 Sutera. In collecting the data by using Sampling simple random sampling, the graden nine (IX2) as experimental class. The final tests is analized by using simple regretion analyze. Thus, the research found the coofesien of corelation r = 0,49. It  means the ability of clustering sampling has influence toward students of understanding of mathematics concepts at grade nine student of SMPN 4 Sutera.

ABSTRACTThis research was aimed at revealing the development of the studentsâ mathematics conceptual understanding and to know whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Guided Note Taking active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class XI IPS of SMA PGRI 1 Padang. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. Based on the result of data analysis, it was found that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students improved from a meeting to next one. In addition, the result of t-test showed that the value of tcalculated (2,40) was bigger than ttable (1,675) in which α was 0,05. This result indicated that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the students taught by using Guided Note Taking active learning strategy was better than that of students taught by using conventional learning in class XI IPS of SMA PGRI 1 Padang.

 ABSTRACT This research was carried out due yo the studentsâ low learning achievement in mathematics in class VII SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This research was aimed at revealing whether the mathematics conceptual understanding of the studentsâtaught by using instant assessment active learning was better than that of studentsâ taught by using conventional learning. This was an experimental research which used random toward the subject design. Based on the result of data analysis it was found that the two sample classes were normally distributed and homogenous. Furthermore, the result of t-test indicated that the value of  was higher than  in which α was 0.05. this result showed that the mathematics conceptual understanding of the studentsâ taught by using instant assessment active learning was better than of studentsâ taught by using conventional learning in class VII SMPN 3 Koto XI Tarusan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan registered in academic year 2013/2014.

ABSTRACT This research was conducted based on the studentâs understanding on mathematics concept was still low and the low curiosity of student to the subject material. This research was aimed at revealing wheather the use of Learning Starts With A Question technique could give a better effect on the studentâs understanding on mathematics concept than conventional learning in class VII SMPN 5 Kota Solok. This was an experimental research which used random desain toward subject. The instrument of the research was test on mathematics concept. The data then was the perceived data analysis the perceived data analysis. Based on the data analysis, it was revealed that the sample was distributed normally and had homogeny variant. The result of hypothesis test showed that p-value (0,023) was smaller than indicating that the hypothesis was accepted. Hence, it was concluded that the application of Learning Starts With A Question technique could improve the studentsâ understanding on mathematics concept better than that of the conventional learning.

ABSTRACTÂ This research was background by the understanding of studentsâ mathematic concept which was still low and the responsibility of students who lack the given task during the learning process takes place. This case saw from the result of learning math by students grade eight at SMP N 17 Padang academic year 2013-2014. The purpose of this research was what is the understanding of studentsâ mathematic concept which applied the active learning strategy type learning tournament better than applied conventional learning for students grade eight at SMP N 17 Padang. This research was experimental research and the research design was random sampling. The population was all of students grade eight at SMP N 17 Padang academic year 2013-2014 which was divided into eight classes. The technique to collect the sample was random, and chooses class VIII 4 as an experimental class and VIII 5 as a control class. The research instrument was understanding test of mathematic concept. The test that used was essay with reability 0,777. The data analysis technique was the one-sided t test with Minitab. Based on data analysis, have known that the sample class did have normal contribution. The result of hypothesis test found p-value = 0,045 little than normal standard = 0,05. So, the hypothesis was accepted. The conclusion was the understanding of studentsâ mathematic concept which applied the active learning strategy type learning tournament better than applied conventional learning. Â

ABSTRACT The background of this research is about students understanding of mathematical concepts is still low. The aims of this research is to know the students understanding of mathematical concepts by strategis to find the information is better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by strategis the information conventional learning in VIII grade SMPN 4 Sutera. The kind of this research is experimental research by random design towards the subject. The population in this research was students in VIII grade SMPN 4 Sutera in school year 2013/2014. The sample Class were chosen is VIII.4 class as experimental class and VIII.2 class as control class . The instrument which was used is final test which is essay  from with reliability is  0.7403. Based on calculations of data analysis using t-test of the side obtained = 2.29 and = 1.645 . So  >  thus it can be concluded that students understanding of mathematical concepts apply strategies the information is better than the students understanding of mathematical concepts by applying conventional learning in VIII SMPN 4 Sutera.

ABSTRACTThe background reason of this research is the understanding of mathematical concept that still low among the 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Lembah Gumanti. The aim of this research is to know whether the understanding of the mathematical concept will be better if cooperative learning method NHT and Sucker Ball game is applied rather that the concept given in conventional way to the 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Lembah Gumanti. The type of this research is experimental research, with random research design to subject. The instrument used for this research is the mathematical concept test and the student activity observation sheet. Data analysis was done by using Mann-Whitney test. Based on the result analysis. , its given that the Zhitung= -2,995 which is smaller than Ztabel, then the hypothesis if the research is acceptable. So it is concluded that the understanding of the mathematical concept of the student will be better by using the cooperative learning method NHT and Sucker Ball game rather than the conventional way of 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Lembah Gumanti.

ABSTRACTThe problem of this research is the students have lack to respond the material and less confident. The purpose this research is to find out how the studentsâ activity in learning mathematic and are the studentsâ comprehension in mathematic concept by applying instant assessment is better than conventional learning. This is an experimental research. The population is students at grade seventh at SMPN 4 Painan. The sample is students VII.1 as experimental class and students VII.2 as control class. The instrument is questionnaire and essay form with reliability is 0,986.An average at experiment class is 77,74 with standard deviation is 8,39 meanwhile control class is 72,73 with standard deviation is 11,17.hypothesis test used t-test one side. An analysis of data thitung is 1,85 and ttable is 1,68. The hypothesis can be accepted. The conclusion is the studentsâ comprehension in mathematic concept by applying instant assessment is better than conventional learning.
