Abstract

Indonesia is a major player in the global tea industry, which has sparked competition among packaged tea brands. Teh Botol Sosro launched a marketing strategy through a YouTube series in collaboration with food vlogger Nex Carlos. Additionally, the majority of consumers read E-WOM before making a purchase. This study aims to determine the influence of exposure to the YouTube series and the intensity of E-WOM on the purchase intention of Teh Botol Sosro products. The theories used are Integrated Information Theory and the Buyer’s Information Environment Theory. The sampling technique used is non-probability and purposive sampling with a sample size of 100 respondents. Data testing was conducted through a simple linear regression test. The hypothesis testing results indicate that the variable exposure to the YouTube series "Aslinya Kuliner Lokal Bareng Teh Botol Sosro" on Nex Carlos' YouTube channel can explain 43.9% with an influence magnitude of 0.347, and the variable intensity of E-WOM in the comment section can explain 41.9% with an influence magnitude of 0.268 on the purchase intention of Teh Botol Sosro products. Therefore, it can be concluded that the higher the exposure to the YouTube series "Aslinya Kuliner Lokal Bareng Teh Botol Sosro," the higher the purchase intention of Teh Botol Sosro products. Similarly, the higher the intensity of EWOM in the comment section, the higher the purchase intention of Teh Botol Sosro products. Thus, the variables of exposure to the YouTube series and the intensity of E-WOM positively and significantly influence the purchase intention of Teh Botol Sosro products. The authors suggest that Teh Botol Sosro consider using these promotional activities in their marketing communication mix while addressing some of their weaknesses

Abstract

The demonstrations by the people of Pati Regency in August 2025, triggered by the 250% increase in the state tax (PBB-P2) and the controversial response of the Pati Regent, received widespread attention on social media. The high level of news coverage is suspected to have influenced public perception of the event. This study aims to determine the effect of the intensity of information about the Pati Regent's demonstration on social media on the perceptions of Pati residents regarding Sudewo's communication style. The study employed cultivation theory with a quantitative explanatory approach. The sample consisted of 100 respondents from Pati Regency residents aged 17 and over, eligible to vote, and active social media users. Data were collected through Gform and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that the intensity of information about the Pati Regent's demonstration on social media has a positive and significant effect on public perception. This is evidenced by a significance value of <0.001 and a calculated t-value of 14.938, which is greater than the t-table of 1.660. The coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.695 indicates that news exposure explains 69.5% of the variation in public perception. This finding suggests that the greater the public's exposure to news on social media, the greater its influence on the formation of public perception.

Abstract

Ride-hailing services in Indonesia operate in a relatively homogeneous market with high price transparency, allowing users to compare fares, promotions, and service availability before booking. This multi-homing behavior makes usage decisions more situational and encourages platforms to emphasize price-oriented messages on social media. In this context, GoRide Hemat and GrabBike Hemat are both promoted as low-cost, affordable, and consistent services. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media marketing exposure on continuance intention, both directly and indirectly through price perception, and to describe the patterns found in both services. This research applies an explanatory quantitative approach using a survey of 160 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Social media marketing exposure was measured through attention and unaided recall, price perception through price acceptability, affordability, and price competitiveness, while continuance intention was measured through continued use, usage preference, and future use intention. The data were analyzed using PLS-SEM with SmartPLS. The findings show that social media marketing exposure has a positive and significant influence on price perception in both services. Price perception also has a positive and significant influence on continuance intention. The direct influence of social media marketing exposure on continuance intention is significant for GoRide Hemat, but not significant for GrabBike Hemat. In addition, the indirect effect through price perception is significant in both services. These findings indicate that price-oriented messages on social media need to be supported by consistent actual prices in the application to strengthen price perception and encourage continuance intention.

Abstract

Verbal sexual harassment is a common experience among female gamers in Roblox through voice chat and public chat features, creating a gender unequal interaction space. This study aims to understand how female gamers construct meanings of verbal sexual harassment experienced in Roblox. Using an interpretive paradigm, this descriptive qualitative study involved seven female gamers aged 18–22 who had experienced verbal sexual harassment in Roblox. Data were collected through in depth interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis, guided by the Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM) theory and Ziyu Deng’s concept of reluctance in recognition. The findings reveal that meaning coordination occurs through four stages: responding to harassment, interpreting others’ reactions, discussing the experience, and establishing a final meaning. Different constitutive and regulative rules at various levels of the hierarchy of meaning lead participants to interpret similar situations differently. The resulting meanings include verbal sexual harassment, ragebaiting, joking, trolling, and hate speech, shaped by prior experiences, situational contexts, and dialogue with others.

Abstract

Mental health stigma is one of the social issues found in society. Stigma is formed through prejudice, stereotypes, rejection, and discrimination experienced by individuals within their social environment. The Korean drama Daily Dose of Sunshine is an audiovisual medium that serves as a platform for representing mental health issues to the public. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach within an interpretive paradigm and utilized John Fiske’s semiotic analysis, which consists of the levels of reality, representation, and ideology. The research data were obtained through observations of dialogues, scenes, and interactions among characters that represent mental health stigma in the drama Daily Dose of Sunshine. The findings reveal that the representation of mental health stigma in the drama is portrayed through various forms of fear and prejudice, labeling and stereotyping, as well as rejection and discrimination toward individuals experiencing mental disorders or those with a history of mental illness. These representations are constructed through dialogues, scenes, and interactions among characters that reflect society’s negative perceptions of mental health issues.
