Abstract

Mantera Media Development is a project aimed at creating effective learning materials for visually impaired students. These materials utilize 3D printing technology and are based on Arduino technology. The development process follows a Research and Development (R&D) methodology with a prototype model approach. This project was conducted at Sriwijaya University's Mechanical Engineering Education Laboratory. The validation results for the learning materials were impressive. Material validation using a Likert scale yielded a perfect score of 100%, indicating high appropriateness and validity. Media validation, assessed using Guttman theory, scored 91%, signifying the media's strong suitability and validity. As a result, these learning materials are considered highly feasible and ready for use in teaching build space concepts to visually impaired students. Mantera's development promises to address the challenges faced in learning space construction, potentially enhancing cognitive and tactile skills. Additionally, it introduces technology-packaged media to the educational landscape.

Abstract

This research was arisen by the lack of an assessment in the form of test items as an interactive assessment for Computer-Based Test (CBT) based on Learning Management System (LMS). Previously, only topic-based tasks were available, particularly lacking in leadership project courses. In practice, assessment mainly relied on tasks in leadership project courses for teacher professional education students (PPG), resulting in suboptimal data collection for measurement which made educators difficult to assess or measure student performance. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the Miles & Huberman model. This study aims to develop effective and efficient measurement data in the form of interactive LMS-based mechanical assessments (CBT). The research involved students who enrolled in the Leadership Project course at PPG Unsri. The research object was the measurement tool results from the collection of data from answered assessment items, to be effectively and efficiently presented in the form of interactive LMS-based mechanical (CBT) assessments. Data collection begins with observation and the creation of item grids. Data analysis techniques use the Miles & Huberman model analysis, which includes four stages: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data analysis was performed using SPSS. The results of this study indicate that the product in the form of LMS-based test items (CBT) is valid and reliable as an assessment tool in leadership project courses at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sriwijaya.

Abstract

The utilise of biogas for remote areas is a problem because it is challenging to supply hydrogen. Hence a study of the utilisation of human fesses as biogas raw material for biogas production is proposed. Due to high investment costs to build miniature power plants, modified gasoline engines are used as mini power plants even though it is a laboratory scale. Based on results, human fesses can be used as raw material for biogas production. Performance engine using biogas derived from human fesses is 9% different from LPG. The maximum efficiency of the biogas system is 32%, and that of the LPG is 41%.

Abstract

Logam ferro (Fe) merupakan material yang memiliki sifat mekanik yang baik dan fisik yang sangat kuat sehingga sering digunakan pada kontruksi bangunan, tapi memiliki kelemahan yaitu mudah mengalami korosi. Sebagai bentuk memelihara keamanan konstruksi bangunan, maka diperlukan suatu perlindungan coating agar korosi yang terjadi bisa diperkecil. Radiator coolant memiliki sifat yang dingin dan cat minyak sebagai coating dalam bentuk upaya mengurangi laju korosi secara pasif dengan memiliki usia pemanfaatan logam ferro (Fe) yang jangka panjang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan penelitian atau riset yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran dari metode coating limbah radiator coolant dan cat minyak berbasis quenching treatment dapat mengurangi permasalahan laju korosi pada logam ferro (Fe). Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan pada pengujian yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa metode coating dengan media limbah radiator coolant dan cat minyak berbasis quenching treatment dapat berperan mengurangi permasalahan laju korosi pada logam ferro (Fe). Kata kunci: Metode Coating, Radiator Coolant, Cat Minyak, Laju Korosi, Quenching Treatment Ferrous metal (Fe) is a material that has good mechanical properties and is very strong physically, so it is often used in building construction, but has the disadvantage of being easily corroded. As a form of maintaining the safety of building construction, a coating protection is needed so that corrosion that occurs can be minimized. Radiator coolant has cold properties and oil paint as a coating in an effort to passively reduce the corrosion rate by having a long term use of ferrous metal (Fe). The purpose of this research is to conduct research or research that aims to determine the role of the radiator coolant waste coating method and quenching treatment-based oil paint in reducing the problem of corrosion rates in ferrous (Fe) metals. Based on the results of calculations in the tests performed, it shows that the coating method with radiator coolant waste media and oil paint based on quenching treatment can play a role in reducing the problem of corrosion rates in ferrous (Fe) metals. Abstract

Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (PPM) yang diselengarakan oleh dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Sriwijaya yang di laksanakan di SMK Gajah Mada Palembang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, kemampuan, dan keterampilan menggunakan aplikasi Autodesk Inventor bagi guru-guru SMK. Kegiatan ditujukan untuk seluruh guru peserta pelatihan yang berasal dari SMK Gajah Mada Palembang. Hasil evaluasi awal menunjukkan tingkatan pengetahuan Inventor guru sangat minim dengan tingkat persentase 80% dari keseluruhan peserta menyatakan belum pernah menggunakan aplikasi Autodeks Inventor. Pelaksanaan dilakukan selama 4 hari menggunakan metode pelatihan Presentasi, Pembelajaran Terbimbing, serta Pendampingan menggunakan media pembelajaran yang di tujukan kepada 20 guru peserta kegiatan. Hasil evaluasi yang didapatkan menunjukkan peserta memiliki tingkat minat tinggi untuk mendalami Inventor dengan hasil rata-rata keseluruhan pemahaman materi 77.75%. Peningkatan kemampuan peserta dalam menggunakan aplikasi Inventor mendapatkan peningkatan dari keseluruhan peserta kegiatan dengan nilai rata-rata kemampuan setiap item materi tinggi, Diantaranya Sketching 81.25%, Constraint Assembly 75.00%, Design Accerelator 87.50%, Animasi Presentation 55.00% dan Penyajian drawing dan Plotting 90.00%.

Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh minimnya fasilitas pembelajaran CNC yang mana. Pemenuhan fasilitas pembelajaran CNC memerlukan biaya yang besar, oleh karena itu diperlukan alternatif sumber pembelajaran yang dapat memfasilitasi kekurangan. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian dan Pengembangan (RnD) yang bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar modul pembelajaran berbasis STEM aplikasi CNC Simulator For Andorid yang valid dan praktis. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa Pendidikan Teknik Mesin FKIP Unsri yang sedang mengambil matakuliah CNC Lanjut. Objek penelitian adalah Modul berbasis STEM pada Materi CNC VMC Simulator for Android. Waktu penelitian adalah tahun 2023. Model pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate). Setelah dilakukan penelitian didapatkan hasil halidasi ahli materi buku panduan CNC diperoleh nilai total berjumlah 347. berada pada kategori SANGAT VALID. Validasi ahli media diperoleh nilai 235 berada pada kategori SANGAT VALID. Hasil uji praktikalitas bahan ajar modul oleh mahasiswa menunjukan tingkat kepraktisan masuk kategori praktis dimana diperoleh Koefisien Reproduksibilitas atau Kr = 0,915 sedangkan Koefisien Skalabilitas atau Ks = 0,835. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa modul pembelajaran berbasis STEM dapat meningkatkan kemampuan peserta didik dalam membuat program CNC.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan IPTEK yang sangat pesat, membuat proses belajar mengalami pertumbuhan. Dunia pendidikan saat ini mengalami perubahan, karena wabah Covid-19. Hal ini memberikan perubahan peraturan serta kebijakan yang diterapkan. Proses pembelajaran mulanya secara langsung menjadi pembelajaran secara online. Pemerintah menerbitkan surat edaran untuk stay at home physical and social distancing. Dalam mewujudkan pembelajaran peserta didik secara aktif pada masa pandemik covid-19 butuh kemandirian belajar yang tinggi supaya proses pembelajaran daring terlaksana secara baik. Pada saat covid-19, kemandirian belajar merupakan salah satu hal penting yang harus dimiliki oleh peserta didik supaya kompetensi belajar yang diinginkan bisa tercapai secara maksimal. Metode penelitian adalah penelitian asosiatif dengan analisis kuantitatif. Adapun hasilnya adalah terdapat hubungan positif dan signifikan antara penerapan sistem pembelajaran daring dengan kemandirian belajar mahasiswa di FKIP Universitas Sriwijaya, besar koefisien korelasi (r) yakni 0,433 dan koefisien determinasi (r2) adalah 0,658. Berdasarkan R Square dilihat besarnya pengaruh kedua variabel sebesar 65,8 %. Kata kunci: Pembelajaran, Daring, Kemandirian, Belajar.

Abstract

This study explores the effect of blade count on the performance of low-scale horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWT) with NACA 0012 profiles using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) methods. The results show that the turbine with three blades achieves the highest efficiency, with a power coefficient (Cp) of 0.54 at a Tip-Speed Ratio (TSR) of 7, while the four-blade turbine reaches a Cp of 0.48 at a TSR of 6. The mechanical power produced by the three-blade turbine is 1,040.81 W, 28% higher than that of the four-blade turbine (927.28 W). The progressive distribution of the pitch angle in the three-blade turbine minimizes the risk of stall and flow separation. These findings suggest that fewer blades can reduce flow interference and vortex-induced losses, making it an efficient solution for the wind energy potential in Indonesia. Future research should explore geometric and material variations for further optimization.

Abstract

The article explored the relationship between the use of teaching materials and the role of students with learning achievement during the COVID-19 period. The research was correlational quantitative approach with research subjects at the Mechanical Engineering Vocational School. Collecting data using interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Pearson Product Moment correlation technique analysis, t-test, and F test, with SPSS software. The results showed that the use of teaching materials is an external factor that supports the effectiveness of student learning outcomes, adds motivation to the spirit of learning, improves skills directly, creates an independent learning atmosphere according to interests, speed and a certain way, was able to independently assess and evaluate the results of using materials. The role of students when learning from home (BDR) was not good enough, caused by various factors, namely the role of educators which must be maximized again, providing motivation and support even though learning was carried out online from home. The role of students, in this case, was actively paying attention to the presentation of learning with modules through the zoom platform, understanding learning materials, summarizing and concluding subject matter, participating actively in asking questions, and responding either individually or in groups. Learning achievement produced by students in the Covid-19 era could not be separated from the effectiveness of using modules, but there were still obstacles experienced by students when learning from home online, less active participation during the learning process, and late in collecting assignments.
