Abstract

This research focuses on Natural Science learning, especially colloid material, where teaching is still dominated by the lecture method. Learning models that encourage students to make direct observations through experiments are rarely applied. This causes students to be less trained in solving problems, so their critical thinking skills are not optimally developed. This study aims to determine the effect of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) learning model on students' critical thinking skills on colloid material at SMA Negeri 1 Telaga. The research design used was pre-experiment with one group pre-test post-test design. The research sample consisted of 29 students selected by census/total sampling. Data collection was done through critical thinking skills test. The results showed that the average percentage of students' critical thinking skills in the pre-test was 46.11%, which was in the medium category, and in the post-test it increased to 83%, which was in the very high category. This shows that the STEM learning model can improve students' understanding and critical thinking skills. The statistical test shows a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, which means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that the STEM learning model has a positive influence on students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Redox reactions are a type of chemical material that contains many concepts and rules that are recognized as difficult to comprehend and comprehend and often give rise to misconceptions in students. This research aims to find out the misconceptions that occur among students in understanding redox reaction material and find out the source of the causes of students' misconceptions. The method used in the research is descriptive qualitative. This research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The subjects of this research were class XII MIPA students at SMAN 1 Limboto with a total sample of 181 people. Identification of misconceptions is carried out using a five-tier multiple-choice test instrument. Student answers from the test are then analyzed and categorized based on the student's level of conception. The research results show that the average percentage of students' conceptions on redox reaction material is 28.6% understanding the concept, 48.2% misconceptions, and 23.2% not understanding the concept. Apart from that, the highest cause of misconceptions comes from personal thoughts at 91.1%.

Abstract

dan solusi yang diberikan dari kondisi tersebut di MTs se-Kota Gorontalo selama masa pandemic Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian survei dengan teknik Cross Sectional Survey, dengan jumlah populasi yakni 3250 peserta didik dengan rumus sample slovin didapatkan sampel responden sebanyak 356 peserta didik yang tersebar secara proporsional di 9 Madrasah Tsanawiyah di Kota Gorontalo. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner terlebih dahulu dilakukan validasi oleh ahli. Teknik analisis data digunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dengan melihat presentase dari setiap pilihan opsi jawaban dari 42 item kuesioner. Analisis deskriptif kualitatif digunakan untuk menjelaskan hasil temuan kuantitatif serta hasil temuan solusi dari permaslahan learning loss. Hasil Penelitian yaitu telah terjadi gejala learning loss peserta didik di MTs se-kota Gorontalo akibat dari system pembelajaran selama masa pandemic covid-19, diantaranya adalah kurangnya waktu belajar efektif bagi peserta didik, kurangnya intensitas interaksi guru dan peserta didik, terjadi penurunan konsentrasi belajar, terjadi kesulitan pemahaman terhadap pelajaran, kurangnya dukungan madrasah terhadap sumber belajar peserta didik, pembelajaran daring sangat banyak kekurangan, kurangnya pemerolehan pelajaran tambahan di luar pembelajaran madrasah, turunnya pemahaman pembelajaran terhadap semua pmata pelajaran, kurangnya bantuan/pendampingan serta motivasi belajar dari orangtua. Adapun rekomendasi solusi yang bisa diberikan adalah mulai dari pemerintah, madrasah, guru sampai kepada orangtua harus bersinergi mengembalikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta didik yang hilang selama masa pandemic covid-19

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a problem-based learning model based on higher order of thinking skills. The research method used is the ADDIE Research and Development model which is limited to the Analysis and Design Steps. The tools developed are RPP, LKPD, Assessment Instruments. The results of the research are that the HOTS-based and Literacy-based PBL learning device products have real characteristics in learning, arranged systematically with PBL syntax, will develop HOTS and student literacy. and the final product of the learning device meets the valid criteria seen from the validator score. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan kimia pupuk NPKyang dan mengetahui kualitas kompos dari sacha inchi. Analisis kandungan Nitrogen (N) dengan menggunakan metode Kjedahl, Fosfor (P) menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-VIS, Kalium (K) menggunakan spektrofotometri serapan atom, dan analisis kualitas kompos di uji berdasarkan tekstur, warna dan bau. Hasil analisis menujukkan bahwa kandungan nitrogen (N) memiliki nilai 0,32%, fosfor (P) memiliki nilai 1,90% dan kalium (K) memiliki nilai 0,32%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa hasil analisis kandungan NPK dari pupuk organik berbasis sacha inchi untuk kandungan fosfor (P) dan kalium (K) serta uji kualitas kompos diperoleh tekstur seperti tanah, warna kehitaman dan berbau tanah, hasil tersebut telah memenuhi standar SNI 19-7030-2004 tentang spesifikasi kompos dari sampah organik domestic.

Abstract

Sungai Bone salah satu sungai di Gorontalo yang menjadi sumber air untuk mencuci, mandi, minum dan sebagai mata pencarian bagi nelayan untuk menangkap ikan yang sering dikonsumsi oleh masyarakat setempat. Namun, masyarakat sering membuang sampah di sungai tersebut, mengakibatkan sampah akan terakumulasi ke dalam badan ikan dan akan berbahaya jika di konsumsi. Kebaruan dalam penelitian yaitu penggunaan metode spektroskopi untuk meneliti kandungan logam berat pada air dan ikan nike. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis kandungan logam berat Timbal (Pb), Besi (Fe), dan Kadmium (Cd) pada air dan ikan nike di perairan Sungai Bone, Kota Gorontalo menggunakan metode Spektroskopi. Pada air menggunakan metode Spektroskopi Uv-Vis dan pada Ikan Nike menggunakan metode SSA. Hasil penelitian kandungan logam sampel air yaitu kadar logam Pb titik 1 dan 2 yakni 0,7025 dan 0,7051 ppm, logam Fe titik 1 dan 2 yaitu 0,2789 dan 0,3161 ppm dan logam Cd titik 1 dan titik 2 yaitu 0,2306 dan 0,2543 ppm, sampel ikan nike kadar logam Pb pada hari 1 dan 2 yakni 0,00681 dan 0,00564 ppm, logam Fe pada hari 1 dan 2 yaitu 0,01442 dan 0,03196 ppm dan kadar logam Cd pada hari 1 dan 2 yaitu 0,00826 dan 0,00994 ppm. Kesimpulannya kadar logam Cd dan Pb pada air sudah melebihi ambang batas, kadar logam Fe masih di bawah ambang batas ,dan sampel ikan nike kadar logam Pb, Fe dan Cd masih di bawah kadar ambang batas sesuai SNI yang sudah ditentukan sehingga masih layak untuk dikonsumsi.

Abstract

Understanding chemical equilibrium concepts poses significant challenges for high school students due to the topic’s abstract and complex nature. This literature review identifies key factors contributing to these difficulties, including widespread misconceptions, cognitive and pedagogical barriers, and environmental influences such as family support and learning resources. The review highlights the importance of constructivist and cognitive learning theories in designing effective instructional strategies that actively engage students and facilitate deeper conceptual understanding. Furthermore, the integration of educational technologies—such as interactive simulations and virtual laboratories—provides enriched learning experiences that help overcome conceptual misunderstandings. An integrated approach combining innovative teaching methods and technology use is recommended to enhance students’ comprehension of chemical equilibrium. Future research should focus on practical applications of these models and evaluate their effectiveness across diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of coconut pulp and seawater compost on the growth of lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L). This type of research uses a quantitative method. Based on the results of the study, the treatment of coconut pulp and seawater compost on the most optimal plant height is the treatment on the 28th day because there is the greatest potential difference in treatment compared to other days and the treatment of coconut pulp and seawater compost on the optimal number of leaves is the treatment on the 42nd day, especially in treatment 5 which produces the highest number of leaves.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how nano chitosan is produced through the ionic gelation method. The process of making nano chitosan is carried out using variations in chitosan concentrations of 1%, 5%, and 10%, and using a magnetic stirrer. Morphological tests were carried out using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to observe the shape and size of the particles formed. The addition of TPP (Trisodium Tripolyphosphate) as a crosslinker and certain surfactants are used to increase particle stability. Treatment for ±2 hours showed optimal results in terms of a more homogeneous particle size distribution. Based on the results of SEM observations, it is known that increasing the concentration and time settings and the use of appropriate surfactants can reduce wrinkles in nano chitosan particles. The particle size obtained is in the range of 278–350 nm. Thus, the ionic gelation method has proven effective in producing uniform nano chitosan and has good morphology for further applications.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep hidrolisis garam melalui penerapan pendekatan multi representasi di SMAN 1 Dungaliyo. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi siswa adalah kesulitan menghubungkan konsep makroskopik, mikroskopik, dan simbolik dalam pembelajaran kimia, yang mengakibatkan rendahnya pemahaman konseptual dan tingginya tingkat miskonsepsi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui empat tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi, dan tindak lanjut. Strategi pembelajaran mencakup pelatihan guru, pengembangan media visual dan LKPD, serta implementasi pembelajaran berbasis eksperimen, simulasi, dan notasi simbolik. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterkaitan representasi kimia, kemampuan menentukan sifat larutan, menyusun reaksi dan menghitung pH, serta koreksi terhadap miskonsepsi. Lebih dari 80% siswa menunjukkan partisipasi aktif dan minat belajar yang meningkat. Pendekatan multi representasi terbukti efektif dalam menciptakan pembelajaran kimia yang bermakna, kontekstual, dan menyenangkan.
