Abstract

Objektif. Tujuan pelatihan pemanfaatan Flip-book berbasis screencast-o-Matic video sebagai model pembelajaran dengan system asynchronous pelatihan untuk mengembangkan, membekali, menambah wawasan soft skill tenaga pendidik di SMK Alkhairat Pulau Morotai dalam mengoperasikan media pembelajaran berbasis e-learning dimasa penyebaran wabah Covid-19. Material dan Metode. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi, ceramah, diskusi, dan pelatihan. Khalayak saran pelatihan yaitu tenaga pendidik di SMK Alkhairat Pulau Morotai. Waktu pelaksanaan program pengabdian masyarakan yaitu pada tanggal 27 Oktober 2021 di SMK Alkhairat Pulau Morotai, Kecamatan Morotai Selatan, Kabupaten Pulau Morotai. Hasil. Peserta pelatihan program pengabdian masyarakat sangat merasa puas dengan padanya pelatihan e-learning system jaringan asynchronous. Kesimpulan. Selama proses pelatihan peserta pelatihan memperoleh wawasan baru tentang medesign bahan ajar dengan menggunakan Flip-book berbasis Screencast-o-Matic video dengan system asynchronous, dimana model pembelajaran ini dapat diterapkan pada proses belajar mengajar jarak jauh khususnya di daerah 3T dimasa pandemic. Respon positif yang diperlihatkan oleh peserta pelatihan membuktikan bahwa aplikasi Flip-book berbasis SoM dengan system asynchronous sangat penting untuk diterapkan di daerah daerah dengan akses internet yang buruk.

Abstract

Writing is one of the difficult skills in English that must be mastered for English language education students in Indonesia. One of the reasons is because of the different grammar rules between Indonesian and English, which needs to be overcome for students' writing to increase by using the Google Meeting APP in the learning process. This study aimed to find out the effect of the Google Meeting App as electronic feedback in learning to improve students’ writing skills. This study was quasi-experimental in design. This was conducted in UIN Raden Intan Lampung, the fourth semester, students’ English Language Education. This had a sample of 30 students as a cluster class in this study. To collect data in this study used a pretest and a post-test. The SPSS 16.0 App was used to analyze the data for this study. This study shows that using Google Meeting APP as electronic feedback in learning can improve students’ writing skills. This means that this Google Meeting App had a good effect in the learning process, as students' writing skills improved.

Abstract

The study examined the effect of Google Classroom on students' grammatical competence. The experiment was followed by a test. The group that received therapy was the experimental group, whereas the control group received no treatment. Using SPSS, the T-test was used to determine if the pre- and post-test scores of the control and experimental groups differed significantly. The results of the investigation were 1). the pre- and post-test mean scores for the control and experimental groups differ considerably. This indicates that the use of Google Classroom greatly improved students' Ekonomi Syariah performance in present grammar from excellent to very good. 2). the post-test mean scores of the control and experimental groups vary significantly. The usage of Google Classroom had a considerable impact on the test performance of the experimental group in particular.

Abstract

Coronavirus disease 2019 stroke the world at the end of 2019 and influenced greatly to all of the sectors. One of the sectors is education. Similarly, when the pandemic ended gradually in 2022, learning returned to normal but required gradual adjustments because both instructors and students had become proficient with online learning. Blended learning is a suitable teaching and learning strategy for the current environment. Blended learning is a combination of online and in-person instruction. Given the widespread use of blended learning today, the researcher intends to investigate students' attitudes toward blended learning in the post-pandemic period. This investigation included 29 students from the English Department at IAIN Ponerogo. The results indicated that the majority of students have a favorable view of blended learning. Two fair attitudes showed in student-student interaction and the contribution of blended learning toward the improvement of their skills.

Abstract

The influence of the mother tongue on second language acquisition has been widely studied, yet its specific impact on Indonesian learners of English remains underexplored. Grounded in the theoretical framework of language transfer and contrastive analysis, this study examines how the Indonesian language affects English pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary acquisition. The research employed a qualitative approach, analyzing the linguistic patterns of Indonesian EFL learners through phonological, syntactic, and lexical perspectives. Findings indicate that phonological interference leads to sound substitution and syllable epenthesis, while syntactic transfer results in grammatical errors such as auxiliary omission and incorrect word order. Additionally, lexical interference causes misinterpretations due to false cognates and direct translations. These findings highlight the persistent influence of the mother tongue in shaping English proficiency. The study suggests that increasing exposure to authentic English input and employing explicit linguistic instruction can mitigate these challenges. Future research should explore intervention strategies and assess the long-term impact of language transfer. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of second language acquisition in multilingual contexts and offers pedagogical insights for EFL teachers in Indonesia.

Abstract

Higher education research plays a crucial role in shaping academic quality and advancing knowledge, making it essential to map the methodologies applied in order to assess the direction and relevance of scholarly work. This study focused on mapping the prevalence of research methods employed in higher education studies in Lampung Province, specifically examining the tendencies towards quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches, as well as the extent to which new methodologies such as digital ethnography and participatory action research have been adopted. A systematic literature review was conducted on articles, undergraduate theses, master’s dissertations, and doctoral research produced in universities across Lampung between 2015 and 2025, involving identification, classification, and comparative analysis of research methods. The findings reveal the dominance of quantitative approaches, although the past five years have shown a significant increase in qualitative and mixed-methods studies. Meanwhile, innovative methods remain rarely applied but indicate promising potential for future development. The conclusion highlights that methodological choices are not merely technical decisions but also reflections of academic culture and institutional capacity, suggesting that diversifying methodologies is vital to enhance research quality and strengthen its relevance to local contexts.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to develop a character-based thematic English module and assessment to enhance the quality of English learning at SD Al Hikmah Semarang. The subjects involved in this program include English teachers and Grade 6 students who participated in the implementation and evaluation stages. The program employed several steps: needs analysis, module and assessment design, expert validation, revision, and limited classroom implementation. Qualitative data were collected through observations, interviews, and field notes. The results indicate that the developed thematic module is contextually relevant, engaging for students, and effective in supporting more communicative and meaningful English learning. The character-based assessment also enables teachers to monitor students’ behavioral development and language skills more systematically. Overall, this program concludes that the character-based thematic module and assessment are feasible to be used as supporting learning materials in primary school English education.

Abstract

This study looks at the challenges university students face in English writing classes at STAIN Mandailing Natal, Indonesia, using a qualitative approach. Writing is often seen as one of the hardest skills in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), especially at the university level, where students must produce academic texts. Although English academic writing is becoming more important in higher education, there has been little qualitative research on students’ writing challenges in Indonesian Islamic universities, particularly in regional areas.This study employed a descriptive qualitative design and included undergraduate students enrolled in English writing courses at STAIN Mandailing Natal. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and students’ reflections on their writing experiences. Thematic analysis was used to find common patterns in students’ writing difficulties and their views on teaching practices.The findings reveal four major themes of challenges: linguistic challenges, cognitive and rhetorical challenges, affective challenges, and instructional challenges. Students reported difficulties in grammar usage, limited vocabulary, and sentence construction. They also struggled with organizing ideas, developing arguments, and maintaining coherence in academic writing. Affective factors such as writing anxiety, low confidence, and fear of making mistakes further hindered students’ engagement. In addition, students perceived that instructional practices and feedback were often insufficient to support their writing development. The study concludes that English writing challenges among Indonesian EFL university students are multidimensional and context-dependent. The findings suggest the need for more student-centered, process-oriented, and context-sensitive writing instruction. This study contributes to the EFL writing literature by providing empirical insights from an under-researched Islamic higher education context in Indonesia.

Abstract

pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pendidikan karakter pada proses belajar di sanggar belajar sentul, kuala lumpur, malaysia. pendidikan karakter menjadi elemen penting dalam membentuk sikap, moral, dan nilai positif pada anak-anak. terutama di lingkungan yang dimiliki keragamaan budaya dan tantangan sosial. kegiatan ini melibatkan pendampingan secara langsung, pembinaan karakter berbasis nilai-nilai universal, serta pelatihan kepada pengajar untuk mengintegrasikan aspek pendidikan karakter dalam metode pengajaran. melalui pendekatan ini, diharapkan anak-anak di sanggar belajar sentul dapat mengembangkan perilaku yang positif, etika yang baik, serta memiliki landasan moral yang kuat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Students writing skills are a key component of language learning. Nevertheless, in practice, teachers provide little feedback, and many students struggle to improve their writing. Electronic feedback has evolved into a powerful method for facilitating students' writing growth in the digital age. The objective of this study is to investigate the use of electronic feedback via Microsoft Word to maximize students writing development. A qualitative descriptive research design was used, with participants comprising 15 fourth-semester undergraduate students. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and the analysis of students' written assignments. The findings indicate that feedback received electronically in Microsoft Word, such as through comments and track changes, assists students in recognizing errors in their writing (grammar and vocabulary) and revising it more effectively. In addition, this type of feedback boosts students' motivation and engagement with the writing process. Therefore, electronic feedback in Microsoft Word can be considered an effective strategy for supporting students writing development in English language learning.
