Abstract

In agriculture, ANOVA is often used to determine the effect of different treatments (categories) on the response (continuous). Research in the field found many cases that aim to evaluate the difference in treatment where the response in the form of data count. In this study, ANOVA will conduct a one-way ANOVA analysis study on the response in the form of count data by applying one-way ANOVA standard, transformation  and poisson approach. The data used are six datasets to observe the number of corn pollen sprouts. The results showed the statistical decisions of the six datasets gave consistent decisions on each method. The performance of the standard one-way ANOVA method and poisson approach provides the same conclusions to each dataset. Based on AIC and BIC criteria, poisson approach is recommended in response data count especially count data that contains zero value. This method does not require assumptions of normality and homoscedasticity to be met.

Abstract

Drought stress using mannitol can inhibit the germination of rice variety seeds. These studies typically produce time-to-event data and censored observation. Survival analysis techniques are valuable for accounting for these non-germination events, as they describe how germination probability changes over time based on the likelihood of seed development. Until now, there have not been survival studies regarding rice germination affected by drought stress in Indonesia. Thus, we investigated the germination probability of three rice varieties (Inpari 19, Inpari 32, and Inpari 49) under drought stress using survival analysis. The seeds were germinated in 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% concentrations of mannitol and evaluated daily over 14 days. Our results demonstrated that higher mannitol concentrations significantly decreased the germination percentage and delayed germination time. The survival rates varied significantly between different mannitol concentrations, highlighting the adverse effects of drought stress. However, there was no significant difference in the probability of seed germination among the varieties treated with 2% mannitol. Among the varieties studied, Inpari 19 is more likely to be drought-resistant compared to Inpari 32 and Inpari 49. It is based on the highest germination percentage, shortest germination time, and highest probability of germination compared.

Abstract

Cekaman kekeringan memberikan dampak pada padi sawah tadah hujan di dunia sebesar 23 juta hektar. Pengujian cekaman kekeringan pada stadia perkecambahan padi dapat dilakukan dengan larutan osmotik mannitol. Penelitian mengenai toleransi cekaman kekeringan menggunakan mannitol pada stadia perkecambahan padi belum pernah dilakukan di Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mensimulasikan tekanan osmotik dan mengidentifikasi batas toleransi cekaman kekeringan terhadap kinerja fisiologis benih padi varietas Inpari 19, Inpari 32 dan Inpari 49. Percobaan simulasi tekanan osmotik (0 MPa, -0.03 MPa, -0.05 MPa, -0.08 MPa dan -0.11 MPa) menggunakan konsentrasi mannitol (0%, 2%, 4%, 6% dan 8%) diterapkan pada benih padi Inpari 19, Inpari 32 dan Inpari 49. Parameter daya berkecambah, kecepatan tumbuh, indeks vigor, panjang akar, jumlah akar dan panjang kecambah diamati sebagai respon fisiologi penanda perkecambahan toleran cekaman kekeringan. Analisis non parametrik diterapkan pada penelitian ini, karena seluruh respon fisiologi benih tidak memenuhi asumsi normalitas dan homogenitas ragam. Hasil uji Bredenkamp menunjukkan perbedaan konsentrasi mannitol yang menghasilkan tekanan osmotik berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap fisiologi benih varietas Inpari. Penurunan tekanan osmotik dibawah perlakuan mannitol mengakibatkan penurunan nilai DB, IV, KCT, PA, JA dan PK dari varietas Inpari 19, Inpari 32 dan Inpari 49. Ketiga varietas padi yang digunakan mempunyai toleransi cekaman kekeringan pada media tanam dengan tekanan osmotik sebesar -0.03 MPa (mannitol 2%).

Abstract

Banana (Musa spp.) is an important horticultural plant with a high variety in Indonesia; yet, knowledge on the morphological characteristics of indigenous bananas in East Java remains inadequate. This research aims to identify the variation and classify banana cultivars in East Java based on morphological character. The exploration was conducted using the accidental sampling method. The observations include 15 qualitative and 9 quantitative characters. Descriptive statistics were used to evaluate the data, followed by cluster analysis using the average linkage method and Euclidean distance. The exploration resulted in 15 banana cultivars with varying morphology. The cluster analysis shows banana cultivars can be divided into four major groups. The first group includes six banana cultivars distinguished by many hands per bunch and a short petiole length. The second group comprises seven banana cultivars with medium leaf length and stem diameter, with Morosebo and Musang being the outliers. The third and fourth groups have only one banana cultivar, Musang and Agung, respectively. The Musang banana has distinct physical characters, most notably a large stem diameter, whilst the Agung banana has a longer fruit length and wider fruit circumference than others. The coefficient of variation (CV) is moderate, with the fruit length, fruit circumference, fruit stem diameter, and stem diameter all having a CV greater than 47%. Thus, they have the potential for further development through plant breeding programs

Abstract

This study evaluated the genetic variability, explored trait interrelationships, and identified efficient physiological quality traits of soybean seeds using multivariate techniques. Fourteen soybean varieties were evaluated based on twelve physiological quality traits related to germination and vigor tests. The data for each trait was analyzed using genetic variability estimation, analysis of variance, Tukey post-hoc test, and multivariate analysis. The findings indicated that most traits exhibited high genetic variability and high heritability, particularly in TSW (CVg=22.72%, h_x^2 =99.79) and SDM (CVg=26.59%, h_x^2 =94.98). There were no significant differences in SEF and SDMF among the fourteen varieties. Correlation analysis revealed significant positive relationships between TSW and SDM (r=0.95, p<0.05), as well as between G and TTZ (r=0.75, p<0.05). In contrast, TSW and SDM showed negative correlations with GSI and SEF. PCA analysis revealed two PCs explained 68.54% of the total variance. The PCA biplot indicated that G, FGC, GSI, and SL were the most efficient traits for assessing the physiological quality of soybean seeds. Heatmap clustering further revealed that six varieties (Gepak Kuning, Demas 1, Devon 1, Deja 1, Dering 1, and Dering 3) grouped in Cluster II were the most genetically divergent among those evaluated.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi saat ini sangat pesat dan kompetensi digital menjadi hal yang penting bagi peserta didik. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mensosialisasikan pentingnya literasi digital dan pengenalan serta praktek penggunan aplikasi Canva. Peserta kegiatan ini adalah siswa-siswi SMA Bima Ambulu. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Sosialisasi yang disampaikan tentang pentingnya literasi digital dan manfaat penggunaan Canva. Kegiatan dilanjutkan dengan praktek menggunakan Canva untuk membuat powerpoint dan poster. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre dan posttest, serta tugas individu. Kegiatan ini dikatakan berhasil karena terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Keberhasilan kegiatan karena antusias peserta, serta dukungan dari pihak sekolah.

Abstract

Classroom Action Research is conducted to improve teacher competency and professionalism in classroom learning activities. The results of classroom action research are presented in the form of a research report which among the processes requires data analysis, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. This community service activity was carried out in 2 stages, namely socialization and training, and continued with assignments. The target of the activity is the KKG Gugus 04 Arjasa. The training includes graphical presentation of data, frequency tables, comparison of the averages of two populations independently (independent t-test) and comparison of the averages of two populations in pairs (dependent t-test) using the Ms.Excel program. Based on the results of the evaluation of the assignment, it shows that the implementation of the training has met the specification standards set by the team and is capable based on the Cp index and statistically controlled process using I-MR.

Abstract

Pisang merupakan komoditas hortikultura strategis di Indonesia yang berpotensi ekonomi tinggi, namun belum sepenuhnya dimanfaatkan petani kecil di pedesaan. Salah satu kendala utamanya terbatasnya akses terhadap bibit unggul yang sehat dan seragam. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan memberdayakan Kelompok Wanita Tani Srikandi di Desa Pace Kabupaten Jember melalui budidaya bibit pisang hasil kultur jaringan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Participatory Rural Appraisal mencakup penyuluhan dan diskusi interaktif, serta praktek budidaya pisang di pekarangan. Tim juga menyalurkan bibit pisang unggulan hasil kultur jaringan. Kegiatan ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta terkait pemahaman kelebihan bibit kultur jaringan, keragaman jenis pisang unggul, penyiapan lahan, penanaman hingga perawatan. Adopsi bibit hasil kultur jaringan dapat mengurangi risiko penyakit, mendukung produktivitas dan keberlanjutan budidaya pisang.

Abstract

Luas daun merupakan salah satu parameter penting untuk menentukan produksi pakcoy (Brassica rapa L). Pengukuran luas daun secara non-destruktif salah satunya dapat dilakukan dengan pendekatan model persamaan matematika melalui regresi kuantil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menduga model luas daun pakcoy dengan faktor alometrik dan pendekatan non-destruktif menggunakan regresi kuantil. Metode penelitian dilaksanakan dengan mengumpulkan data sampel daun diperoleh dari tanaman pakcoy secara acak dari berbagai level kanopi tanaman pakcoy (lower, middle dan upper) dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 163 daun. Variabel pengamatan dalam penelitian adalah lebar, panjang dan luas daun pakcoy. Metode pendugaan model luas daun dilakukan dengan pendekatan regresi OLS dan kuantil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model regresi kuantil dapat direkomendasikan untuk menduga luas daun pakcoy secara non destruksi dan cepat dengan ketepatan akurasi tinggi. Model yang dapat direkomendasikan untuk menduga luas daun pakcoy secara non-destruksi, sederhana, dan akurat yakni LA0.5 = 0.393 +0.705LW.Kata kunci: kuantil, luas daun, non-destruksi, pakcoy, regresi

Abstract

Secondary dormancy in lettuce seeds which is triggered by high temperatures and darkness is caused low germination in nurseries. This issue must be solved to obtain high-quality seeds. The experimental design used factorial randomized complete block design, i.e., 6-benzyladenine concentration (0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.5, 1 mM) and radiation treatment (light, dark, red light 1, 2, 3 hours) with 3 replicates. The lettuce varieties used Grand Rapids (GR) and Ava Red (AR). The parameters observed were the percentage of seed germination (SG), seed vigor index (SVI), seed growth rate (SGR), and fresh seed that did not grow (FSdnG). Data were analyzed using ANOVA, the treatment which showed significant effect further tested using Duncan Multiple Range Test at α = 5%. The result showed that GR seed without BA soaking resulted in higher SG (39.20%), SVI (26.13%), SGR (12.04%), also lower FSdnG (6.13%). The highest percentage of SVI in GR seed was reported on light treatment (26.93%). Radiation of red light for 1 hour without seed soaking in BA produced higher SG (76%) and SGR (29.98%) in Ava Red. The highest percentage of SVI in Ava Red was obtained from seeds without soaking in BA (53.33%) and germinated in light conditions (34.93%).Keywords: BAP, photodormancy, red light, skotodormancy
