Abstract

The construction of hotels in the Special Region of Yogyakarta for the last 10 years has met with resistance among the public. This of course comes with reasons that are felt important by the community. The purpose of this paper is to find out the actors involved in the Resistance, the forms of resistance, and the reasons why people carried out resistance. This research method uses qualitative research methods. As for data collection through secondary data obtained through online mass media. The research findings show that: 1) The actors involved in this resistance are the community consisting of various layers, namely the people who are directly affected, and the people who are not directly affected. Apart from that, there are also NGO affiliations (such as One Name NGO). (2). Forms of resistance were carried out through real protest actions, either through demonstrations, installing banners, or drawing murals. (3) The reason for the community's resistance is due to more environmental aspects (social and environmental in general). There seems to be a social impact, and an environmental impact (environmental pollution, decreased water debit because water is sucked up for the benefit of the hotel).

Abstract

One of the most important assets in developing ecotourism is natural conditions that have marketability to tourists, while still paying attention to sustainability. As an active volcano, Mount Merapi in Yogyakarta has great potential to be affected by natural disasters caused by volcanic activity. This research aims to look at the development of volcanic ecotourism after the disaster. This research uses a case study, with interview and literature study data collection techniques. The theory used in this research is social capital from Robert Putnam. The results of this research found that after the eruption disaster, ecotourism in the Mount Merapi area experienced a decline in visitors, but this did not last long. What is quite interesting is that after the 2010 volcanic eruption disaster in the Mount Merapi tourist area, many new tourist attractions emerged that exist to this day. Meanwhile, during Covid-19, tourist attractions were in a slump due to government restrictions on activities outside the home so that tourists were reluctant to come on tour. However, after Covid-19, Mount Merapi Ecotourism quickly adapted and activities returned to normal, starting to attract visitors.

Abstract

Early childhood is a golden period of physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth and development. During this period, optimal stimulation is required so that children's potential can develop and flourish to the full. Early childhood development focuses on cognitive and physical-motor aspects.  Cognitive linguistics is concerned with how humans think when they speak, and how they speak when they think about something.  Syntaxic studies the organization and relationship between words and words, or between words and larger units, or between larger units in language. Syntaxic ability is problematic because linguistic cognitive ability is problematic. Indeed, syntaxic and cognitive linguistic ability are linked to the way human beings process language. The impact of a syntaxic ability problem is the construction of incoherent, ungrammatical and inefficient sentences. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between linguistic cognitive ability and syntaxic ability.  This research method is cross sectional study. The sample for this study consisted of 59 early childhood.  Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman Rank method.  The results of the analysis obtained a significant value (p-value) of 0.000. The significant value of the test is less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), which means that there is a significant relationship between linguistic cognitive ability and syntaxic ability of early childhood in Surakarta

Abstract

Background: Reading ability in children aged 7-8 years is a critical foundation for academic and cognitive development. However, data indicates that 60% of Indonesian 2nd-grade students lack optimal reading fluency, facing challenges such as phonological difficulties, sentence structure comprehension, and limited literacy stimulation at home. Objectives: This study aims to analyze factors influencing reading ability in children aged 7-8 and identify effective remediation strategies. Methods: A systematic review was conducted, analyzing 5 selected articles from Google Scholar (2020–2025) using keywords related to reading fluency and school-age children. Results: Findings revealed that reading difficulties stem from internal (motivation, phonological awareness) and external factors (parental involvement, book access). Multisensory interventions, parental guidance, and balanced literacy methods significantly improved reading skills. Conclusion: Enhancing reading ability requires collaborative efforts among schools, families, and policies promoting inclusive literacy access.
