Abstract

Kimia sebagai mata pelajaran adaptif hendaknya dapat menunjang mata pelajaran kejuruan yangada di SMK kompetensi keahlian Analisis Pengujian Laboratorium (APL). Salah satu sumberpermasalahan yang terdapat di SMK adalah tidak tersedianya bahan ajar kimia yang berhubunganlangsung dengan materi kejuruan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisiskebutuhan materi kimia siswa SMK Kompetensi Keahlian APL pada mata pelajaran analisismikrobiologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif evaluatif denganpendekatan kualitatif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara terhadap guru kimia (C1) dan gurukejuruan APL (C2 dan C3) dan pengisian lembar review. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwamateri kimia yang dipelajari masih terlalu umum dan tidak terdapat kesesuaian dengan materikimia yang dibutuhkan untuk menunjang siswa dalam mempelajari mata pelajaran analisismikrobiologi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa materi kimiayang sesuai untuk menunjang mata pelajaran analisis mikrobiologi, yaitu meliputi sifat asam basapada zat warna, materi dan perubahannya, unsur, senyawa, dan campuran, konsentrasi larutan,persamaan reaksi kimia, dan indikator asam-basa.

Abstract

The Rutaceae family is a family known to have antioxidant activity, one of the species included in the Rutaceae family is Acronychia pedunculata (L.) Miq commonly known as smidra. Plant parts of Acronychia pedunculata (L.) Miq such as roots, stems, leaves and fruit are used for traditional medicine for diarrhea, cough, asthma, wounds, boils, itchy skin, scales, pain and rheumatism and can be used as a fever reducer and can be used for the treatment of digestive tract disorders such as ulcers and intestinal infections. This study aims to determine the phytochemical profile and antioxidant activity of Acronychia pedunculata (L.) Miq smidra wood. In this study, the phytochemical profile analysis test was carried out, including the test of simplisia characteristics, monitoring the spectrum pattern using FTIR and chromatogram pattern using KLT and antioxidant activity test using DPPH method. The results showed that Acronychia pedunculata (L.) Miq smidra wood contains acetophenone derivative compounds with at least 5 compound components. Antioxidant activity test with DPPH method produces IC50 of 9.68 ppm which is included in the category of very strong antioxidants.

Abstract

Chemistry learning has evolved into various interdisciplinary laboratory practicum activities. The Project-Based Learning (PjBL) Model is one of the innovative strategies that can improve students' high-level skills in mastering chemical concepts and applications broadly and deeply. This research aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of research developments, relevant topics, and future research opportunities related to the use of project-based learning models in chemistry learning applied in the last decade (2014-2024). The keywords used are project-based learning, chemistry learning, and chemistry education. The results of the search through the Scopus database obtained 365 articles published during 2014-2024, then 319 articles were selected based on predetermined criteria. The results showed that the frequency of research on project-based learning in chemistry began to increase significantly in 2018 and reached a peak in 2021. Chemistry topics that are mainly researched using the project-based learning model are organic chemistry, chemical analysis, green chemistry, and chemistry practicum. The potential research in the future are related to ICT-assisted with project-based learning model such as augmented reality in chemistry learning, the implementation of Project-Based Learning model in inorganic chemistry content, and the link between the PjBL model and curriculum development in the field of chemistry education. This study is expected to help researchers who will conduct and determine the main topics relevant to the domain of project-based learning in the context of chemistry learning.

Abstract

Andaliman (Z. acanthopodium DC.), a plant belonging to the Zanthoxylum genus, is widely found in North Sumatra. Z. acanthopodium DC. has been traditionally used by local people to treat various diseases. Several secondary metabolites have been reported from the Zanthoxylum genus, including coumarins, flavonoids, lignans, terpenoids, steroids, amides, alkaloids, and phthalate derivatives. In this study, a phthalate derivative compound has been successfully isolated from the non-polar fraction of the stem wood of Z. acanthopodium DC., which was identified as di-(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate according to IR and NMR spectroscopic analyses.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pendampingan penulisan proposal penelitian bagi siswa Madrasah Aliyah (MA) dan anggota Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) Kimia di kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan, dengan tahap 1, 2, dan 3 berturut-turut dilakukan secara online-offline-online. Dari hasil workshop P2M ini diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa kegiatan pembinaan siswa MA dan guru-guru MGMP Kimia di wilayah Tasikmalaya terlaksana dengan baik pada setiap tahapnya. Kegiatan ini telah membantu siswa dalam menyusun draf proposal penelitian Olimpiade Penelitian Siswa Indonesia (OPSI). Dari kegiatan ini diperoleh 13 judul proposal yang dianggap layak untuk diikutsertakan pada kegiatan OPSI. Dari seluruh judul tersebut, terdapat 11 judul proposal yang berhasil lolos seleksi.This community service aims to provide an assistance in writing research proposals for the members of chemistry subject teacher deliberation (MGMP) and Madrasah Aliyah students in Tasikmalaya. The community service activities were carried out in three stages, with stages 1, 2, and 3 conducted online, offline, and online, respectively. Based on the results of this workshop, we concluded that the assistance program was executed effectively at every stage. This program helped students in preparing a draft research proposal for the Indonesian Student Research Olympiad (OPSI). Through this program, we generated 13 proposal titles deemed suitable for participation in OPSI. Out of these titles, 11 successfully passed the selection process.

Abstract

Sustainability has become an increasingly important global issue in education, especially in the context of chemistry education for the 21st Century. Chemistry learning that focuses on sustainability aims to increase students' knowledge of environmental issues and equip them with the skills and values needed to create a sustainable society. Scientific literacy is one of the skills that can be developed if chemistry learning applies appropriate learning models and focuses on sustainable content. This study aims to explain how project-based learning with sustainability content in chemistry learning can develop scientific literacy. The research method used a literature review. The study results show that project-based learning with sustainability in chemistry learning can encourages scientific literacy because students actively collaborate to explore sustainability issues and involve them in real-world projects that require critical, creative, and innovative thinking to solve problems and develop sustainable solutions. If these skills are developed, they can improve students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an organic compound textbook for the Seaweed Agribusiness Expertise Program at vocational high schools. The research method used is a mixed method with an educational reconstruction model that focuses on content structure analysis. Content structure analysis is carried out through literature studies, subject matter clarification, and concept modification and refinement. Validation by experts was carried out to see the suitability of the indicators and learning objectives, as well as the suitability of the textbook with the BSNP criteria. The characteristics of the resulting textbook use problem-based learning syntax. The textbook consists of four chapters and several sections related to the expertise program, in the form of knowledge, information, and applications about seaweed. The assessment of the textbook includes the suitability of the learning objectives with the text in the textbook. The results of the expert assessment of the textbook show the suitability of the indicators with the learning objectives and the suitability of the learning objectives with the textbook text. All indicators and learning objectives obtained a CVR value calculated above the critical CVR value of 0.622 for seven validators, namely CVR = 1.00, so that it can be accepted or declared valid. The suitability of the textbook with quality criteria based on BNSP includes the aspects of content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language and graphics with percentages of 86.68%, 94%, 100%, and 100%, respectively. The results of this study indicate that the developed organic compound textbook has met the validity criteria and is feasible for use in learning in vocational high schools with the Seaweed Agribusiness Expertise Program. This textbook is expected to be a reference for vocational high school students to improve their understanding of the organic compounds found in seaweed so that they can be utilized in seaweed cultivation and processing practices.

Abstract

Nine resorcinol derivatives were evaluated for their ability to inhibit yeast α‐glucosidase using the in vitro method. Three molecular docking programs (Autodock Vina, Autodock4 and DockThor) were employed to determine the binding energies. The results showed that two resorcinol derivatives possessing butanoyl (1) and butyl (9) groups demonstrated good inhibitory activity against α‐glucosidase, with IC50 values of 75.9 and 33.3 µM respectively, compared with other derivatives (2–8) and acarbose (IC50 = 832.8 µM). Furthermore, molecular docking indicated that compounds 1 and 9 had better binding affinities than acarbose and the native ligand. Both compounds showed similar interactions with Asp349 and Glu408, which were associated with acarbose and the native ligand. Moreover, molecular dynamics analysis indicated that compound 9 exhibited greater stability than compound 1 when complexed with α‐glucosidase. Therefore, compound 9 has the potential for further studies, both in vitro and in vivo, to evaluate its toxicity, side effects and efficacy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh fermentasi dengan nanas dan jenis metode ekstraksi terhadap Kadar Total Fenol dalam bubuk minuman mirip kopi yang terbuat dari biji kurma (Phoenix dactylifera L.). Biji kurma terlebih dahulu difermentasi menggunakan nanas, kemudian dikeringkan dalam oven, disangrai, dan digiling menjadi bubuk. Proses ekstraksi dilakukan dengan tiga metode: dekokta, maserasi etanol, dan seduh dingin. Kadar total fenol diukur menggunakan metode Folin-Ciocalteu dan hasilnya dinyatakan dalam mg GAE/g. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fermentasi meningkatkan kadar fenol pada semua metode ekstraksi yang diuji. Kadar fenol tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan fermentasi yang dikombinasikan dengan metode maserasi etanol, yaitu sebesar 124,265 mg GAE/g, sedangkan kadar terendah terdapat pada perlakuan tanpa fermentasi dengan metode seduh dingin, yaitu sebesar 36,123 mg GAE/g. Metode ekstraksi maserasi etanol terbukti paling efektif dalam mengekstrak senyawa fenol jika dibandingkan dengan dekokta dan seduh dingin. Dengan demikian, kombinasi fermentasi dan maserasi etanol merupakan perlakuan terbaik untuk meningkatkan kadar total fenol pada tepung biji kurma.
