Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test the  antioxidant activity of kepuh seed extract (Sterculia foetida) as well as its potential in neutrophil testing for mouse immunity (Mus musculus). This study was experimental by looking at the number or ratio of neutrophils in mice that had been given stress treatment in the form of wounds on the body of mice after being given kepuh seed extract. The antioxidant activity test is carried out using the DPPH method, while the neutrophil test can be carried out using the flow cytometry method. The results of the antioxidant activity test using the DPPH method (IC 50) showed a result of 18.0361 mg/mL. The regression results of levels (mg/mL) vs antioxidant activity (%) showed that the higher the level of kepuh seed extract, the higher the percentage of antioxidant ability available. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that; (1) The concentration of 18.0361 mg/mL in chickpeas (Sterculia foetida) can inhibit free radicals in the body, so it can be said that chickpeas (Sterculia foetida) have strong antioxidant activity; (2) The higher the content of kepuh seed extract, the higher the percentage of antioxidant ability.

Abstract

Salah satu komoditi perairan NTT yang sangat potensial adalah rumput laut. Berbagai macan spesis rumput laut berpeluang untuk diproduksi menjadi nori. Nori adalah lembaran rumput laut yang memiliki kandungan nutrisi tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisikokimia produk nori yang berbahan dasar rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii dan daun kelor (Moringa oleifera L.) Metode peneletian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan one-way Anova (anova satu jalur), kemudian dilanjutkan dengan Duncan’s New Multiple Range (DNMRT). Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah nori formulasi rumput laut Kappaphycus alvarezii dengan daun kelor yaitu P1 (100% Kappaphycus alvarezii), P2 (80% Kappaphycus alvarezii: 20% daun kelor) dan P3 (60% Kappaphycus alvarezii: 40% daun kelor). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa formulasi Kappaphycus alvarezii dan daun kelor terbukti dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan baku alternatif pembuatan nori. Nori Kappaphycus alvarezii dan daun kelor memiliki kandungan protein 0,043 %, kadar abu 7,0 %, hasil uji organoleptik terkait parameter warna nori menunjukan warna hijau kecoklatan. Sedangkan uji organoleptik untuk aspek tekstur menunjukan pengaruh yang signifikan yakni pada perlakuan ketiga (P3 54,00%). Uji organoleptik untuk aspek rasa menunjukan terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada perlakuan kesatu (P1 51,00%).

Abstract

Plants in general are able to produce secondary metabolite compounds that act as a protector against predators. Gewang fruit is often used by the people of Kolbano Village as a natural poison to catch fish.. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cyanide (CN) compound content in gewang fruit (Corypha utan Lamk). This study uses a trimetric method. There are two types of samples used in this study, namely raw samples and dry samples. The results of the qualitative testing of the cyanide compound content in the gewang fruit on 2 (two) samples showed that the color changed from yellow to white and a precipitate was formed at the bottom of the solution when reacted with AgNO₃, which showed that the gewang fruit positively contained cyanide compounds (CN). The average cyanide content in the raw gewang fruit samples was 11.52 mg/L or 9.25%. Meanwhile, the average cyanide level in the dry samples was 18 mg/L or 17,19 %.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are an important part of achieving the learning process. Classroom learning must achieve learning objectives. To realize these objectives and learning outcomes, teachers need to plan and design learning as well as possible so that indicators of success can be realized. One thing that supports this is the use of learning media. Learning media is a medium that can convey learning messages and can be accepted and understood by students. In relation to this research, the researcher aims to conduct research by implementing a dictionary based on local plants in the Sabu area. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The number of students in the experimental class was 32. Based on the results of the study, a 2-tailed sig value (0.001) <0.05 was obtained, which means there was a significant difference in student learning motivation before and after the experimental treatment. Student learning motivation after the experiment was higher than student motivation before the experiment. Therefore, it can be said that the application of the illustrated dictionary has a significant effect on student learning motivation.
