Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of dietary seaweed of Caulerpa sp. and Gracilaria sp. on blood glucose levels and histological pancreas of diabetic rats. A total of 28 male Wistar rats were used in this study. Rats were divided into 4 groups and given different diets i.e. PSN, PSA, PBN and PBS. Bioassay was conducted for 30 days. The analysis conducted on the macronutrient content of the seaweed flour as well as blood glucose levels on day 0, day 1 and day 30 after alloxan injection. At the end of the implementation of  bioassay, animal surgery were performed and pancreas organs were taken for histology observation. The results showed that  Gracilaria sp. and Caulerpa sp. had a crude fiber content respectively 20.48% and 12.47%. Blood glucose levels in all four groups of mice on day 0 ranged from 123.18 mg / dL - 131.96 mg / dL. Feeding PBN and PBS for 30 days lowered blood glucose levels of mice, respectively for 51.63% (from 384.4 mg / dL to 168.52 mg / dL) and 35.24% (from 328.05 mg / dL be 212.42 mg / dL). Histological observation showed that feeding PBN and PBS capable of helping the regeneration of pancreatic cells, thereby feeding both types of seaweed showed hypoglycemic effects in comparison with standard feed.

Abstract

Masing – masing kelompok diberi diet yang berbeda yaitu diet standar, diet kedelai, diet konsentrat protein kedelai, diet rumput laut, diet campuran kedelai - rumput lautdan diet campuran konsentrat protein kedelai – rumput laut. Pengamatan terhadap konsumsipakan dilakukan setiap hari sedangkan analisis gula darah, gula urin dan penimbangan berattikus dilakukan secara periodik setiap 10 hari sekali selama 30 hari. Hasil analisis menunjukkanbahwa rata-rata kadar gula darah tikus sebelum injeksi alloxan yaitu 121 mg/dL, sedangkan gulaurinenya berkisar 100 mg/ dL. Injeksi alloxan menyebabkan kenaikan gula darah menjadi 184,91mg/dL – 309 mg/dL, peningkatan gula urine, penurunan konsumsi pakan dan penurunan berattikus. Pemberian diet standar tidak mampu mengendalikan kenaikan gula darah, sedangkanpemberian diet kedelai(PK), diet konsentrat kedelai (PKP), diet rumput laut (PRL), dietcampuran kedelai-rumput laut (PKPRL) dan campuran konsentrat kedelai-rumput laut (PKPRL)mampu menekan peningkatan gula darah dan gula urine pada hewan coba.Penurunan gula darahberturut-turut sebesar 34,27 % (PK), 14,13 % (PKP), 20,78 % (PRL), 11,67 % (PKRL) dan32,64 % (PKPRL).

Abstract

This study examines the influence of issuers’ fundamental factors on Islamic stock returns in Indonesia. It is documentary research with data from company financial reports in the food and beverage industry. The companies were listed on the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index during 2015-2019. The sample selection was based on purposive sampling. The selected companies continuously published financial statements and had no negative earning per share. Based on the inclusion criteria, nine consistent firms were entered in data processing by Eviews software through several stages. The first stage involved determining the panel data regression model with common, fixed, and random effect models. The second stage was the selection of the fit model using 3 tests, including Chow, Lagrangian Multiplier, and Classic Assumption. The common effect was the fit panel data regression model. The results show that Return on Assets positively influences Islamic stock returns. However, Debt to Equity Ratio and Earning per Share do not affect Islamic Stock returns. Therefore, investors should pay attention to ROA before investing in Islamic capital market.
