Abstract

This study aims to design a guided inquiry-based module on the subject of reaction rates and to analyze the feasibility of a guided inquiry-based module on the subject of reaction rates. The method in this research uses the research and development or Research and Development method which is limited to only 5 stages, namely the data and information collection stage, the product planning stage, the initial product development stage, the initial field trial stage and the revision stage of the trial results. The research subject was a guided inquiry-based module. The object of research was the material reaction rate. The product developed was validated by 4 expert validators consisting of 2 material expert validators and 2 media expert validators. In addition, the responses of 2 chemistry teachers were also seen. Initial field trials were carried out by giving questionnaire sheets to 8 students. The results showed that the guided inquiry-based module on the subject of reaction rates was declared feasible after validation by material experts, media experts, teacher and student responses. Evaluation of material experts with an average percentage of 83.10% with the valid / feasible category, the assessment of media experts with an average percentage of 83.09% with the valid / feasible category, the percentage of teacher responses to 87.49% with the very interesting category and the percentage of responses 83.08% students with very interesting category.

Abstract

One of the subject matter of Chemistry in high school, loaded with concepts is Reaction Rate that be better taught through Guided Inquiry based on critical questions. This study aims to determine the learning outcomes learned through Guided Inquiry learning model based on critical questions is higher than Direct Instruction learning model. The study population was all students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 1 Pantai Cermin which amounted to three classes adds up to 35 to 40 students. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The selected sample is XI MIA 2 as an experimental class given the treatment of the guided inquiry model based on critical questions and XI MIA 1 as a control class treated with DI model. The results showed student learning outcomes in the experimental class at 86% and in the control class at 75% while student learning activities in the experimental class at 84.6% and in the control class at 72.7%. Hypothesis test results show tcount> ttable (8.4289> 1.668), meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, that is the results of student chemistry learning using the GI model based on critical questions higher than learning with DI model.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the differences in chemistry learning outcomes and students' creative thinking abilities, as well as the correlation between the two students who are taught using the PjBL learning model using Real Lab media and Virtual Lab. While students' creative thinking skills use observation sheets. The data obtained from the results of the study, namely: (1) To test the hypothesis of student learning outcomes obtained tcount = 2.15 while ttable = 1.998 (2) To test the hypothesis of creative thinking abilities students obtained tcount = 3.40 while ttable = 1.998 ( 3) To test the correlation of creative thinking abilities on student learning outcomes obtained rtable = 0.339 while r1 = 0.391 and r2 = 0.403 with contributions of = 15.26% and 16.27% in each class, the rest is influenced by other variables. So that the conclusion is drawn that there is a difference between learning outcomes and students 'creative thinking abilities that are learned using PjBL learning models by using Real Lab media and Virtual Lab media. There is a positive and significant correlation between students' creative thinking abilities and student learning outcomes in each experimental class.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of the worksheets student based on the BSNP criteria and to find out the responses of students to the designed worksheets. The method in this research uses the method of Research and Development (R&D) according to the Borg and Gall stages. The research subjects were worksheets based on guided inquiry learning models. The object of research is the thermochemical material. The results showed that the worksheets student that had been compiled had met the eligibility criteria according to the BSNP standards based on the content feasibility aspect, the presentation feasibility aspect, and the language feasibility aspect, which was obtained an average percentage of 88.55% with valid / feasible criteria and based on the feasibility aspect of graphic -the average percentage of 87.41% with valid / feasible criteria. As for the results of student responses to the designed worksheets is very high with an average percentage of 88.60%.

Abstract

This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 7 Medan on the Analysis of the Relationship Between Mathematical Ability and Chemical Analysis of Students' Chemistry Learning Outcomes in Chemical Equilibrium Material. The population in this study were all students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 7 Medan as many as 7 classes. Sampling using purposive sampling technique. The sample taken in this study was class XI MIPA 2. The instruments used consisted of: (1) mathematical ability test instruments in the form of multiple choice questions; (2) chemical analysis ability test instrument in the form of essay questions; (3) the test instrument for chemistry learning outcomes is in the form of multiple choice questions. The results of this study are: (1) there is a linear and significant relationship between mathematical ability and chemistry learning outcomes with a value of Sig(1-tailed) 0.000 <0.05; (2) there is a linear and significant relationship between analytical ability on chemistry learning outcomes with a Sig(1-tailed) value of 0.000 <0.05; (3) there is a significant relationship between mathematical ability and chemical analysis ability on chemistry learning outcomes with a value of Sig(1-tailed) 0.000<0.05.

Abstract

One of the subject matter of Chemistry High School which has quite extensive studies and full of concepts is Reaction Rate. The subject matter will be more precisely taught through Problem Based Learning (PBL) with scientific approach that designed with surrounding environment. This study aims to determine difference between increasing learning outcomes learned through PBL with scientific approach and increasing learning outcomes learned through Direct Instruction (DI) with scientific approach on Reaction Rate. The population was all students of XI MIA MAN. The sampling technique in this study was purposive sampling. The results showed an increase in student learning outcomes in experimental class by 84% and in control class by 79%. Based on test of the real difference with the statistical technique t at the level of significance α = 0.05 on the results of this study it can be concluded that increase in student learning outcomes through the PBL with scientific approach is higher than increase in learning outcomes taught through the DI with scientific approach to Reaction rate.

Abstract

Salah satu materi pokok dalam mata kuliah Kimia Umum-II yang memiliki kajian yang cukup luas, sarat dengan konsep dan bersifat abstrak adalah kelarutan/hasil kali kelarutan. Materi pokok tersebut akan lebih tepat diajarkan dengan PBL menggunakan animasi maupun peta konsep sehingga mahasiswa mudah memahmi dan menjadikan perkuliahan lebih bermakna. Selain itu, faktor lain yang juga berpengaruh terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar mahasiswa adalah kemampuan berpikir kritis (KBK) mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa: 1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan PBL menggunakan animasi terhadap hasil belajar kimia mahasiswa yaitu rata-rata hasil belajar kimia mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan PBL menggunakan animasi lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil belajar mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan model PBL menggunakan peta konsep; 2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan KBK mahasiswa terhadap hasil belajar kimia mahasiswa yaitu rata-rata hasil belajar kimia mahasiswa yang memiliki KBK tinggi lebih baik atau lebih tinggi dibandingkan hasil belajar kimia mahasiswa yang memiliki KBK rendah; 3) tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan interaksi antara penerapan PBL menggunakan animasi maupun peta konsep ditinjau dari KBK mahasiswa terhadap hasil belajar kimia yang dicapai mahasiswa.

Abstract

Science education has an important role in preparing quality human resources in the face of globalization. The potential of science education can be seen from the ability to communicate, critical thinking, problem solving, mastery of technology and the ability to adapt to changes and times. The process and learning of science can produce quality human beings by demonstrating scientific awareness (scientific literacy) and higher order thinking skills. This study aims to determine the relationship between learning motivation and self-confidence with chemical literacy skills and their impact on HOTS abilities. The sample of this research is 30 students of chemistry education study program. The instrument used is a learning motivation and self-confidence questionnaire as well as a chemical literacy ability test and the HOTS test that have met the valid and relatable criteria. Data analysis using path analysis test. The results showed that learning motivation and self-confidence had a significant positive relationship and influence on HOTS abilities, either directly or indirectly through chemical literacy skills. Chemical literacy ability has a significant positive relationship and effect on HOTS ability. Chemical literacy ability is a positive intervening factor between learning motivation and self-confidence on HOTS abilities.Pendidikan sains memiliki peran penting dalam mempersiapkan sumber daya manusia yang berkualitas dalam menghadapi era globalisasi. Potensi pendidikan sains dapat dilihat dari kemampuan berkomunikasi, berpikir kritis, pemecahan masalah, penguasaan teknologi dan kemampuan beradaptasi dengan perubahan dan zaman. Proses dan pembelajaran sains dapat menghasilkan manusia yang berkualitas dengan menunjukkan kesadaran sains (literasi sains) dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar dan kepercayaan diri dengan kemampuan literasi kimia serta dampaknya terhadap kemampuan HOTS. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa prodi pendidikan kimia sebanyak 30 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket motivasi belajar dan kepercayaan diir serta tes kemampuan literasi kimia dan tes HOTS yang telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan relabel. Analisis data menggunakan uji analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi belajar dan kepercayaan diri memiliki hubunagn dan pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kemampuan HOTS baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung melalui kemampuan literasi kimia. Kemampuan literasi kimia memiliki hubungan dan berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kemampuan HOTS. Kemampuan literasi kimia merupakan faktor intervening positif antara motivasi belajar maupun kepercayaan diri terhadap kemampuan HOTS.

Abstract

These 21st century skills are not inborn skills, but are acquired from experience. Therefore, educators must condition learning in such a way that all aspects of these 21st century skills can be trained, one of which is by using digital learning. The specific objectives of this study were to: (1) obtain a mapping or analysis of the needs of Chemistry teachers in integrating TPACK in learning, (2) measure the level of ability of Chemistry teachers in integrating TPACK in learning, (3) analyze the needs of Chemistry teachers in developing models. digital based Chemistry learning to develop students' abilities in the 21st century. This research is a quasi-experimental research by adopting the ADDIE model development research procedure. The results showed that the ability of chemistry teachers to integrate TPACK in learning based on the responses given by teachers from 12 cities/districts in North Sumatra was grouped into 7 components, namely: TK (Technological Knowledge) = 76.47%; PK (Paedagogical Knowledge) = 83.68%; CK (Content Knowledge) = 80.88%; TPK (Technological Pedagogical Knowledge) = 75.29%; PCK (Paedagogical Content Knowledge) = 78.97%; TCK (Technological Content Knowledge) = 83.14%; and TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) = 80.47 %. This means that the overall ability of chemistry teachers to integrate TPACK in learning is categorized as capable and quite capable.Keterampilan abad ke- 21 ini bukan keterampilan yang dibawa sejak lahir, melainkan diperoleh dari pengalaman. Oleh karena itu, pendidik harus mengondisikan pembelajaran sedemikian rupa agar semua aspek dari keterampilan abad ke-21 tersebut dapat dilatihkan, salah satunya dengan menggunakan pembelajaran digital. Tujuan khusus dari penelitian ini adalah untuk: (1) mendapatkan pemetaan atau analisis kebutuhan kemampuan guru Kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran, (2) mengukur tingkat kemampuan guru Kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran, (3) melakukan analisis kebutuhan guru Kimia dalam mengembangkaan model pembelajaran Kimia berbasil digital untuk mengembangkan kemampuan siswa pada abad 21. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu  dengan mengadopsi prosedur penelitian pengembangan model ADDIE. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran berdasarkan respon yang diberikan guru dari 12 kota/kabupaten di Sumatera Utara dikelompokkan dalam 7 komponen, yaitu: TK (Technological Knowledge) = 76,47%; PK (Paedagogical Knowledge) =  83,68%; CK (Content Knowledge) = 80,88%; TPK (Technological Paedagogical Knowledge) = 75,29%; PCK (Paedagogical Content Knowledge) = 78,97 %; TCK (Technological Content Knowledge) = 83,14%; dan TPACK (Technological Paedagogical Content Knowledge)  = 80,47 %. Hal ini berarti secara keseluruhan kemampuan guru kimia dalam mengintegrasikan TPACK dalam pembelajaran termasuk kategori mampu dan cukup mampu.

Abstract

Module is structured to provide teaching materials that are in accordance with curriculum set by considering needs of students in the learning process. This research is a type of Research and Development (R&D) research that aims to develop a discovery learning module on the reaction rate material. This research refers to the steps of Borg and Gall which are limited to five stages. First stage begins with data and information collection, discovery learning-based module development planning, initial product development, initial field trials, and revision of test results. Modules have been developed will be validated by media expert validators and material experts, each by three chemistry lecturers at the Unimed campus. Then the module was tested by looking the responses for 3 chemistry teachers and class XI students of SMA N 1 BangunPurba. The results showed that the discovery learning module on the reaction rate material was declared feasible after being validated by obtaining an average percentage of media experts 83.2%, average material experts 85.4%. And the module is declared interesting after obtaining a percentage with an average teacher response of 94.6% and student responses getting an average of 82%.Modul disusun untuk menyediakan bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan kurikulum yang ditetapkan dengan mempertimbangkan kebutuhan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian Research and Development (R&D) yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan modul berbasis discovery learning yang mengintegrasikan literasi sains pada materi laju reaksi. Penelitian ini mengacu pada langkah - langkah Borg and Gall yang dibatasi pada lima tahap. Tahap pertama dimulai dengan pengumpulan data dan informasi, perencanaan pengembangan modul berbasis discovery learning, pengembangan produk awal, uji coba lapangan awal, dan revisi hasil tes. Modul yang telah dikembangkan akan divalidasi oleh validator ahli media dan ahli materi, masing - masing oleh tiga orang dosen kimia Universitas Negeri Medan. Kemudian modul diuji dengan melihat respon menggunakan angket terhadap modul yang dikembangkan untuk 3 orang guru kimia dan siswa kelas XI SMA N 1 Bangun Purba yang berjumlah 36 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran discovery learning berbasis modul literasi sains terpadu pada materi laju reaksi dinyatakan layak setelah divalidasi dengan memperoleh persentase rata - rata ahli media 83,2 %, rata - rata ahli materi 85,4 %. Dan modul dinyatakan menarik setelah mendapatkan persentase dengan rata - rata respon guru 94,6 % dan respon siswa mendapatkan rata - rata 82 %.
