Abstract

This study aims to investigate how the students organize their ideas in the texts. This study employs a qualitative case study research design. The data were obtained by collecting students’ writing products in the class. Six students’ writing products were selected from three different levels of achievement—low-, mid-, and high- achiever based on the advice from the teacher. For the framework of the text analysis, this study draws on Systemic Functional Linguistic theory, especially of thematic progressions as suggested by Halliday Mathiessen (2004). The results show that all students’ texts from all levels had acquired the main purpose and the schematic structure of a recount text. Moreover, in terms of thematic progression consistency, the most occurrence of thematic progression pattern is the reiteration pattern, followed by the zigzag pattern. Meanwhile, no occurrence of multiple theme pattern in students’ recount texts indicate that the texts are not cohesion and coherence. Based on the findings, it is recommended that the teachers pay more attention to advantages of employing thematic progressions analysis applied in English learning process to allow students to gain a better control of text organization and development. Besides, it is also suggested for further researchersto investigate the other texts or to analyze the cohesive devices beyond thematic progressions.

Abstract

KKN is an intracurricular activity that provides learning and work experience to students in community development activities. The Implementation Board of the Real Work Program (BP-KKN) of the University of Lampung made the information system an important component in the implementation of KKN. BP-KKN's success in carrying out its duties depends on the extent to which the KKN information system management has been implemented. The use of the KKN information system raises various risks that can interfere with the implementation of KKN and cause losses both non-material and material to BP-KKN. BP-KKN needs to apply risk management to reduce the risks that arise, so that the problems caused do not result in the use of KKN information systems being hampered. The method used is NIST 800-30 which is an information system risk management framework with three stages, namely risk assessment, risk mitigation, and risk evaluation. KKN has 9 risks that can interfere with the sustainability of the information system. The final result of the KKN information system risk management is in the form of recommendations given to reduce the risk that will occur in the information system.

Abstract

This article is aimed at describing the role of Surabaya City Administration in nurturing the culture of reading. Presevious studies show that literacy level in Indonesia is relatively low. Inspite of its achievement in eradicating illiteracy, Indonesia has not managed nurturing the culture of reading. In decentralization era, local governments (provincial and regency/city) have vital roles in policy making. They have wider spaces for innovations and creativities in developing their societies and regions, based on the authorities that the central government transferred to them. This context made it possible for the Surabaya City Administration to make policies supporting the nurturing of the culture of reading. This article is based on a field research using qualitative method conducted in Surabaya City. The data of the research resulted from interviews with relevant parties, they are personnel of the Office of Educational Affairs of Surabaya City and the Board of Archive and Library of Surabaya City, and also desk studies. The findings of the research show that in the middle of limited policy instruments available for nurturing literacy, especially nurturing the culture of reading, Surabaya City Administration declared itself as a “city of literacy”, followed by many policies supporting the development of literacy. Those policies are the issuance of literacy-supporting regulations, synergy among related government agencies, human resources development, implementation of literacy events, and education ecosystem envionment. The result of the policies is the increase in the reading interest of the people supported by sustainable literacy programs.

Abstract

The problem in this research is academic procrastination behavior. This study aims to find out how is a significant negative correlation between self regulated learning with academic procrastination using quantitative research methods. The sample of this study was 104 students. The instrument used a scale of self regulated learning and academic procrastination scale. The analysis technique used the product moment technique with a significance level of 5%. Based on the analysis, it is known that the value of r-count = -0.810 from the level of r-table = 0,1622. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant negative relationship between self regulated learning and academic procrastination, meaning that the higher the self regulated learning, the lower the academic procrastination in students, and vice versa is the lower the self regulated learning so the higher academic procrastination for students.Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah perilaku prokrastinasi akademik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimanakah hubungan yang signifikan negatif antara self regulated learning dengan prokrastinasi akademik menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 104 siswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan skala self regulated learning dan skala prokrastinasi akademik. Teknik analisa menggunakan teknik product moment dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Berdasarkan hasil analisa diketahui nilai r-hitung = -0,810 dari taraf r-tabel = 0,1622. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan negatif antara self regulated learning dengan prokrastinasi akademik, artinya semakin tinggi self regulated learning maka semakin rendah prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa, begitu juga sebaliknya yaitu semakin rendah self regulated learning maka semakin tinggi prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa.Kata kunci: bimbingan konseling, prokrastinasi akademik, self regulated learning

Abstract

Nyeri punggung bagian bawah merupakan keluhan yang umum dirasakan oleh ibu hamil, terlebih lagi ketika memasuki kehamilan trimester III. Nyeri yang dirasakan ibu juga bervariasi. Ada berbagai terapi nonfarmakologi yang dapat dilakukan untuk membantu ibu meringankan nyeri punggung selama kehamilan salah satunya adalah pelvic rocking. Pelatihan Pelvic Rocking diberikan kepada ibu-ibu trimester III untuk mengurangi rasa nyeri pinggang dan punggung pada ibu. Pelatihan ini diberikan secara kontinue kepada ibu sampai ibu mahir dalam melaksanakan pelvic rocking dalam kegiatan sehari-hari. Pelatihan ini diberikan kepada ibu-ibu yang berada di BPM Islah Wahyuni. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk memberikan edukasi kepada ibu hamil Trimester III tentang cara mengurangi nyeri dengan Pelvic Rocking. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah ibu-ibu hamil trimester III yang ada di BPM Islah Wahyuni. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 3 bulan yaitu bulan Januari - Maret 2022 dengan satu kali pertemuan setiap satu bulan. Kegiatan dilaksanakan mulai pukul 09.00 - 11.00 WIB. Rata-rata intensitas nyeri punggung sebelum diberikan Pelvic Rocking adalahdengan nilai minimal 3 dan nilai maksimal 4, sedangkan rata-rata intensitas nyeri punggung trimester III sesudah diberikan Pelvic Rocking adalah dengan nilai minimal 0 dan maksimal 2.

Abstract

Kerusuhan Mei 1998 merupakan salah satu peristiwa bersejarah dalam perjalanan bangsa, peristiwa ini memberikan dampak yang kompleks terhadap semua lapisan masyarakat yang mengalaminya di berbagai daerah salah satunya adalah etnis Cina. Etnis Cina kerap menjadi sasaran dalam kerusuhan tersebut seperti di daerah Situbondo terjadi kerusuhan anti Cina pada tahun 1967 yang disebabkan oleh kesenjangan politik dan ekonomi serta di beberapa daerah lain. Berdasarkan data dan fakta empiris tersebut penulis tertarik untuk menelusuri apakah di Kecamatan Kaliwates Kabupaten juga terjadi perusakan terhadap toko-toko milik etnis Cina sebagai rangkaian dari gerakan reformasi atau tidak mengingat banyaknya masyarakat etnis Cina di kecamatan ini. Metode kajian yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah dengan pengumpulan data berupa teknik wawancara kepada beberapa informan Berdasarkan wawancara yang telah dilakukan, informasi yang dapat diperoleh yaitu kerusuhan (demonstrasi) pada tahun 1998 di Kecamatan Kaliwates terjadi di kawasan Jalan Gajah Mada hingga kantor Pemerintah Daerah Jember, Peristiwa ini juga disertai dengan pengrusakan terhadap beberapa toko milik etnis Cina. Peristiwa ini menimbulkan ketakutan dan rasa tidak aman bagi masyarakat etnis Cina untuk melakukan aktivitas jual beli. Peristiwa ini terjadi sebagai akibat dari kekagetan/ euforia terhadap situasi politik dan sosial yang sedang tidak stabil.Kata kunci: Gerakan Reformasi, etnis Cina, Kerusuhan.

Abstract

Surabaya is the city with the highest positive covid-19 confirmation in East Java, Indonesia.Accordingly, Surabaya’s city government have tried to use variety of methods to prevent the spread of the virus. The government expect the Surabaya society’s participation to take an action, working together with them to against it. As the social capital, the tradition of cooperation can be used to deal with the spread of the Covid-19 outbreak. The aim of this research is to analyse the role of Mutual Cooperation (gotong-royong) as social capital in the Surabaya’s communities when they deal with the covid-19 pandemic. This research used qualitative methods. The data collection was carried out through literaturestudy and virtual interview. The result of this research indicates that cooperation between community activities is very useful. Beside being able to help with the items needed for handling Covid-19, Mutual Cooperation can also make coordination and cooperation between society and local government more effective and efficient.

Abstract

Studi ini membahas bagaimana mencapai tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan desa melalui penguatan BUM Desa. Penguatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu pemerintah Kecamataan Dolopo, Kabupaten Madiun, dengan memberikan pelatihan perubahan mindset bagi para pengurus/pengelola BUM Desa dalam mengelola unit usahanya. Kegiatan pengabdian juga mengidentifikasi strategi bisnis yang menguntungkan bagi BUM Desa dengan mengoptimalkan potensi desa. Studi ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mengelaborasi data deskriptif dari hasil FGD, dokumentasi, dan observasi rangkaian kegiatan di Kecamatan Dolopo. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pengelola BUM Desa, perangkat desa, tokoh masyarakat, perwakilan dari bidang pemberdayaan dan kesejahteran keluarga. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan paradigma kewirausahaan dan pemahaman yang benar mengenai pengelolaan unit usaha di BUM Desa sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Selain itu, studi ini mengidentifikasi bahwa strategi bisnis yang akan dijalankan di lahan masing-masing desa adalah bisnis di bidang pertanian, khususnya pertanian jeruk nipis. Usaha ini akan dibantu sepenuhnya oleh pihak ketiga dan hasil panennya akan dikumpulkan oleh pihak ketiga, serta didistribusikan kepada mitra usaha sebagai pemasok jeruk nipis.
