Abstract

Feminism and religious authority are two conceptual frameworks that have been subjects of discussion in the field of Islamic education. Both concepts are an ongoing contestation due to difference of perspectives and practices within Muslim community. Feminism in one hand is a movement that advocates gender equity and criticizes the marginalization of women in society. It often questions the culture of patriarchy that limit women’s agency. On the other hand, religious authority is often described as male-dominated domain. This paper aims to elaborate how feminism challenges traditional and conservative religious authority and to what extent its implications towards Islamic education? These questions are answered through a library-based qualitative method. The finding shows that feminism challenges the dominance of male religious authority. Feminism emphasizes the need for Islamic educational institutions to implement egalitarian principles of Islam that place female and male equally and to promote women’s religious role, leadership and religious authority. This will contribute to rebuild a more egalitarian Islamic education that empower women and shape a more inclusive Muslim society.

Abstract

Statistical data in Indonesia indicates that the population of school children suffering from ADHD is currently at 26,4 percent, meaning that 1 in 5 children and adolescents under the age of 18 experience mental health issues. At least, there are 16 million children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The subjects of this research are children aged 5 to 12 years who have ADHD. The aim of this research is to describe the impact of integrating Islamic storytelling through television media on children with ADHD. Research on children with ADHD is still limited in Indonesia. This study uses a qualitative model with case studies, literature reviews, field studies, observations, and interviews. The research concludes that the integration of Islamic storytelling in children with ADHD can help improve attention and mitigate impulsive behavior, promoting positive behavior in children with ADHD. The selected Islamic storytelling is tailored to the specific impulsive behaviors exhibited, such as addressing issues related to using inappropriate language.

Abstract

This research analyzes the impact of the Ta’lim Muta’allim book as a hidden curriculum in learning processes at the integrated Islamic boarding school Ibnunnafis in Depok.The Implementation of the Ta’lim Muta’allim book is expected by the Islamic boarding school to enable students of having great characteristics and ethics for themselves and others. In order to analyze this topic, field research was chosen using a qualitative method that combines observation, interviews with teachers, students and alumni, and also collecting data from relevant documents and literatures. The result of this research indicates that the effectiveness of the implementation of the Ta’lim Muta’allim book as a hidden curriculum in students’ daily life at the boarding school significantly contributes to shape a young generation with strong characters and great morality. This contribution was driven by the distinctive materials of Ta’lim Muta’allim book focuses and emphasizes on the importance of everyday morals practiced among the closest people in the boarding school. This practice then has impact on the application of morals among wider community outside the boarding school.

Abstract

This article explores Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrullah (HAMKA)’s conceptualization of modern Sufism and its response to the challenges posed by secularism and materialism. In contemporary discourse, traditional Sufi teachings face increasing scrutiny and adaptation in light of prevailing secular ideologies and materialistic pursuits. Through a comprehensive analysis of HAMKA's writings, speeches, and philosophical perspectives, this research investigates how HAMKA reinterprets traditional Sufi principles to resonate with the realities of the modern world. Emphasizing themes of spirituality, ethics, and social responsibility, HAMKA's modern Sufism offers a compelling framework for navigating the complexities of secularism and materialism while preserving the essence of Sufi wisdom. This study highlights HAMKA's visionary approach to modern Sufism, providing valuable insights into its relevance and significance in contemporary discourse on spirituality and social ethics.

Abstract

Community service activities are one of the four pillars of Muhammadiyah higher education which must be carried out by lecturers. Community service in this case is the "Al-Ab Alughowi" Arabic Game Training for Kindergarten Teachers "Aisyah Bustanul Athfal. The purpose of this activity is to increase the skills of kindergarten teachers in learning Arabic and to make Arabic learning teaching. This community service partner is the Kindergarten Teachers "Aisyah Bustanul Athfal" in Sukmajaya Depok District, while this activity is to provide training on Al-Ab Al-Lughowi. The result of this activity is that the training is carried out with 3 things, First: namely the procedures for language games, Second: discussion of the benefits of games for kindergarten children. Third: is the game practice by Aisyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten teachers. This training helps Arabic teachers to be creative and innovative in teaching Arabic at school. The results of this activity are expected to increase understanding of Arabic language games specifically for Aisyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergarten teachers to become additional skills for teachers. Abstract

Currently, learning often imposes global demands, so it does not adjust to the interests and needs of students. For this reason, differentiated learning is offered. This learning is oriented towards teaching methods that optimize the needs of students. Differentiated learning has three strategies 1) content 2) process 3) product. With regard to that, this study aims to analyze the strengths in the differentiated learning process for students at SDN Kertajaya 03 grade 4. The research method chosen is qualitative which explores the phenomenon studied in words, the data collected in the form of prmer and secondary data, through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Primary data sources were collected from teachers and students while secondary from photos and documents. The results of the study showed a change in the level of understanding of students. The strength is in the process that makes it easier for students because it matches their interests, talents and profiles. This research certainly has implications for learning evaluation, so that it can be followed up to improve more optimal learning outcomes, especially in Islamic religious education lessons.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs according to Quraish Shihab Al-Misbah's interpretation. Tazkiyatun Nafs which refers to the Islamic process of purifying the soul is the main focus of the Al-Quran which Quraish Shihab studied in his interpretation. In this research we analyze Al-Misbah's work to explore Quraish Shihab's views on this concept. The research method used includes analysis of writings related to Tazkiyatun nafs Quraish Shihab, with the aim of identifying the understanding, urgency and practical implications of this concept in the daily lives of Muslims. The results of this research are that the concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs as interpreted by M Quraish Shihab Tafsir Al-Misbah is an Islamic process of purifying the soul which is the main focus of the Al-Quran. Abstract

This research examines the foundations and goals of heart education according to the views of Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jauziyah, an Islamic thinker who lived in the 14th century AD. Heart training is considered a central aspect in the development of individual and social character, and Ibn Qayyim is considered one of the figures who made an important contribution to this. The research method is literary analysis of Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jauziyah's work which focuses on education of the heart. The research results show that his thinking is based on moral values, ethics and Islamic principles which are the basis for education of the heart. Furthermore, according to Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jauziyah, the core educational goals are related to noble morals, spiritual awareness and self-control. Abstract

The education world is currently experiencing a surge in bullying cases. Various efforts are being made within school environments through the internalization of educational values, particularly Islamic education, which serves as the main foundation in shaping children's characters to prevent bullying behavior. This research aims to explore in depth how the internalization of Islamic educational values can help prevent bullying behavior within school environments. Thus, this study can provide profound insights into school efforts in internalizing Islamic values that are expected to shape students' characters and prevent negative behaviors such as bullying. This research adopts a qualitative approach using three types of data: documentation study, observation, and interviews, employing a descriptive method. The findings of the research conducted at SD Islam Al-Mu'min demonstrate that the process of internalizing Islamic educational values involves instilling Islamic values such as faith, morality, worship, and social interaction. The internalization of Islamic educational values is manifested through school activities such as the 5S program (smile, greet, chat, be polite, be kind), Quran memorization, congregational prayers, and Friday prayers, through exemplary behavior, habituation, and advice. By internalizing these Islamic educational values, students' characters are shaped, thus preventing bullying behavior in schools. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implikasi kode etik guru dalam menanamkan etika santri di pondok pesantren muhammadiyah darul arqam depok. Kode Etik menjadi pedoman moral bagi para pendidik. Fokus penelitian ini ingin memahami sejauh mana pemahaman kode etik guru dapat berimplikasi dalam menanamkan etika santri pada konteks pendidikan pesantren di pesantren muhammadiyah darul arqam depok. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi kelas, wawancara dengan guru dan analisis dokumen terkait terutama kode etik guru di lembaga pendidikan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan kode etik guru sangat berimplikasi dalam menanamkan etika santri. Seorang guru yang slalu menerapkan etika baik dalam berinteraksi terhadap santri, maka cenderung dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang nyaman serta dapat mengembangkan karakter dan moral santri. Etika dan perilaku santri juga dipengaruhi oleh Pemahaman santri terhadap kode etik guru. Penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi kode etik guru muhammadiyah yang sesuai dengan draft majelis DIKDASMEN. Hasil temuan ini menunjukan bahwa peningkatan efektivitas kode etik guru dalam menanamkan etika santri, dibutuhkan dukungan kerjasama antar guru, guru dengan santri dan seluruh stakeholder sekolah.
