Abstract

The simple organic waste processing in this journal is a follow-up to the previous activities. By using a concise method that did not take up land, the people of Gebang Putih Village have been able to process simple organic waste into ready-to-use compost. The method used in making ready-to-use compost was to stack brown and green waste in layers and then doused it with two variations of bio-activators, i.e., leri water (rice washing water) and EM4. After the 18th day, the resulting fertilizer showed dry characteristics, odorless, and had a neutral pH. An interesting result in this study was that the compost with the addition of leri water (pH=7) began to decompose on the 9th day. However, in the compost with the addition of EM4, on the 6th day, the compost had decomposed evenly. However, the final results of the compost produced proved that leri water was quite effective as an alternative bio-activator, a substitute for EM4.

Abstract

The midsole is an inseparable component of the shoe. For this reason, midsole production must be fulfilled so that the needs of shoe manufacturers to produce shoes can be met according to the target. Midsole Jepara factory is one of the work units of PT. X is a company that processes Compound raw materials into Midsole as its main product. ISO 9001:2008 is an international standard for quality management systems. ISO 9001:2008 establishes requirements and recommendations for the design and assessment of a quality management system. It is expected that the products produced from an international quality management system, will be of good quality (standard). Based on this, this study will discuss the quality assurance contained in a manufacturing company to prevent the absence of things that cause product defects. In analyzing the implementation of ISO 9001:2008 used is the analysis of P control maps, fishbone diagrams, and Pareto diagrams. In controlling the midsole products it produces, PT X applies a policy regarding product quality standards, namely using the PDCA (Plan Do Check Action) quality standard.

Abstract

The use of electrical energy for each region is increasing every year, along with the community’s increasing needs. Surabaya, a metropolis in Indonesia, is listed as the third-largest user of electrical energy in Indonesia. The community has widely used solar panels as new renewable energy, such as in the construction of traffic lights, street lighting, and several households. This study aims to determine the daily performance profile of the daily value of voltage, current, and energy stored from solar panels with different types of solar panels, namely, using polycrystalline and monocrystalline solar panels mounted on the roof of the house. Data retrieval was carried out with an interval of data collection every hour when the sun is high enough until the afternoon (06:00 WIB – 18:00 WIB). The results showed that the average voltage value for monocrystalline solar panels was 21.09 V and polycrystalline solar panels were 19.32 V. In addition, the output current values for monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels were 0.903 A and 0.27 A. Meanwhile, the monocrystalline output power value was 19.72 W and polycrystalline 5.43 W. Based on the research data, it can be concluded that the energy stored in the battery and the efficiency value for each monocrystalline solar panel produces a higher output value than that produced by polycrystalline solar panels, 12,98%, and 4.04%. However, polycrystalline solar panels that produce a lower and stable electric current can extend the lifetime of the battery where the electric charge is stored from the solar panel.

Abstract

XYZ Village is an industrial village that produces woven fabrics. Failure in the production process is something that must be traced to the cause so that it can be used as a basis for improving product quality. Total Quality Management (TQM) is an approach to running a business that tries to maximize the competitiveness of an organization through continuous improvement of products, services, people, processes, and the environment. This study was conducted to identify potential causes of failure and improve the quality of woven fabrics in the weaving process in XYZ Village with the TQM method approach. Based on the calculations that have been done, it was found that there are two valid variables and two other invalid variables because the value of r-count > r-table, namely the variable color is less bright and the color is mixed. Then the main factors that cause the quality of woven fabrics to decrease and result in production failures on woven fabrics are inappropriate battens and also color spots on woven fabrics.

Abstract

Mesoporous silica is continuously raising in popularity due to its excellent and unique properties, such as customizable pore, surface shape/morphology, large pore volume, and ease of functionalization for wide applications like catalysis, energy, environment, and biomedical areas. In the templated growth synthesis, a template acts as a mesostructure-directing agent to produce hollow porous structures in silica frameworks. Templates can be divided into "hard" and "soft" templates. While soft templates are typically in a fluid-like condition and hard templates are typically solid-state materials with specific morphology and structure. In this minireview, we summarize the synthesis method of mesoporous silica with a soft-hard template approach (template-assisted method).

Abstract

This paper aimed to process phosphate from laundry waste to be struvite crystal by precipitation and crystallization methods. In general, phosphates are difficult to remove by conventional treatment technologies. Therefore, precipitation and crystallization methods can be an alternative choice for phosphate recovery. Precipitation and crystallization methods can serve to remove dissolved phosphate content in wastewater, as well as convert it into a solid form that can be reused as industrial raw materials. The research variables used were stirring temperature (25, 30, and 35 °C) and stirring speed (100, 125, 150, and 200 rpm). By using X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM-EDX), the analysis showed that the highest percentage of phosphate removal was at a stirring speed of 100 rpm at 30°C, which was 47.5%. X-ray Diffraction (XRD) was also carried out on several samples and it was confirmed that the dominant crystal phase formed was a struvite (MgNH4PO4.6H2O) for all samples, and secondary phase Magnesium Phosphate Hydrate (Mg3(PO4)2*8H2O was found in a stirring speed of 100 rpm at 30°C. The morphology of the struvite crystals formed resembles irregular flakes by using SEM.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPemberdayaan pemuda telah dilakukan di RT 01 RW 01 Desa Perbon Kabupaten Tuban. Pemberdayaan dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Fakultas Teknik Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur yang tergabung dalam program Matching Fund. Kegiatan pemberdayaan dilakukan dalam bentuk pembentukan wadah oraganisasi bagi pemuda setempat. Belum adanya wadah organisasi bagi pemuda di lingkungan setempat menjadi permasalahan yang harusnya diatasi. Lewat pemberdayaan ini dalam bentuk kegiatan pengabdian akan dapat menjawab permasalahan untuk memperdayakan pemuda setempat. Metode yang dilakukan adalah pencarian masalah di lingkungan sekitar yang dilakukan secara langsung, analisa masalah yang dilakukan untuk menentukan solusi yang akan menjawab permasalahan, pelaksanaan kegiatan yang bermuara  pada pembentukan organisasi karang taruna, dan kegiatan evaluasi untuk melakukan penilaian tolak ukur keberhasilan. Sebelum pembentukan karang taruna, dilakukan pembekalan yang dikemas dalam kegiatan pelatihan organisasi dan pendampingan pembuatan program kerja. Penentuan keberhasilan pemberdayaan ini didukung oleh hasil wawancara yang dilakukan kepada orang yang terlibat dalam pembentukan karang taruna. Hasil wawancara menunjukkan peningkatan aktivitas pemuda RT setempat dan harapan kepada Karang Taruna untuk terus berkembang. Perkembangan aktivitas harus terus dilakukan untuk memantau kegiatan Karang Taruna. Kata kunci: pemberdayaan pemuda; karang taruna; organisasi. ABSTRACTYouth empowerment has been carried out in RT 01 RW 01 Perbon Village, Tuban Regency. Empowerment was carried out by students of the East Java "Veteran" National Development University Faculty of Engineering who are members of the Matching Fund program. Empowerment activities are carried out in the form of forming an organizational platform for local youth. The absence of an organizational platform for youth in the local environment is a problem that must be addressed. Through this empowerment in the form of service activities will be able to answer problems to empower local youth. The method used is the search for problems in the surrounding environment which is carried out directly, problem analysis is carried out to determine solutions that will answer the problems, implementation of activities that lead to the formation of youth organizations, and evaluation activities to evaluate success benchmarks. Prior to the formation of youth organizations, training was carried out which was packaged in organizational training activities and assistance in making work programs. Determining the success of this empowerment is supported by the results of interviews conducted with people involved in the formation of youth organizations. The results of the interviews showed an increase in the activity of the local RT youth and hopes for Karang Taruna to continue to develop. Activity development must continue to be carried out to monitor Karang Taruna activities. Keywords: youth empowerment; youth organization; organization.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan ini merupakan kegiatan MBKM Matching Fund 2022. Kegiatan MBKM Matching Fund 2022 ini dilakukan sebagai bentuk kolaborasi antara Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur dengan CV. Pawon Ibun. Kegiatan ini dimulai pada tanggal 26 Agustus 2022 dan dilaksanakan selama tiga bulan. CV. Pawon Ibun merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dibidang olahan pangan pendamping ASI non MSG. CV. Pawon Ibun berlokasi di Kelurahan Karang, Kecamatan Semanding, Kabupaten Tuban, Jawa Timur. Produk yang diproduksi terdapat dua belas produk yang terbagi menjadi tiga jenis yakni Abon, Kaldu dan Beras Komplit. Pada kegiatan ini dilakukan pendampingan implementasi HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) di CV. Pawon Ibun. Tujuan dari kegiatan matching fund ini yaitu melakukan pendampingan kepada perusahaan CV. Pawon Ibun dalam bidang HACCP agar dapat meningkatkan kualitas serta mutu dari perusahaan, sehingga dapat menjamin keamanan konsumen dan meningkatkan kepercayaan konsumen terhadap produk dan perusahaan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui pendampingan yang meliputi pelatihan, observasi lapangan, serta perbaikan proses produksi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu mampu memberikan pemahaman mengenai HACCP dan mewujudkan implementasi HACCP di CV. The purpose of this matching fund activity is to provide assistance to CV companies. Pawon Ibun in the field of HACCP in order to improve the quality and quality of the company, so as to ensure consumer safety and increase consumer confidence in the product and the company. This activity is carried out through assistance which includes training, field observations, and improvement of the production process. Abstract

Kegiatan MBKM Matching Fund 2022 ini dilakukan sebagai bentuk kolaborasi antara Universitas Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Jawa Timur dengan CV. Pawon Ibun. CV. Produk yang diproduksi terdapat dua belas produk yang terbagi menjadi tiga jenis yakni Abon, Kaldu dan Beras Komplit. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh CV Pawon Ibun yaitu belum ada dokumetasi terkait pengaplikasian dari GMP. Tujuan  kegiatan  ini  adalah memberikan edukasi bagi para karyawan CV Pawon Ibun tentang pentingnya program GMP dalam industri olahan pangan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui pendampingan yang meliputi penguatan, perencanaan, penerapan, pengaplikasian, serta audit internal GMP. CV Pawon Ibun telah menerapkan beberapa aspek dari GMP diantaranya aspek fasilitas sanitasi, mesin dan peralatan, dan bahan. Namun terdapat beberapa aspek yang perlu diperhatikan oleh CV Pawon Ibun diantaranya aspek lokasi dan bangunan. Berdasarkan penilaian hasil observasi aspek GMP, pada CV Pawon Ibun mendapatkan 78 dari total skor 100, berdasarkan aspek penilaian Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) dalam kategori baik dengan persentase sebesar 78%. Kata kunci: MBKM; matching fund; GMP; olahan pangan; CV pawon ibun. ABSTRACTThis activity is an activity of the MBKM Matching Fund 2022. This activity is carried out through mentoring which includes GMP strengthening, planning, implementing, implementing, and internal auditing. CV Pawon Ibun has implemented several aspects of GMP including aspects of sanitation facilities, machinery and equipment, and materials. However, there are several aspects that need to be considered by CV Pawon Ibun including location and building aspects. Based on the GMP aspect observation results, CV Pawon Ibun got 78 out of a total score of 100, based on the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) assessment aspect in the good category with a proportion of 78%. Keywords: MBKM; matching fund; GMP; food processing; CV pawon ibun.

Abstract

Desa mojokumpul terdapat di Kecamatan Kemlagi, kabupaten Mojokerto, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Desa tersebut memiliki anggota Ibu-Ibu dalam organisasi PKK yang yang dapat meningkatkan daya enterpreneurship dalam hal pemanfaatan barang bekas pakai yang terdapat di sekitar desa. Namun, warga belum memahami secara jelas mengenai proses penanaman tanaman sayur dan buah dengan sistem hidroponik sederhana maupun vertical. Dengan demikian, penyuluhan pemanfaatan barang bekas pakai dalam bertanam hidroponik bertujuan sebagai upaya menambah wawasan mitra dalam mencapai kategori desa mampu mengelola limbah rumah tangga dan menjadi desa terbaik dalam pelestarian serta penghijauan. Metode yang dilakukan yaitu penyuluhan dan praktek kepada peserta. Pada program ini terdapat tiga tahapan, persiapan, implementasi, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap persiapan, dilakukan persiapan mencari mitra desa yang sesuai, penyediaan alat dan bahan, maupun penyusunan materi yang diberikan. Tahap implementasi, kegiatan penyampaian materi dan praktek bertanam hidroponik oleh penyuluh. Pada tahap ketiga, evaluasi, akan diberikan post-questions secara lisan kepada peserta mengenai pemahaman materi yang telah disampaikan dalam penyuluhan dan praktik bertanam hidroponik. Dari hasil kegiatan diperoleh peningkatan pemahaman tentang bertanam hidroponik dari barang bekas. Diketahui bahwa 25% peserta paham memahami materi dan praktek bertanam dengan hidroponik dari barang bekas setelah dilakukan penyuluhan. Meskipun nilai presentase peningkatan pemahaman materi tidak menunjukkan hasil yang cukup signifikan, tetapi adanya penyuluhan diharapkan dapat membuka wawasan bagi warga mengenai bertanam hidroponik dapat dilakukan dengan penggunaan barang bekas yang terdapat di lingkungan rumah.
