Abstract

Employee discipline is one of the key success factors in a company. Work discipline has an important role in the formation of a positive work environment. One of the things that shows employee discipline is the time of attendance. Attendance time is usually recorded at the time the employee enters and leaves. Disciplinary information can be mapped into several groupings so that it is easy for decision makers to read. One of the computational methods that can perform data mapping is the K-Means Clustering method. The K-Means Clustering method can group data based on their characteristics. In this study, attendance data were analyzed using the K-Means method to obtain disciplinary groupings. The number of Clusters is calculated using the elbow method, 3 Clusters are obtained which are the best Cluster choices, namely Clusters 0, 1, and 2. The data analysis process shows Cluster 2 is the Cluster with the best level of discipline. From the analysis, it shows that the K-Means Clustering method can classify data based on employee discipline. Based on these results, decision makers can be helped in assessing employee discipline at Universita Harapan Bangsa using the disciplinary data grouping that has been made.

Abstract

Digital transformation brings significant changes in marketing strategies, especially for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pageraji Village. Increased internet accessibility has opened up new opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pageraji Village to expand their reach and increase their sales turnover. This journal documents the socialization and training of digital-based online marketing to help MSMEs in Pageraji Village utilize digital potential. The socialization begins with an in-depth understanding of the benefits of online marketing and its positive impacts on the development of MSMEs. The training focuses on key aspects, optimizing social media and marketplaces, and data analysis for smarter decision making. The results of the socialization and training show an increase in participants' understanding and skills in implementing online marketing strategies. Participants were able to increase their digital presence, reach new market share, and significantly increase their sales turnover. This journal reflects the importance of an inclusive approach in supporting MSMEs at the village level to adapt to digital change. This study contributes to a practical and contextual understanding of how online marketing can be a catalyst for local economic growth in the digital era.

Abstract

This article discusses using social media as a means of education among students. In this service activity, a survey was conducted to determine students' social media usage habits, followed by a workshop that provided an understanding of digital literacy and techniques for using social media for learning. The results show an increase in students' understanding of using social media as an educational tool after attending the workshop. However, the challenge of distinguishing between valid information and the temptation of entertainment content remains. The conclusion states that social media has great potential to support education if used correctly. Suggestions are given for schools, teachers, and parents to be more active in guiding and supervising students' use of social media and integrating digital literacy into the learning curriculum.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital telah meningkatkan kebutuhan industri akan keterampilan desain grafis yang mumpuni. Namun, banyak siswa jurusan multimedia di tingkat sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) yang belum memiliki keterampilan yang cukup dalam bidang ini. Pelatihan desain grafis berbasis Canva bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam menggunakan perangkat lunak desain yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri. Program pelatihan ini dilaksanakan di SMK Islam Bina Nusantara Gumelar dengan pendekatan interaktif dan berbasis praktik. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan siswa dalam memahami konsep desain grafis, penggunaan fitur Canva, dan pembuatan materi desain yang kreatif. Artikel ini membahas metode pelaksanaan pelatihan, hasil yang diperoleh, serta dampak program terhadap kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi dunia kerja.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a scaffolding-based English coursebook for 3rd-grade elementary students in Indonesia. The research was conducted in response to the challenges faced by teachers and young learners in , English language education, such as lack of contextualized materials and student engagement. A mixed-methods design was employed, involving a needs assessment, coursebook design, and a quasi-experimental study with 120 students from two schools in Purwokerto, Central Java. The experimental group used the scaffolding-based coursebook, while the control group used existing materials. The results revealed significant improvements in English proficiency scores for both groups, with the experimental group outperforming the control group. Qualitative data from classroom observations and interviews indicated increased student engagement, motivation, and positive perceptions of the scaffolding approach in the experimental group. The findings suggest that the scaffolding-based coursebook effectively enhanced young learners' English language proficiency and engagement compared to existing materials. The study highlights the potential of scaffolding techniques in designing contextualized language learning materials and supporting English language education in Indonesia. Further research is recommended to explore the long-term effects and applicability of scaffolding-based coursebooks across different grade levels and regions.

Abstract

Desain grafis menjadi keterampilan yang semakin penting dalam era digital saat ini, tidak hanya dalam dunia profesional tetapi juga dalam konteks pendidikan. Artikel ini membahas tentang strategi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan desain grafis siswa agar mereka lebih siap menghadapi uji kompetensi. Dengan latar belakang kebutuhan akan kemampuan desain grafis yang tinggi dan kurangnya pelatihan yang memadai untuk lulusan sekolah menengah kejuruan, solusi yang diajukan adalah mengintegrasikan pembelajaran desain grafis ke dalam kurikulum dengan fokus pada persiapan uji kompetensi. Penggunaan teknologi dan perangkat lunak desain grafis yang tepat juga diperkenalkan sebagai alat yang dapat mempercepat pembelajaran dan meningkatkan kualitas karya siswa. Pelatihan ini diselenggarakan guna membantu meningkatkan kemampuan desain grafis siswa secara signifikan, mempersiapkan mereka untuk tantangan di dunia nyata, serta memberikan alat yang kuat dalam menyampaikan ide dan informasi secara visual. Kegiatan ini terbukti berhasil, dilihat dari hasil perbandingan pre-test dan post-test yang menunjukkan peningkatan nilai yang merepresentasikan kemampuan.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan implementasi metode User-Centered Design (UCD) dalam perancangan UI/UX aplikasi Voting Kepengurusan Muhammadiyah Cabang Paguyangan. UCD menjadi landasan untuk memahami secara mendalam kebutuhan, preferensi, dan perilaku pengguna dalam pengembangan aplikasi ini. Dengan kata lain, metode UCD ini membantu dalam perancangan sistem interaktif berdasarkan pengalaman pengguna. Studi ini menjelaskan tahapan-tahapan yang diambil dalam implementasi UCD, mulai dari pengumpulan informasi pengguna potensial hingga penggambaran persona dan perancangan prototipe berbasis hasil penelitian. Melalui pendekatan UCD, penelitian ini menghasilkan desain yang lebih adaptif terhadap kebutuhan pengguna, dengan fokus pada antarmuka yang mudah digunakan dan pengalaman pengguna yang memuaskan. Hasil evaluasi dan pengujian menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam UI/UX aplikasi voting dalam penerapan UCD. Implementasi UCD dalam konteks aplikasi voting Kepengurusan Muhammadiyah Cabang Paguyangan memberikan manfaat dan memastikan aplikasi tersebut dapat diakses dan digunakan secara optimal. Pengguna dengan kelompok usia termuda lebih menguasi dan cepat beradaptasi dalam penggunaan aplikasi E-VoMU (E-Voting Muhammadiyah). Dibuktikan dengan nilai presentase pengujian yang dihasilkan, nilai kemampuan usia muda lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan dua kelompok usia lainnya.

Abstract

Sleep apnea is a serious sleep disorder characterized by repeated interruptions of breathing during sleep. This condition can significantly reduce sleep quality and have an impact on the health of individuals experiencing sleep apnea. In this condition, it can affect sleep disturbances that may lead to oxygen deficiency, high blood pressure, heart disease, and even other complications. Sleep disorders are also often not recognized by sufferers, resulting in delayed diagnosis and treatment. Environmental factors during sleep, including temperature, humidity, air quality, lighting, and noise, greatly influence the room conditions of people with sleep apnea. Therefore, a device is needed that can directly detect room conditions to keep the sleeping environment ideal. This research develops a device design to detect room conditions using an ESP32 microcontroller; this system is equipped with a DHT22 sensor to measure temperature and humidity, an MQ-135 sensor to monitor air quality, a BH1750 sensor to measure light intensity, and a KY037 sensor to detect sound. All data obtained from these sensors are then transmitted via Wi-Fi connection to the Blynk application, allowing users to monitor this information directly through their smartphones. This device design not only provides information on room conditions but can also be an effective solution to help sleep apnea sufferers maintain their sleep quality. Thus, this tool can present relevant environmental data and make it easier for users to monitor room conditions.

Abstract

Stroke rehabilitation patients have a high risk of falling, requiring continuous supervision to ensure safety and support the recovery process. This research aims to design and build a mobile-based Internet of Things (IoT) system to monitor patients' fall risk in real-time. The system utilizes a wearable device integrated with an ESP32-C3 microcontroller, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) MPU-6050 sensor, and a BMP280 pressure sensor to acquire patient movement and altitude data. This data is transmitted via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to a mobile application to be analyzed using a fall detection algorithm. The analysis results are displayed on the application interface as a risk status, activity graphs, and alert notifications if a potential fall is detected. The resulting design demonstrates that this system is effective in assisting caregivers to comprehensively monitor the patient's condition. Through accurate and responsive monitoring, this system is expected to enhance patient safety during rehabilitation and provide useful historical data for medical personnel.

Abstract

The development of assistive technology for visually impaired individuals is essential to enhance their mobility and safety. This research successfully designed and developed a Smart Stick based on a microcontroller, equipped with ultrasonic and water level sensors to detect obstacles and water puddles in real-time. The system provides immediate warnings through a speaker, allowing users to navigate their environment more effectively. The testing phase demonstrated that the ultrasonic sensor accurately detects obstacles within a range of 50–150 cm, while the water level sensor activates an alarm when the water reaches 40 mm. The results indicate that the Smart Stick is reliable in detecting obstacles and providing early warnings, improving the independence and security of visually impaired users. Future improvements may include IoT integration, Bluetooth headset compatibility, and enhanced sensor accuracy to optimize its functionality.
