When these young artist's had just begun to delve into urban art, other art forms had already entered their respective modern period. Abstract

The proliferation of contemporary cafes in the Surakarta area and its surroundings has added to the increasing wheel of the economy. It is recognized that during the Covid 19 pandemic these efforts were somewhat dimmed, but after or after the Covid 19 pandemic, these efforts continued to increase. Contemporary cafe businesses, especially those that open coffee shops, mostly require something artistic, it can be in the form of decoration, appearance in arranging the room to other things. Decorations or cool language, aesthetic elements are needed to make these cafes more attractive to visitors, especially young people. Young people or children today need places to gather or hang out as well as places for selvi or making stories. Seeing this very promising business opportunity makes the author quite intrigued by this problem. Business opportunities, especially those engaged in making aesthetic elements on the walls of contemporary cafes. Based on the experience gained by the author as a graphic artist, it encourages the author to find suitable partners to be trained in the creation of graphic art works in the form of aesthetic elements, especially those using high and mini-sized printing techniques. The author finally chose the Makmur Graphic Community. This community is a community engaged in graphic studios, exhibition venues and also a place for graphic art work. The purpose of this PKM is to train and assist the Makmoer Graphic Community so that they can produce high-tech graphic art products in a mini format, as an aesthetic element in contemporary cafes in the Surakarta area and its surroundings. The choice of the Makmur Graphic Community as a partner is because this community is inhabited by very young members, besides that this community is already very present in the graphic arts arena, especially in the Surakarta area and its surroundings. Many events have been held both online and offline, it's just that this community has shortcomings, especially in the products produced. For the methodology, Asset Based Community Development (ABCD). The impact is clear that the Makmur Graphic Community is now not only able to produce works of graphic art as a medium of expression, but can also produce decorative works or aesthetic elements. The second clearly produces a significant impact in the economy because the demand for these crafts from time to time has increased. And this is very supportive of the theme of this national seminar, namely the role of universities in community empowerment in supporting progress after the Covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: budaya dan alam, media edukasi, anak usia dini, Wayang Godhong AbstractAlong with the times, puppet shows function as learning media. Like wise with Wayang Godhong. Wayang Godhong, a form of contemporary wayang made from leaves of teak, cloves, and coffee, attempts to become a medium for children to foster a sense of love for nature and culture, especially in the Magelang Regency. This article, compiled through descriptive qualitative research methods, has succeeded in finding the visualization of the representative Wayang Godhong figures/characters for early childhood with a friendly and funny visual approach. The performance process of storytelling by the puppeteer must be used a clear facial expression (because the puppeteer stays in front of the children, not behind the scenes), the language must be easy to understand by the children by conveying humorism. After seeing the performance, the children wanted to do as instructed in the wayang performance, such as planting trees as an effort to preserve nature and became interested in wayang. Thereby, Wayang Godhong is considered capable of being a love for wayang educational media as a result of Indonesian culture and love for nature by planting/caring for trees from an early age. Keywords: children, culture and nature, education media, Godhong puppet

Abstract

This study explores the reception of monkey and crocodile figures depicted on one of the relief panels of Sojiwan Temple in Klaten, Central Java, Indonesia. The Sojiwan Temple reliefs visualize fairy tales from the Jataka, a collection of fables that often convey contextual and didactic themes. Through the lens of reception theory, this study identifies life lessons such as intelligence, dexterity, impartiality, and wisdom from the narrative panels of Sojiwan Temple and transforms them into ceramic art. Three ceramic artworks inspired by the monkey and crocodile reliefs highlight the notion that even a simple fairy tale does not possess a single, fixed meaning. Instead, there is a progressive interpretation that evolves with each reading of the reliefs at Sojiwan Temple. This research concludes that ceramics can serve as a medium to convey diverse interpretations, thereby enriching the aesthetic appreciation of the monkey and crocodile reliefs at Sojiwan Temple. Abstract

Urip Iku Urup is a highly printed artwork made from plastic waste that serves as video art. Environmentally friendly relief prints used as video artworks motivate studies on their meanings. Thus, this study's problem is how to visualize the metaphor of the mountains (Gunungan) in the Urip Iku Urup video art. This qualitative-descriptive study seeks to discover the Gunungan metaphor in the video art by using the metaphor approach. The findings demonstrate that Urip Iku Urup's work uses the Gunungan metaphor as a manifesto for the three relationships between God, man, and nature. Gunungan, as a teaching in Javanese life philosophy, implies human desire or hope for future accomplishments.
