Abstract

This study explores the integration of Chinese and Balinese cultural elements in poster design as a means of visual communication. This study aims to understand how cultural acculturation is manifested in poster design by integrating visual idioms from both cultures to convey messages of solidarity, tolerance, and cultural appreciation and preservation. Using qualitative research and a Design Thinking approach, this study seeks to present cultural acculturation values in poster design elements and evaluate their impact on the audience. The research findings demonstrate that the combination of Chinese and Balinese cultural symbols, colors, and patterns effectively produced a communicative and aesthetically appealing visual narrative. These findings highlight the significance of cultural comprehension in visual communication design and contribute to the development of culture-based design practices. This study enhances our understanding of the function of design in communicating cultural values.

Abstract

Sablon or screen printing has many functions and is usually more popular in the community for making t-shirts and banners and even batik cloth. The popularity of screen printing or screen printing, which is used by world-class artists, one of them Andy Warhol and also used by Marida Nasution, causes writers to feel inspired to work using this technique, because the technique is already popular in the community, making it easy to get tools and materials. To visualize this work, the author uses an art creation research methodology with an artistic creation process. The artistic creation process requires several stages to be passed, including experimentation, reflection and finally formation. The selection of these objects is indeed very interesting because these objects are increasingly disappearing in our lives. So that in this work, we try to marry or collaborate between modern art represented by graphic art with visual objects based on local wisdom that represent tradition. The paradigm of modern art with a touch of tradition as an effort to find the roots of the characteristics of Indonesia from year to year has begun to be explored by artists in Indonesia as an effort to find Indonesian cultural identity.Keyword: Sablon, Artistic Creative, Printmaking.

Abstract

Relief print is one of the techniques in graphic arts. The process of making a relief print is considered easy because it uses simple tools and materials, so that the artwork produced from this relief printing process is considered less creative and innovative. Conventional printmaking rules have predefined indicators. This creation research aims to produce novelty in graphic arts based on the concept of Javanese tradition. The method used is a mix of methods, namely the artistic creation process method: experimentation, reflection and creation of works. The creation of high-level printed artworks is made with a mix of media on the basis of Javanese tradition visually, so it is hoped that these works of art will be able to compete in the international world. The results of this creation research have innovations and creations in the form of contemporary art works extracted from Javanese traditional art.

Abstract

Relief print is a printmaking technique that is quite well known among the public. Relief print is considered static. This creation research aims to produce novelty by combining wood waste, references/matrixes in woodcut and Aja Dumeh's Javanese philosophy with artistic creation process methods: experimentation, reflection and creation of works. The creation of this matrix or reference is expected to be able to combine wood waste, reference/matrix in Relief print with Aja Dumeh's Javanese philosophy so that the resulting work is able to campaign about the importance of protecting the environment and also preserving culture, especially Javanese culture, so that it is expected to be able to compete in the international world. The results of this creation research have creations and innovations in the form of references/matrixes used in woodcut which come from Javanese philosophy conceptually and wood waste materially

Abstract

The creation of this graphic work considers the reciprocal relationship between art and the environment as well as its preservation with an Eco Art perspective. The creation of this Eco-Graphic work uses the Artistic Creation approach which includes experimentation, reflection, and formation (art structure). This Eco Graphic work is inspired by the stimulation of creating water, fire, wind and soil in Javanese philosophy which is then processed in such a way that it becomes a graphic art work in an eco art perspective. Through inner research or inner wandering, the creator is able to visualize the work of Eco Graphic after discovering triangles, circles and lines as the main motive with the abstract expressionism model.

Abstract

Animals have provided humans with everything from meat to eggs to pleasure. Thus, animals, including chameleons, must be rescued from extinction. The chameleon's uniqueness makes it an intriguing subject for artistic creation. The purpose of this artwork is to visualize the concept of personal expression through miniprint works using Sato Kewan (variety of animals) object, specifically the chameleon. The creation of this printmaking work is part of artistic research, more specifically research into art practice, which is conducted using plywood as a medium, an abstract expressionism style, and the concept of art as personal expression. The stages of creation include experimentation, contemplation, and formation. A chameleon miniprint reflecting personal expression is created as a result of the creation process. Hence, visualization of chameleon miniprints using advanced printing techniques can result in abstract expressionism-inspired printmaking works. The creation, which incorporates traditional and contemporary art elements, is expected to be competitive nationally and internationally.

Abstract

The creation of publication media for these relief-print artworks is a creative and innovative work because it does not only create relief-print works of art, but also creates publication media or exhibition media to exhibit relief-print works of art. This publication media work is a publication work that combines virtual and offline. The purpose of this work is the creation of relief-print art exhibition publication media that try to find alternative publication media which are environmentally friendly, efficient and global. The creation of this publication media uses the Tri Cipta Karya creation method which is an elaboration of the Artistic Creation method. The results of this creation produce an efficient Hybrid publication media, meaning that in the exhibition it is not only exhibited offline or physically, but also exhibited online or through a virtual gallery. The implications of this publication media creation have opened up wide opportunities for artists or designers to publish their works across countries online.
