Abstract

This study critically examines Qur'anic principles of wealth distribution as a potential solution to global economic inequality. Employing a qualitative, thematic tafsir-based analysis of selected Qur'anic verses, the research reveals that Islamic instruments such as zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (ZISWAF) offer a comprehensive and morally grounded framework for addressing structural poverty and socio-economic disparities. Rooted in the maqāṣid sharī‘ah paradigm, these mechanisms aim to ensure social justice by mandating ethical wealth circulation, protecting essential human rights, and countering the concentration of resources among economic elites. Despite their transformative potential, the implementation of these instruments in modern contexts faces challenges, including limited institutional transparency, fragmented regulation, and low public participation. This study contributes to global academic discourse by demonstrating how Qur'anic economic ethics can inform inclusive fiscal policies and sustainable development models. It recommends policy reforms integrating digital financial technologies, standardized zakat-wakaf governance, and stronger state–Islamic institution collaboration. Future research is encouraged to expand empirical evaluations of Islamic wealth redistribution mechanisms in diverse socio-economic contexts and to compare their effectiveness against conventional capitalist systems.

Abstract

Halalan thayyiban is an important legitimacy that must be owned by every business, especially in food products or products such as beauty and so on as a benchmark for safety and to increase consumer awareness of the importance of using products that already have halal certification and food labeling logos greatly affect the quality of the product. This study aims to determine how the public's perception, especially for Muslim consumers, is in understanding or interpreting food products that are halal thayyiban and how to solve problems related to challenges and opportunities faced by Indonesia in halal certification of food products that are in accordance with applicable BPJPH or LPH regulations. This study uses the SLR paradigm approach or systematic literature review obtained from journals that have been published from 2015 to 2024 after being traced, the results obtained show that there is still a lack of public understanding of the importance of halal certification for a food product because many people still think that food products that do not contain pork, alcohol and the like are included in products that are halal for consumption, but halal standardization is not only seen in terms of product ingredients but also from the production process of using clean kitchen utensils, kitchen sanitation or clean production areas and the like which are very important aspects in assessing the halal standardization of food products that are in accordance with applicable procedures and currently the demand for foreign products, especially halal-certified food or beauty products, is in great demand abroad because it is considered that the goods to be consumed have standardization and go through a very strict process so that they are considered safe for direct consumption can increase the export value of Indonesia in advancing MSME products, especially the halal industry which is currently increasing

Abstract

This research examines the role of the Socio-Physical and Spiritual Environments (SPaSE) Model in developing religious moderation. PLS-SEM (Partial Least Square- Structural Equational Models) was used for this study to create a Social, Physical, and Spiritual Environments (SPaSE) Model for developing attitudes toward religious moderation. SEM is used in statistical techniques that measure the strength of the hypothetical relationship between variables in a model as a structure with many dependent variables. This research found that the SPaSE model represents a holistic madrasa environment with mutual relationships. In a social space, a transfer of values instills attitudes to being a good citizen. A positive social environment can promote students' social and emotional learning development to prevent intolerant behavior. Prevention may involve the physical environment, namely learning facilities, which become information about attitudes, values, and ethics in Islam compatible with a pluralistic society and prevent extremism and radicalism. The spiritual environment, as mediation and legitimacy, influences the worldview of a large group of people. This research concludes that the social, physical, and spiritual environment is significantly related to religious moderation attitudes in madrasas. The SPaSE model illustrates that students can gain specific meanings and identities through social interaction assisted by the values of religious moderation. The values of religious moderation that originate from Islam are the doctrines or teachings of Islam as a spiritual environment that is accustomed through social interaction and learning facilities. The SPaSE model is very important in madrasahs because it can promote attitudes and perspectives of religious moderation in madrasahs.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the endowment fund collection system of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) in Indonesia and to establish the rationale for allocating the endowment fund to a Cash Waqf-Linked Sukuk private placement. This research employed a qualitative approach with a holistic single-case study design at the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember in Surabaya. Data were obtained through interviews, documentation, and observation. This research design was used because this study examines a single unit of analysis comprehensively. The initial research findings indicate that ITS's endowment fund collection is conducted through an integration of donations and waqf, supported by both internal and external funding sources. Fundraising is developed through strengthening alumni networks, digital platforms, collaboration with the Indonesian Waqf Board (BWI), naming rights programs, and strengthening a culture of philanthropy on campus. ITS's endowment fund collection leverages social capital in the form of networks, norms, and trust developed within the academic community. The collected funds were placed in a Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) instrument through a private placement mechanism because it offers investment security, competitive and stable returns, characteristics aligned with the endowment fund philosophy, and guarantees of professional and sharia-compliant governance by BWI as nazir. This study highlights CWLS as an innovative model for integrating university endowments, productive waqf, and sustainable higher education financing.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the association between pesantren brand image and price fairness with customer loyalty in pesantren cooperatives in East Java, with customer satisfaction as a mediating variable. This study is important because pesantren cooperatives operate not only as business institutions, but also as institutions representing religious and social values that may be associated with customer loyalty.   Design/methodology/approach – This study employed a quantitative method using a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected through online questionnaires distributed to consumers who had experience purchasing products at pesantren cooperatives in East Java. A total of 209 respondents participated in this study, and the data were analysed using SEM-PLS to examine the relationships among variables. Finding/Results – The results indicate that pesantren brand image is positively and significantly associated with customer loyalty (β = 0.213) and customer satisfaction (β = 0.323). Price fairness is similarly positively and significantly associated with customer loyalty (β = 0.208) and customer satisfaction (β = 0.279). Customer satisfaction is the strongest direct predictor of customer loyalty (β = 0.411). Mediation analysis reveals that customer satisfaction partially mediates the relationship between pesantren brand image and customer loyalty (β = 0.067) and the relationship between price fairness and customer loyalty (β = 0.166), with the latter demonstrating a substantially stronger mediating role.    Research Implications/Limitations – The findings provide additional insights into the application of satisfaction-mediated loyalty models within faith-based cooperative settings. However, the cross-sectional design limits the causal interpretation of the observed relationships. In addition, the focus on pesantren cooperatives in East Java limits the broader generalizability of the findings. Originality/Value – This study extends customer loyalty research within the context of pesantren cooperatives and highlights the importance of religious institutional image and fair pricing in their positive association with customer satisfaction and loyalty.
