Abstract

Information is a primary need for the community, especially in Indonesia. This is because news contains reports of an event or events, situations, and conditions that are important and interesting to meet the curiosity of the audience. The news we read is the result of social construction involving the views, ideologies, and values of a media. The existence of the media demands accuracy, accuracy, and facts that have truth. The objectives of this study are 1) To describe the results of the framing analysis of the news of the Ferdy Sambo case in the January 2023 edition of CNN Indonesia.com online media through the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki model framing analysis approach 2) To determine the use of the results of the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kos model framing analysis for Indonesian learning.

Abstract

The Minyakita brand is a registered trademark for palm cooking oil, owned by the Director General of Domestic Trade under the Ministry of Trade. Since its introduction, Minyakita has gained popularity in the market and has become a widely used cooking oil by the public. The research focuses on the media coverage of Minyakita, specifically analyzing online platforms like Kompas.com, Pikiranrakyat.com, and Tribunnews.com using Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis. The primary objective of this study is to employ Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis on news articles related to Minyakita from January to February 2023, published on Kompas.com, Pikiranrakyat.com, and Tribunnews.com. This analysis is intended to provide insights that can be utilized as instructional content for teaching news text comprehension to seventh-grade junior high school students. A qualitative approach with descriptive methods is employed for this study. Data collection involves observing and noting 15 relevant news articles from the specified time period and media outlets. A framing analysis guide, aligned with Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's perspectives, is used as the research instrument. Data analysis consists of data reduction, presentation, interpretation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal both similarities and differences among the online media platforms. All three platforms adhere to a complete script structure, incorporating the 5W+1H elements and citing the same source. However, discrepancies arise in their thematic structures. Kompas.com, Pikiranrakyat.com, and Tribunnews.com do not share the same wording when emphasizing the news messages. The insights obtained from Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis of the Minyakita news coverage from January to February 2023 in the mentioned online media outlets are recommended for crafting news text handouts suitable for seventh-grade junior high school students. These teaching materials can facilitate the comprehension and analysis of news texts in the classroom setting.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the meaning of the language styles contained in the album "Manusiaku Humanmu Humannya" and to determine the form of teaching materials as recommendations for poetry learning for class X students. This type of research is qualitative research. This research approach uses a stylistic approach that focuses on the meaning of the Mustache and Beard song album entitled "Manusiaku Humanmu Humannya". This research method uses descriptive analysis methods. The subject of this research uses 8 songs which are the best works on the album. This research instrument uses tables with a structured data format. Based on research results from the analysis of the album, the song "Manusiaku Humanmu Humanmu" produces 39 language styles. Consisting of 3 hyperboles, 4 metaphors, 9 personifications, 5 similes, 6 allegories, 6 euphemisms, 5 symbolic ones, and 1 repetition. The language style that is widely used is personification and the language style that is least used is repetition. . Then use it as a recommendation for teaching materials in the form of audio visuals for class X students' poetry learning.

Abstract

This research uses speech act theory according to Prayitno (2011:41) that directive speech acts do not only function to inform something. Directive speech acts have a very important role in everyday communication and are used to achieve various goals in social interactions. The research carried out was related to the analysis of directive speech acts in the "Si Bolang" broadcast on the Edutainment Trans7 Official YouTube channel. With a total of four "Si Bolang" video views on the Trans7 Official Edutainment YouTube channel. Utilization of research results of analysis of directive speech acts in the "Si Bolang" broadcast for junior high school level Indonesian language learning as teaching material for handouts of experimental report text material. With the basic competencies and core competencies of the 2013 curriculum found in class IX odd semester. The results of this research show what forms of directive speech acts and speech act strategies are used in broadcasts. This research uses descriptive qualitative research to analyze the object of study of directive speech in the show "Si Bolang". This research uses a qualitative research approach. The results of this research focus on analyzing the form of directive speech acts and strategies for directive speech acts. The form of directive speech acts has six forms, namely, commands, invitations, advice, prohibitions, criticism and requests. Meanwhile, there are two types of directive speech act strategies, direct speech act strategies and indirect speech act strategies. The results of the analysis contained 139 data (commands), 22 data (invitations), 4 (advice), 2 data (prohibitions), 2 data (criticism) and 12 data (requests). There are two strategies for directive speech acts in the research, namely direct speech act strategies, there are 170 data, and indirect speech act strategies, there are 11 data.

Abstract

In carrying out activities as a social creature, it is necessary and can cause language variations. Language variations that have different forms but have forms that resemble language in general. Language variants do not arise as a result of different speakers, but may exist as a result of the emergence of social interactions carried out in various ways. In this research, we examine language variations in terms of formality in the speech of salesmen and buyers in several points in the East Jakarta area with the problem of 1) How do the variations in language used by PT Karyatama salesmen advance successfully to buyers, and 2) What are the results of utilizing the language variations used? by the salesman of PT Karyatama Maju Berjaya to buyers as teaching material for class The theory used is the theory of Martin Joos and Abdul Chaer and Agustina (2010) which relates to language variations in terms of formality. The method used by the author is a descriptive qualitative method and the approach used is a sociolinguistic approach. Based on the research results, it can be concluded as follows: 1) 97 data were found, of which 15 data were in the form of casual variety, 42 data were in the form of familiar variety, and 40 data were in the form of business variety. Meanwhile, for the frozen variety and formal variety, the author did not find this data, and 2) the form of use was in the form of teaching materials in the form of handouts for negotiation text material for class X SMA.

Abstract

Pemilihan metode pembelajaran yang tepat memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik. Di SMA Budi Mulia Telukjambe Karawang, terdapat permasalahan rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa terhadap teks cerita pendek, yang disebabkan oleh penggunaan metode pembelajaran konvensional dan kurangnya inovasi dalam strategi pengajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas metode pembelajaran SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas XI pada materi teks cerita pendek selama Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari siswa kelas XI 2 dan XI 3. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-eksperimental, khususnya Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Dalam penelitian ini, kedua kelompok diuji sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Kelas XI 2 berfungsi sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang menerapkan metode SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review), sementara kelas XI 3 sebagai kelompok kontrol menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Data yang diperoleh dari pretest dan posttest dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik parametrik, seperti uji t (t-test) untuk menentukan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Uji normalitas dan homogenitas varians juga dilakukan untuk memastikan asumsi statistik terpenuhi sebelum melakukan uji t. Analisis ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas metode SQ3R dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dibandingkan dengan metode pembelajaran konvensional . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara hasil belajar kedua kelompok. Rata-rata skor pretest-posttest untuk kelas kontrol adalah 46,27 dan 61,70, sedangkan untuk kelas eksperimen mencapai 57,65 dan 84,32. Peningkatan yang signifikan pada kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol didukung oleh analisis uji t posttest yang menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000, yang lebih kecil dari alpha penelitian sebesar 0,05. Dengan demikian, hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, yang mengindikasikan bahwa metode SQ3R memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman materi teks cerita pendek. Metode SQ3R terbukti lebih efektif dalam aspek identifikasi tokoh, alur, dan latar dibandingkan dengan aspek lainnya.

Abstract

This study focuses on the meaning of social values contained in the novel Nonik Jamu by Rina Suryakusuma as a recommendation for teaching materials in literature learning in high school. This study uses a qualitative approach. While the research method in this study is a descriptive method. The data collection technique used in this study is a data collection technique using library techniques and note-taking techniques. The classification of social values of compassion consists of devotion values, mutual assistance values, family values, loyalty values, and caring values. There are 18 quotations of sentences that have aspects of social values of compassion consisting of three quotations of sentences based on one description of an event in the value of devotion, three quotations of sentences on one description of an event in the value of mutual assistance, three quotations of sentences on one event that includes family values, five quotations of sentences on one event that includes loyalty values, and seven quotations of sentences that include caring values. Of the five types of social values of compassion, the value of caring is dominated by the value of caring.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian mendeskripsikan lanskap linguistik Gramedia Karawang dengan menggunakan bentuk monolingual dan bilingual, serta 2) mendeskripsikan lanskap linguistik Gramedia Karawang berdasarkan pola sintaksis frasa Karawang, bahasa Gramedian. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode deskriptif analitis. Sumber data penelitian berupa gambar visual, papan iklan, reklame, dan informasi yang terdapat di di Gramedia World Karawang. Subjek penelitian narasi-narasi informasi yang dipasang di Gramedia World Karawang. Teknik pengumpulan data memanfaatkan teknik observasi, wawancara, membaca, mencatat, dan studi pustaka terhadap terkait penggunaan bahasa lanskap linguistik (LL) di Gramedia World Karawang. Data penelitian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan Gramedia World Karawang memiliki dua kategori lanskap bahasa yaitu lanskap bahasa monolingual dan lanskap bahasa bilingual Indonesia Inggris. Lanskap bahasa Gramedia World Karawang dimaksudkan untuk memberikan informasi.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui makna majas yang digunakan dalam lirik lagu Idgitaf, yaitu Sedia Aku Sebelum Hujan. Untuk menemukan jenis majas dan memahami fungsi estetik dan semantiknya dalam lirik lagu, penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif deskriptif yang menggunakan analisis semantik dan stilistika. Data penelitian terdiri atas kutipan lirik yang terdapat dalam majas, yang dievaluasi dengan teknik simak dan catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan majas seperti metafora, antitesis, paradoks, retoris, elipsis, hiperbola, litotes, personifikasi, deklaratif, dan repetisi dalam lirik lagu tersebut sangat penting untuk menggambarkan emosi, kerentanan, dan hubungan batin. Tidak hanya majas yang dapat meningkatkan daya ungkap artistik, tetapi juga memberikan makna yang lebih dalam yang bersifat implisit dan reflektif. Majas menjadi alat penting untuk mengungkapkan makna lirik secara komunikatif dan estetik.     Kata Kunci:  Idgitaf, majas, makna, lirik lagu, Sedia Aku Sebelum Hujan

Abstract

This study aims to identify and describe the types of figures of speech used in online political news on the CNN Indonesia website and to analyze their relevance as learning resources and Indonesian language teaching modules for ninth-grade junior high school speech students in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum. The main problem in this study is the forms of figurative language use in CNN Indonesia's online political news and how this relates to the development of speech teaching materials. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a content analysis approach to deeply understand the phenomenon of figurative language use in news texts and its potential in educational contexts. Data collection techniques were carried out through reading, recording, and archiving online political news containing elements of figurative language. The results show that CNN Indonesia's political news contains various figures of speech (figurative comparison) and satire, including two hyperboles, six metaphors, one periphrase, one irony, one symbolic figure of speech, and one allegory. These findings indicate a richness of language styles in political news that can be utilized to develop students' language skills. A deep understanding of this figure of speech is essential in helping students critically interpret news texts and construct communicative speeches. Therefore, CNN Indonesia's online news, rich in figures of speech, is considered relevant as teaching material for Indonesian language learning in ninth-grade junior high school students within the Merdeka Curriculum framework.
