Abstract

AbstractMangrove forest in the Apar Village has been degraded due to anthroponegic activities. The activities counducted in that area damage the mangrove and thus negatively affects gastropods living in that area. A research aims to identify gastropods species and density was conducted in july 2019. There was 2 stations, with 3 plots/station and 5 subplots/plot. In each subplot, the gastropod were collected by hand. There were 11 gastropod species present, namely Telescopium telescopium, Cerithideaquadrata, Faunus ater, Neritinaturrita, Neritinasemiconica, Nerita lineate, Neritodryasdubia, Ellobiumaurisjudae, Cassidulaaurifelis, Thiarascabra and Littorinascabra. Density of gastropod ranges from 0,066-2,667 organisms/. The Water quality were as follows : temperature 26-32˚C; soil temperature 29-33˚C; pH 7; soil pH 5-6 and salinity  4-22 ‰ Keywords: Cerithideaquadrata, water quality, mangrove forest, anthroponegic activities, salinity

Abstract

Abstract Thynnichthysthynnoides is commonly inhabit the Bunter Lake. A research aims to understandthe growth rateof the fish in the Bunter Lake has been conducted in April-May 2019. The method used in this study is a survey method in which the waters of Lake Bunter as a research location. The fish was sampled everyday for24 days, using gillnets. The fish that are taken from the smallest to the largest, which represent each size and weight of the fish.Results shown that theasymptotic length ((L∞) 20.11 mm, growth coefficient (K) 0.74/year, and t0 -0.2426/year. It means that the growth of fish in Lake Bunter takes 6 months to reach an asymptotic length value. Results shown thatthe water quality of the Bunter Lake are as follows temperature 29-30oC, tranparancy40-65 cm, depth1,80-9,10 M, pH 9 and dissolved oxsygen3,8-4,4 mg/L. Water quality in the Bunter Lake is able to support the life of T. thynnoides.    Keywords :Oxbow lake, growth coefficient, water quality,growth, asymptotic length

Abstract

AbstractPhytoplankton can act as one of the ecological parameters that can describe the condition of the water. This research was conducted in the Kampar River in Kuala Terusan Village in June-August 2019. The research was conducted at three stations. Sampling was carried out three times in one week intervals. Water quality parameters measured during the study are temperature, brightness, current speed, pH, dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide, nitrate, and phosphate. Types of phytoplankton in the Kampar River Kuala Terusan Village 27 types are consisting of 3 classes, namely: Bacillariophyceae (2 types), Chlorophyceae (15 types) and Cyanophyceae (10 types). The abundance of phytoplankton species in the Kampar River in the Kuala Terusan Village ranges from 2914 - 7818 cells / L. The results of the phytoplankton species diversity index (H ') in the Kampar River Kuala Terusan Village ranged from 2.4906 to 2.7727, the uniformity index (E) ranged from 0.6093 to 0.6784, the dominance index (C) ranged from 0.1886 to 0,2616. The water quality of the aquatic environment in the Kampar River in Kuala Terusan Village is as follows: temperature 29-30˚C, pH 5, current speed 0.16-0.24 m / sec, brightness 24-37 cm, dissolved oxygen 3.2-4, 6 mg / L, free carbon dioxide 3.1-3.8 mg / L, nitrate 0.1855-0.2152 mg / L, and phosphate 0.0726-0.1195 mg / L. Keywords: Phytoplankton, Kampar River, diversity

Abstract

ABSTRACTSea grass ecosystem in the Madong Bay is inhabited by numerous aquatic organisms, including bivalve. A research aims to determine the community structure of bivalve in that seagrass ecosystemhas been conducted in July 2019.There were 3 stations, in the rivermouth, in the bay and in the sea. In each station, there were  2transect lines(25 m length), and distance between the line was 15 m. In each line, there were 4 quadrants(1x1 m2). Sampling was conducted twice a week for 2 weeks. Bivalve present inside the quadrant were sampled manually. Results shown that there were 8 bivalve species present, namelyPlacamen chlorotica, Anomalocardia squamosa, Callista lilacina, Circe scripta, Anadara granosa, Semele cordiformis, Trachycardium rugosum, Anadara gubernaculum. The diversity index (H’) was 1.965-2.242, the uniformity index (E’) was 0.356-0.472 and the dominance index (C’) was 0.225-0.262. The water quality parameters are as follows; Temperature was 29-31 0C; acidity (pH) was 7; Salinity was 30-35 ‰; current speed was 0.14-0.15 m/s and DO was 6.7-6.9 mg/L. Keywords:Circe scripta, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index

Abstract

ABSTRAKThe fisheries potency in the estuary ofRawaMekar Jaya Village is high. A research aims to determine the fishcommunity structure in that estuary was conducted in April-July 2019. Fish samples were taken in 3 stations,in the mangrove area(ST-1), reforestation mangrove area (ST-2) and around the residential area (ST-3). The fishes were captured using fishing rod, net traps (mesh size 1-2 inches) and scoop net (mesh size 0.5 cm). Fish was sampled everyday for 10 days period.  Results shown that the caught fishconsisted of 13 species that are belonged to 12 families. Diversity Index (H ') 2.01–2.31, uniformity index (E) 0.87-0.96 and dominance index (D) 0.10–0.16. The water quality in the estuary were as follows; temperature of 28-300C, the current speed 0.011-0.041 m/sec, brightness of 43-45 cm, salinity of 1,5-15 ‰, dissolved oxygen   3.25-4.16 mg/L and pH of 5-6. Data obtained indicates that community structure of fish can be categorized as medium (stable). Keywords; Coastal, Mangrove, Diversity index.Uniformity index, Dominance index

Abstract

AbstractSeveral activities in the Bunter Lake contributed the input of organic and an-organic matter that affects the water quality, especially nutrient concentration in waters. A research aims to understand the trophic state of the Bunter Lake based on NSF-WQI has been conducted in August – September 2019. There were three stations namely Station I (inlet area), Station II (around the plantation area) and Station III (outlet area). Sampling were conducted 3 times, once/week. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, turbidity, NTU, TSS, pH, dissolved oxygen, BOD5, nitrate and total phospate. NSF-WQI are as follows: 51.38 – 52.68, the water quality parameters values are as follows: temperature: 28.7 – 30 oC, turbidity: 7.83 – 10.08 NTU, TSS: 19.7 – 28.7 mg/L, pH: 5, dissolved oxygen: 4.27 – 4.56 mg/L, BOD5: 8.14 – 8.72 mg/L, nitrate: 0.24 – 0.26 mg/L, total phospate: 1.19 – 1.62 mg/L. Based on NSF-WQI value, water quality of the Bunter Lake can be categorized as moderate to mesotrophic.Keywords :   Kampar River, Oxbow Lake, watersheed, mesotrophic

Abstract

AbstractZoobenthos commonly attached in the roots, stems, leaves and substrate in the mangrove area of the Sungai Rawa village. A study aims to understand the structure of zoobenthos community in that area has been conducted in April-Mei 2019. Zoobenthos were collected manually in 3 station, namely station 1 (mangrove ecotourism), station 2 (harbor and settlement), and station 3 (natural ecosystem). Water quality parameters measured were temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and sediment fraction and organic matterials content in sediment. There were 13 types of zoobenthos found in the study area, they were belonged to 4 classes, namely Gastropoda (8 species), Polychaeta (2 species), Bivalvia (2 species) dan Malacostraca (1 species). Zoobenthos density ranges from 1,4074-4,5556 organisms/m2. The species diversity index(H’) ranged from 1,66–3,06, uniformity index (E) ranged from 0,57–0,85 dan dominance index (C) ranged from 0,16–0,44. Water quality parameters values in mangrove area were as follows: temperature 28–31 °C, salinity 24–29 ‰, water pH 6-7, soil pH 6,2-6,6, dissolved oxygen 5,2–6,8 mg/L. The sediment was sandy mud to mud with organic materials 33,98–49,47 %. Keywords: Mangrove ecosystem, Zoobenthos community, Epifauna, Sediment

Abstract

AbstractFreshwater crab is widely distributed in river, lake, swamp, canal, and pond. Riau Province has many freshwater crabs, however habitat characteristics information of these organisms are poorly known. This study in Sawah village from the Kampar Utara District, Province of Riau aimed to understand the habitat caracteristics of freshwater crab types in had been collected on june 2021 with random collection method using a bamboo traps and scoop net with 3 sampling sites in the Sawah village . There were trapped 27 crabs and all of them belonged to a single, Gecarcinucidae Family, Parathelpusa Genus. The crab most have been foundon first sampling site and avarage density is 1,42 ind/m2 were obtained from the shallow riverines with aquatic vegetation are most numerous from second and third sampling sites other. The value of water qualityparameters measured were temperature 30oC, transperancy  and depth 34-55 cm, pH 5, dissolved oxygen 7,2-8,0 mg/L and free carbondioxide 0,4-0,5 mg/L. Based on the results of PPNo. 22 Year of 2021 Class number II aboutwater quality management and water pollution controlit can be concluded that the habitat of Parathelpusa in Riau is shallow riverine with dense aquatic vegetation.Keywords: Freshwater crab, Gecarcinucidae, Parathelphusa, Kampar

Abstract

This research was conducted from July - August 2010 in Sungai BakauRegion, Sinaboi Sub Distric, Rokan Hilr Regency, Riau Province. This research aimsto identify spesies mangrove in Sungai Bakau region, lokan abundance and also tounderstand the relationship between mangrove density with abundance of bivalvia.The result showed that 9 species of mangrove were found: Avicennia marina,Avicennia alba, Rhizophora apiculata, R. mucronata, Bruguiera gymnorhyza, Soneratiaalba, S. coseolaris, and Nypa fruticans. Density of mangrove between 743 – 2.001trees/ha. In each stasion, there were 2 kinds of bivalvia such as Polymesoda expansa andPharus sp. The abundance of bivalvia 3.400 – 5.645 organism/m2. The highestabundance was obtained in the 3rd station (5.645 organism/m2), while the lowest was inthe 2nd station (3.400 organism/m2). To found out relation between mangrove densityand bivalvia abundance, the data were analized by using simple linier regretion.Theregression line test between mangrove density with abundance of bivalvia showed theequation Y=686,486 + 2,470 X with determine coefisien (R2) is 0,980.Keyword : mangrove, bivalvia, density, abundance, Sungai Bakau
