Abstract

A study aims to understand the community structure of mangrove that grow in the SungaiAlam village, Riau has been conducted from January to February 2014. Sampling was doneusing a line plot sampling method. Mangrove in the sampling sites were divided in to seedling,sapling, poles and trees. Mangroves were identified based on Rusila at al (2006), Bengen (2001)and Saparinto (2007). While data were analized following English, Wilkinson, and Baker (1994).Results shown that there were 10 mangrove types (8 families) present in the samplingarea they were Avicennia alba, Sonneratia alba, Acanthus ilicifolius, Acrostichum speciosum,Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora apiculata, Nypa fruticans, Lumnitzeraracemosa and Xylocarpus granatum. The dominant species in the research area is Rhizophoraspp. Mangrove distribution on this research influenched by sediment types. Mangrove vegetationdominated by Avicennia spp. and Sonneratia spp. in the deep muddy area. While in the shallowmuddy area, it was dominated by Rhizophora spp. In the dry area Xylocarpus spp., Rhizophoraspp., and Nypa spp. were dominant. Shannon and Winner index of the mangrove ranged from0,66-1,92 and dominancy index (C) ranged from 0,36-0,1. Temperature ranged 28-30oC, land pH6, water pH ranged 6-7, and salinity ranged 21-22o/oo.Keyword : Mangrove, Community structure, Sungai Alam Village

Abstract

Abstract Thynnichthysthynnoides is commonly inhabit the Bunter Lake. A research aims to understandthe growth rateof the fish in the Bunter Lake has been conducted in April-May 2019. The method used in this study is a survey method in which the waters of Lake Bunter as a research location. The fish was sampled everyday for24 days, using gillnets. The fish that are taken from the smallest to the largest, which represent each size and weight of the fish.Results shown that theasymptotic length ((L∞) 20.11 mm, growth coefficient (K) 0.74/year, and t0 -0.2426/year. It means that the growth of fish in Lake Bunter takes 6 months to reach an asymptotic length value. Results shown thatthe water quality of the Bunter Lake are as follows temperature 29-30oC, tranparancy40-65 cm, depth1,80-9,10 M, pH 9 and dissolved oxsygen3,8-4,4 mg/L. Water quality in the Bunter Lake is able to support the life of T. thynnoides.    Keywords :Oxbow lake, growth coefficient, water quality,growth, asymptotic length

Abstract

ABSTRACTPeriphyton is a sessile microscopic organism that attach on certain substrate. A research aims to understand types and abundance of periphyton attached in the lotus leaves present in the Bandar Kayangan dam, Pekanbaru has been conducted Februari 2019. There were 3 stations, around floating caged fish culture (Station 1), in the water closed to teak plantations (Station 2) and in the recreational area (Station 3). Samplings were conducted 3 times, once/week. Lotus leaves were collected and periphytons were obtained through scraping upper and lower surface of the leaf (5 ×5 cm). Periphyton collected were preserved using Lugol 1% and then were indentified. Result shown that there were 24 periphyton species present and they were belonged to classes, Cynanophyceae (3 species), Chlorophyceae (5 species), Bacillariophycea (11 species), and Euglenophyceae (1 species). Abundance of the periphyton ranged from 2,317-2,621 cells/cm2, diversity index was 4.148-4.242 and dominancy index was 0.054-0.060. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that the Bandar Kayangan dam water was fertile..Keywords:lotic, sessile organism,  natural substrats, trophic state

Abstract

This study was conducted in April 2016 in the Black Water RiverPekanbaru in Riau. This study aims to determine the water quality of the BlackWater River Pekanbaru in terms of aspects of physics, chemistry andphytoplankton community. Samples were taken at four stations, namely upstream,middle, downstream rivers, and estuaries. Time taking water samples performedtwice at each station began at 09.00-15.00 pm with an interval of one week.Based on the results of research in the Black Water River Pekanbaru foundfour types of phytoplankton are classified in three classes of Bacillariophyceae(1jenis), Chlorophyceae (one type), and Cyanophyceae (2Jenis). Total abundanceof phytoplankton ranges from 225-1575 cells / L. The value of the diversity index(H ') ranged 0,6954- 0.8907, uniformity index (E) ranges from 0.1241 to 0.2679,and the dominance index (C) ranges from 0.6525 to 0.8205. Water qualityparameters in which the temperature can range from 27.67 - 29,330C, brightnessranges from 31.8 to 33.5 cm, pH 5, dissolved oxygen ranges from 4.96 to 6.73 mg/ L, nitrate ranged 0,1222- 0.6583 mg / L and phosphate ranging from 0.532 to0.8086 mg / L. Based on the results of this study concluded that the totalabundance of phytoplankton showed that Black Water River Pekanbaru classifiedinto waters with low fertility rate.Kata Kunci: Sungai Air Hitam, Kualitas Air, Indeks Kimia

Abstract

The Kampar River received pollutants originated from anthropogenic activities along the river and thus negatively affect the water quality in general. To understand the water quality of the river based on periphyton community structure and WQI-NSF Index, a research was conducted from January to March 2017. There were five (5) sampling points. Water samples were taken 3 times/ week. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, turbidity, transparency, current speed, total suspended solid, depth, pH, DO, BOD5, nitrate, phosphate and types of periphyton present. Results shown that there were 5 classes of periphyton present, namely Cyanophyceae (8 species), Chlorophyceae (16 species), Bacillarophyceae (18 species), Xantophyceae (2 species) and Euglenophyceae (2 species). Water quality parameters are as follows : Temperature 30.3-310C, turbidity 8.1-11.22 FTU, transparency 61.25-79 cm, current speed 25-36 cm/s, TSS 10.3–16.17 mg/L, TDS 11.17– 16.75 mg/L, depth 17-138 cm, pH 5–5.17, dissolved oxygen 5.47– 6.23 mg/L, BOD5 2.59–3.38 mg/L, nitrate 0.0822-0.1803 mg/L and phosphate 0.4352-0.4823 mg/L. The value of the WQI-NSF index was 62-66, indicates that the river is on moderate condition.Keywords : Kampar River, Water Quality, WQI-NSF, Periphyton

Abstract

This research was conducted from January-February 2014 in Sungai Alam Village,Bengkalis Sub District, Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. The aim of research is tounderstand the relationship between mangrove density with abundance of bivalva.The result showed that 7 species of mangrove were found: Avicennia alba,Sonneratia alba, Rhizopora apiculata, R. mucronata, R. stylosa, Lumnitzera racemosa,Xylocarpus granatum. Density of mangrove between 2.834-4.233 trees/Ha. In eachstation, there were 2 kinds of bivalva such as Polymesoda expansa and Pharus sp. Theabundance of bivalva between 834 – 2.000 organism/Ha. The highest abundance wasobtained in the 3rd stasion (2000 organism/Ha), while the lowest was obtained in the 1ststation (834 organism/Ha). To found out relation between mangrove density and bivalvaabundance, the data were analized by using simple linier regretion. The regression line testbetween mangrove density with abundance of bivalva showed the equation Y= 272,3 +0,194 X with determine coefisien (R2) is 0,266 or 26,6 %.Keywords : Mangrove density, bivalva abundance, Sungai Alam, Bengkalis, Riau

Abstract

This research was conducted from January to February 2014 in the Air Hitam River,the city of Pekanbaru. This research aims to determine the condition of the Air Hitam Riverwater quality in terms of some aspects of physics, chemistry and biology macrozoobenthosorganisms. . There were 4 stations and 3 sampling points in each station. Water samples weretaken 3 times, once/ week. Water quality parameters measured were temperature, turbidity,current speed, total suspended solid, DO, pH, BOD and COD. While macrozoobenthos dataanalysis using the FBI index (Family Biotic Index).The results show that there are 9 classes / order, namely Gastropod (5 families),Trichoptera (2 families), Diptera (2 families), Ephemeroptera (1 family), Coleoptera (1family), Polydesmida, nematodes, Hydracarina and Oligochaeta. Water quality parametersare as follows: Temperature: 27.67-29.33 0C, turbidity: 9-17.56 NTU, current speed: 6-35cm/s, total suspended solid: 4.67-7.78 mg/l, DO: 4.96 -6.73 mg/l, COD: 22.40-38.40 mg/l,BOD5: 1.40-4.42 mg/l and pH: 5. Based on the Family Biotic Index macrozoobenthos, it canbe concluded that the level of water pollution in the Air Hitam River ranged from 5.31(polluted enough) to 6.93 (very much polluted). Based Storet Index, it can be concluded thatthe level of water pollution in the Air Hitam River is being polluted.Keywords : Air Hitam River, Water Quality, Family Biotic Index macrozoobenthos.

Abstract

 ABSTRACTMangrove river swamp village is one of the mangroves in Siak Regency, Riau Province. This study aims to determine the structure of the phytoplankton community in the mangrove ecosystem, which was conducted in April 2019. Samples were taken 3 times, once / week, in 3 different regions. The results found that there were 19 species of phytoplankton in mangrove waters of swamp river villages. Phytoplankton consists of 4 (four) classes, namely: Bacillariophyceae (14 types), Chlorophyceae (1 type), Cyanophyceae (3 types), and Xantophyceae (1 type). The abundance of phytoplankton species in the waters ranges from 5375 -13550cells / L. The results of the phytoplankton species diversity index (H ') in the mangrove waters of Sungai Rawa Village ranged from 2.9323 – 3.8107, the dominance index (C) ranged from 0.0757 -0.1365and the uniformity index (E) ranged from 0.7174 - 0.9323. Water quality in the mangrove waters of Sungai Rawa Village is a temperature of 29-30ºC, brightness 52-76 cm, pH 7, salinity 24.33-26.33‰, dissolved oxygen 5.03-6.13 mg / L, free carbon dioxide 2.50 -3.28 mg / L, nitrate 0.08-0.16 mg / L and phosphate in the range 0.09-0.17 mg / L.Keywords: community structure, mangrove ecosystems, Bacillariophyceae

Abstract

The research was conducted in Maret 2013. This study aims to understandbivalves communities in mangrove area Mesjid Lama village. The method used in this research is the case study method. This research executed at three perception station with different condition.Data analysis using diversity index (H'), dominance index (C) and equitability index (E) and the value of bivalves abundance. Observations found one families are Corbicullidae.In the surface, the bivalves abundance was ranged from 25.000-51.667ind/ha.; mangrove density 600-1.522trees/ha; diversity index 0,8768 - 0,9446; dominance index 0,558–0,5378; equitability index 0,9142–0,9446; temperatures ranging 29– 31⁰ C; water pH 8; lan pH 7,51-7,62 ; salinity 15-25 o/oo; organic material 34,7-55,1 % and sediment fraction 66,6-75,9 %..Keyword : Community of fish, water quality, activities, Singkarak Lake.

Abstract

The research has been done on february 2014 in Sungai Alam Village, Bengkalis Subdistrict,Bengkalis Regency, Riau Province. A research aims to understand the Productionand Decomposition Rate of Mangrove Litter in Sungai Alam Village. There were 3 stationsand 3 plots in each station (station 1 in the mangrove conservation, station 2 in the goodmangrove forest and station 3 in the mangrove exploited wisely). In each plot, 1 net 1 x 1 m2were placed mangrove dominant. This net 2 meters above the mangrove forest floor. The bag(nets 20 cm x 10 cm) was filled with 10 grams litter and used for studying the litterdecomposition rate. The bag were placed in forest floor still be suffused of water. Sampel forlitter production, decomposition rate and water quality were taken once of 7 days (3 times).Results shown the highest litter production was ini St 2 (52,5 gr/m2/day) and thelowest was in the St 1 (25,151 gr/m2/day). Decomposition rate of the litter in each samplingpoints was relatively low in the 1st week and become faster in the 3st week. The highestdecomposition rate litter mangrove (lief, stick, flower or fruit) was in the St III, while thelowest was in the St 1.Keywords : Mangrove litter, litter decimposition rate, Sungai Alam, Riau
