Abstract

The study of the rationality of consumption behavior in choosing Islamic banking can use many frameworks of thought, but the writing of this paper is devoted to the use of an Islamic economic philosophy framework based on the Quran because its object is the issue of religious obedience as a reason for Muslim consumers to choose Islamic banking. His study is focused on the interpretation of the verses of the Koran regarding the consumption behavior of the perpetrators. This behavioral study is then used to analyze consumer tendencies towards the existence of usury by switching to Islamic banks. Religious obedience is a rational motivator like personal satisfaction because both of them both need information to base their consumption patterns. This is based on the scope of knowledge that gives a positive value to the consideration of prevailing social norms. Therefore, in socialization, persuasive alternative steps need to be taken. This method requires the involvement of religious, community and government elements.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the resilience of informal sector workers in the Kajen Bantul community. As they share many similarities, according to Emile Durkheim’s theory, they may own social solidarity. This research questioned the relationship between social solidarity and the ability to create social and economic resilience using qualitative method. The data were collected through participatory observations and interviews with the members of Kajen society especially those working in pottery making. Using Durkheim’s theory, this research finds that the latter works more obviously between two solidarities in Kajen: organic and mechanic solidarity. There is no relation between mechanic solidarity and economic resilience as the collective consciousness to build societal organization for the safety net during post Covid-19 was still absent. In managing their resilience, the people are still in the stage of immediate coping mechanism yet unable to design a more comprehensive system of resilience. Therefore, it is suggested that a societal organization is created for that matter.

Abstract

The banks of the Gajahwong River in Yogyakarta City are part of the slum area based on a decree from the Mayor of Yogyakarta in 2016. Various Community-Based Environmental Empowerment Programs (PLPBK) have been implemented until 2022. For this reason, it is necessary to carry out a qualitative evaluation of the success of its implementation in overcoming slums in a sustainable manner, including involvement the parties in it. The condition of the Warungboto Slum Area is a mild slum with an average sectoral slum of 23.7% in certain RTs. The existence of the Kotaku program with the handling of increasing settlements in terms of road infrastructure, drainage, infiltration wells has had an impact on the non-slum parameter score but the handling of house buildings and riverbank inspection roads is still problematic. Thus the involvement and commitment of all parties, the government, local communities as well as NGOs and universities need to be strengthened so that slum reduction can be optimally realized.
