Abstract

The problem faced by the students of Madrasah Diniyah (Madin) Nurunnahdloh Malang is the students’ lack of interest and ability to give speeches in English. Thus, to show their willingness to improve their students’ ability, Madin and the community dedication team conducted intensive and exciting training in presenting a speech in English. This training aims to make the students able to make speeches in English, and they are accustomed to communicating in English. Thirty students of Madin Nurunnahdoh participated in this training. The training was carried out for eight meetings, once a week, and face-to-face meetings from January 2022 to April 2022 to comply with health protocols. The primary method used is the demonstration method. However, it also combines several existing methods, such as lectures, discussions, and questions and answers. The result of the training in this service is the active involvement of the students and their positive response to this training, which triggers their motivation to learn more. In addition, creating a speech learning module in English for Madin students helped the team teach them. Then, this training led to seven students who could give speeches in English. In addition, twenty-seven students can communicate in English, which can later be improved if the training is sustainable.
