The study used a content analysis method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained from netizens' comments on Gibran's uploads from March to April 2025. The results of the study showed various types of hate speech, such as those motivated by politics, physical, psychological, racism, and age. The dominant forms of speech include insults, provocation, and blasphemy. Netizens' responses were divided into two: supporting and rejecting. Supporting responses appeared in the form of justification or sarcasm, while rejecting responses showed awareness of digital ethics and an invitation to respect each other. This study highlights the polarization of opinion in the digital space as well as the importance of digital literacy, social media ethics, and content moderation regulations to create healthy public communication.

Abstract

This study examines the body gestures of students at Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara in virtual classrooms, lecturers’ responses to these gestures, and the meanings implied in students’ nonverbal behavior from a theoretical perspective. The research addresses how nonverbal communication shapes engagement in post-pandemic online learning environments. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation of student interactions via the Zoom platform and analyzed using George Kelly’s gesture theory and Vijai Kumar’s gesture theory. The findings indicate that students’ gestures are predominantly adaptive (adaptors) rather than illustrative or regulatory, reflecting intrapersonal psychological states such as confusion, boredom, hesitation, or cognitive processing. These gestures often create ambiguity due to limited verbal clarification. The study argues that Kumar’s framework is more applicable for assessing real-time student engagement, while Kelly’s theory provides deeper insight into students’ cognitive construction of learning experiences. The results highlight that weak nonverbal interaction contributes to reduced effectiveness of online learning, suggesting the need for lecturers to incorporate awareness of gesture theory and nonverbal communication strategies to foster meaningful virtual classroom engagement.

Abstract

The development of information technology is currently increasingly rapid and produces very large amounts of data. Grocery store or also commonly known as UD. Ridho has several problems in determining the availability of basic food ingredients and the amount of demand for goods is uncertain, which means that grocery stores often experience shortages of supplies and/or excess supplies of basic food supplies at certain times. The forecasting method that will be used in this research is Fuzzy Time Series (FTS) with the aim of overcoming this problem by estimating sales of goods (basic necessities) at UD. Ridho in Dolok Masihul. The results obtained are a system that was built to predict sales of basic food ingredients at UD. Ridho in Dolok Masihul is suitable for use so it is hoped that it can help UD owners. Ridho in determining the amount of basic food supplies in the future correctly so that UD. Ridho did not experience any losses or reduced income.
