Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk melakukan melakukan pemeriksaan patologi anatomi terhadap perubahan organ secara makroskopis dan isolasi dan identifikasi bakteri penyebab gejala fowl cholera pada merpati (Columba livia). Merpati mengalami gangguan pernafasan, keluar discharge nasal berwarna keruh, feses berbentuk pasta berwarna hijau, setelah dilakukan pemeriksaan terhadap tanda klinis yang muncul, selanjutnya dilakukan nekropsi dan pemeriksaan patologi anatomi serta isolasi bakteri dari best sample yang mengalami perubahan. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan pulmo mengalami hemoragi dengan konsistensi rapuh. Hepar mengalami hemoragi, Jantung mengalami hiperemi. Hasil isolasi bakteri menunjukkan adanya bakteri Pasteurella multocida penyebab penyakit fowl cholera. Bakteri tumbuh pada blood agar (BA) dengan morfologi koloni berwarna abu-abu, tanpa hemolisa, pada mac conkey agar (MCA) tidak terdapat pertumbuhan bakteri, bakteri gram negatif, coccobasil, pada media triple sugar iron agar (TSIA), bagian slant acid, butt acid, gas dan H2S negatif, hasil pengujian sulfide indole motility (SIM) terdapat cincin merah artinya indol positif dan bakteri non motil, katalase positif, methyl red (MR) positif, simmon citrate agar (SCA), urease dan voges proskauer (VP) negatif. Disimpulkan bahwa terdapat bakteri Pasteurella multocida pada merpati dengan nomor sampel M-139.

Abstract

Although the existence of house gecko around humans brings advantage as biological control of insects, but also having the risk to harm human health. 30 house gecko with body length criteria of 4 – 6 cm, which were found on the outer walls of Surabaya housing were needed to count the total bacteria and the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria in their feces. . The pour plate method was used to determine the total bacteria (Total Plate Count) in feces, by counting the number of colonies that grow on the surface of the Nutrient Agar media. The streak method to search for Escherichia coli was conducted with bacteria isolation on Eosin Methylene Blue Agar , then incubating at a temperature of 37°C for 24 hours. Colonies that grow on the media are subjected to Gram staining, testing the ability of bacteria to ferment sugar which includes: Triple Suger Iron Agar, Methy Red and Voges Proskauer media. Another test carried out was Sulfid Indol Motility Agar, Simon Citrat Agar. The average total bacteria in lizard feces is 2x108 CFU/ml. , Escherichia coli content was found in 5 lizard fecal samples.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of crushed garlic at concentrations of 2%, 4%, and 6% against isolates of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli bacteria that have been tested for antibiotic sensitivity to Ciprofloxacin 5 µg, Gentamicin 10 µg, and Tetracycline 30 µg. The bacterial isolates were obtained from nasal mucosa samples from dogs and wound swabs from birds, chicken liver samples, chicken meat, chicken intestines, and beef. Isolates that were isolated and Identification of bacteria have confirmed phenotypically were then tested for sensitivity to antibiotics, ciprofloxacin 5 µg, gentamicin 10 µg, tetracycline 30 µg. Furthermore, the effectiveness of garlic as an antibacterial was tested using the disk diffusion method. Garlic was crushed and made at 2%, 4%, and 6% concentrations. The results obtained were presented in table form and presented descriptively. E. coli bacteria from chicken intestines are resistant to antibiotics ciprofloxacin 5 µg, gentamicin 10 µg, tetracycline 30 µg, while E. coli isolates from beef are still sensitive to antibiotics, ciprofloxacin 5 µg, gentamicin 10 µg, tetracycline 30 µg. S. aureus from bird wounds is resistant to gentamicin 10 µg, and isolates from dog nasal mucosa swabs are resistant to tetracycline 30 µg. Pureed garlic has good antibacterial activity at concentrations of 2%, 4%, and 6% against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial isolates, both those that are resistant to antibiotics and isolates that are sensitive to antibiotics, ciprofloxacin 5 µg, gentamicin 10 µg, tetracycline 30 µg.

Abstract

The aimed of this study was to determine the effectivity of pineapple essence (Ananas Comosus) as a natural reservative in chicken meat with parameters of total colony of bacteria and pH. The experimental design used completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 6 replications. The treatments applied were P0 as a control, P1 (25% pineapple essence), P2 (50% pineapple essence), and P3 (100% pineapple essence). The parameters of this study were the total colony of bacteria (TPC) and pH. The results of the statistical analysis showed that the total colony of bacteria in meat were P0 = 4,2 x104, P1 = 2,0 x 104, P2 = 1,9 x 104, dan P3 = 1,2 x 104. pH in chicken meat P0 = 5,0 ± 0,17a, P1 = 4,2 ± 0,05b, P2 = 4,0 ± 0,08c, dan P3 = 3,9 ± 0,10d.. The results of this study showed significant difference in chicken meat containing pineapple essence on total colony of bacteria and pH. The most effective result was chicken meat with 100% pineapple essence.

Abstract

The aimed of this study to determine the sensitivity of Black garlic to the growth of Salmonella sp. with the disc paper test method (Kirby-bauer) as many as five treatments and five repetitions, P0- as a negative control using DMSO, P0+ as a positive control with chloramphenicol 30 μg. P1 as a treatment with a concentration of Black garlic of 80%, P2 as a treatment with a concentration of Black garlic of 90%, and P3 as a treatment with a concentration of Black garlic of 100%. Salmonella sp. inhibition zone results namely 00.0 mm at negative control, 10.28 mm at 80% concentration, 12.33 mm at 90% concentration, 14.56 mm at 100% concentration, and 29.00 mm at positive control. PIDG results were 0.00% in negative control, 71.40% at 80% concentration, 105.54% at 90% concentration, 142.68% at 100% concentration, and 383.42% in positive control. The data were obtained using One Way ANOVA which showed antibacterial sensitivity in Black garlic to Salmonella sp. with signification (P<0.05) so that it had a noticeable difference. The results of the disc paper test (Kirby-bauer) stated that Black garlic with a concentration of 100% has an active compound that is betterfor its activities in inhibiting the growth of Salmonella sp.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian Masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan kualitas susu melalui pencegahan mastitis subklinis pada wilayah peternakan sapi perah di Bendul Merisi Surabaya. Urgensi dilakukan pengabdian ini yaitu atas dasar tidak adanya KUD yang mengontrol Kesehatan sapi perah di wilayah tersebut, penyakit mastitis subklinis mempengaruhi kualitas susu namun tidak dapat dilihat secara langsung oleh peternak, lokasi peternakan dekat dengan penduduk, sehingga perlu edukasi agar tidak mudah terjadi kontaminasi silang dari agen infeksi yang menyebabkan penyakit. Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini terdiri beberapa tahapan. Pertama dilakukan kontrol penyakit mastitis subklinis melalui pengujian CMT, kemudian dilakukan isolasi bakteri pada sampel susu. Tahap selanjutnya dilakukan penyuluhan mengenai pencegahan penyakit mastitis pada sapi perah serta penggunaan antiseptik dan desinfektan. Berdasarkan hasil uji CMT didapatkan bahwa empat sampel negatif dan sampel yang positif hanya sampai positif dua. Hasil pengujan isolasi bakteri menunjukkan adanya pertumbuhan koloni bakteri Escherichia coli. Sampel pada uji CMT positif tidak selalu menunjukkan adanya bakteri, begitu juga sampel yang dilakukan uji CMT dengan hasil negatif, terdapat pertumbuhan bakteri. Pengujian tersebut penting untuk dilakukan untuk Tindakan pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit. Peternak di bendul merisi Surabaya harus menerapkan prinsif aseptis dan menggunakan desinfektan pada kandang
