Abstract

Escherichia coli is a normal flora in the digestive system of laying hens that are non-pathogenic, which can change into pathogens and cause the egg production to decrease. So the combination of Lactococcus lactis and Lactobacillus acidophilus probiotics is expected to be able to overcome E. coli and become a substitute for the  antibiotics (Virginiamycin) in animal feed. This study aims to determine business analysis including Break Event Points (BEP), Revenue Cost Ratio (R / C Ratio), Payback Period (PP) and Return On Investment (ROI). The best results obtained for the calculation of Break Event Point (BEP) on a0b2 treatment with a BEP of Rp. 17,587,24 with BEP production on a1b2 of 14,36 kg, Revenue Cost Ratio (R / C Ratio) generates a value of 1,543 for treatment a0b2, Payback Period (PP) generates a value of 1 year 3 months 9 days and Return On Investment (ROI) generates a value of 3. It was concluded that the a0b2 treatment had good results to be developed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find the effect combination probiotic Lactococccus lactis and Lactobacillus casei on the laying hens infected with bacteria Escherichia coli on feed consumption and feed conversion ratio (FCR). The materials used in this experiment were 120 laying hens aged 25 weeks. Feeds were used commercial concentrate produced by PT. New Hope East Java, type 7183A. In this study were added of six treatments that is (a0b0) chicken without infection and without treatment, (a0b1) chicken without infection plus Antibiotic Growth Promoter (AGP), (a0b2) chicken without infection plus probiotic, (a1b0) chicken infection without treatment, (a1b1) chicken infection plus AGP. (a1b2) chicken infection plus probiotic. Each treatment was repeated four times. The variables measured were are feed consumption (g/bird/day) and feed conversion ratio (%). Data were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), if between treatment showed significant effect were analysed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result of this research shows that the use of probiotic Lactococccus lactis and Lactobacillus casei on the laying hens infected with bacteria Escherichia coli give a real distinction ( P0,05) towards feed consumption and showed a real distinction (P 0.05) towards feed conversion ratio. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the addition of probiotic Lactococccus lactis and Lactobacillus casei on the laying hens infected with bacteria Escherichia coli can improve feed consumption, feed conversion ratio (FCR) of laying hens, hen day production (HDP) and egg weight.

Abstract

Kediri is a densely populated city that has problems regarding livestock. The problems that are often experienced are the land for raising livestock and the availability of feed. Raising rabbits is one of the ways used by the Sumber Rejeki livestock group in Kediri. Rabbits can digest various types of feed, so that it can facilitate the maintenance process, especially in the Kediri area which utilizes local feed resources. Rabbits have good potential and can be superior in terms of reproduction and production. The hope is that with rabbit cultivation, group members will be able to improve the economy and nutritional value of the family or the wider community. Constraints that are often experienced by rabbit breeders are the number of puppies that are relatively low in each period, the mortality rate is quite high in puppies and adult rabbits due to frequent bloating and diarrhea, and the lack of information about the local waste that can be used as feed for rabbits. Lack of knowledge in preparing rations for rabbits at each different phase, and lack of knowledge about online marketing. The solution that is expected is to carry out training on proper rabbit cultivation, pregnancy checks, counseling on handling forage, and training members of livestock groups to prepare rabbit rations. Additional provision of complete feed ingredients for rabbits supplemented with cabbage leaves, moringa leaves, and sengon leaves as well as pollard, rice bran, copra meal, soybean meal, drops, and mineral salts. And don't forget to teach marketing of their products in the form of rabbits and biscuits for rabbits online in electronic media and market places. The resulting outputs include increasing the number of children in the next period, reducing the mortality rate of rabbits, and making biscuit-shaped feed so that it is easier to bite and can be consumed by other rodents. This feed product will later be referred to as rabbit bio supplement biscuits. Making rations for weaning rabbits and brooders.

Abstract

Ascites is a clinical manifestation of a disease with fluid leaking into the abdominal cavity either transudate or exudate. Cat has symptoms of abdominal distension and pallor of the gingival mucosa but the general condition is still good. Paracentesis is performed to remove fluid and perform fluid checks as well as blood and blood chemistry tests to support the diagnosis. The fluid released is in the form of a transudate (clear and liquid), blood examination reveals anemia, blood chemistry examination only shows a low albumin level (hypoalbuminemia), then the diagnosis is established ascites due to hypoalbuminemia. Mola's cat was hospitalized with diuretic therapy (furosemide), Hematodin® injection, Catosal® injection, albumin supplement (Fibumin), Hepacartine supplement, Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory and antipyretic Tolfenamic Acid and paracentesis (puncture). During the hospitalization showed progress in the cat, the decrease in fluid was marked by a decrease in the size of the abdomen in the cat, although it took a long time. There was no deterioration in the condition during hospitalization. The fever that appears can be controlled by giving tolfenamic acid and the temperature is still normal until now.

Abstract

Abstract    Background: The causes of cases of Acute Moist Dermatitis (AMD) or also known as hotspots are numerous. Early AMD is accompanied by symptoms of pruritus or different behaviors triggered by itching such as scratching or licking. Many causes of pruritus in cats such as hypersensitivity dermatitis, ectoparasites, fungal infections, bacterial infections, or skin reactions to systemic diseases. Gradually clinical symptoms will occur alopecia and erythema because it is very itchy, moist and smells on the surface of the skin. Case Description: A male Persian cat, 1.6 years old and weighing 3.4 kg, presented with a history of pruritus, alopecia, erythema and wet skin in several locations, especially around the neck, and had been present for 3 months. Appetite to eat and drink is not very good because the cat is busy scratching and biting its fur due to excessive itching. Examination Results and Treatments: After clinical examination and microscopic examination of samples, the main trigger in this case was furmite in a cat, Lynxacarus radovskyi with secondary bacterial infection causing Acute Moist Dermatitis (AMD). Not only that, ectoparasites in this case also cause other systemic diseases, namely suspicion of blood parasites that cause thrombocytopenia as evidenced by the results of a Complete Blood Count (CBC), and is characterized by clinical symptoms of hematuria and epistaxis. This cat underwent intensive treatment for several weeks with several combinations of drugs such as antiparasitics, antibiotics. antihistamines, NSID and vitamins. Conclusion: This
