Abstract

As God's creation, humans are given spirits by God; the spirit has various functions and uses in life. In 2 Timothy 1: 7 it is written about the spirit of fear, a spirit that awakens strength, love and order. This article examines the meaning of "the spirit of fear, the spirit that awakens strength, love and order" in 2 Timothy 1: 7. This study is a qualitative study using descriptive methods of literature and text analysis. The results obtained are: First, God never gave a spirit that made the servants of God afraid in preaching the Gospel, but God gave a spirit that was able to have strength, love and self-control. So that, despite pressure and obstacles, God's servant is still able to carry out and finish his ministry in preaching the gospel. Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is a multi systemic disease which recognized by the development of hypertension after 20 weeks of gestation with the presence of proteinuria or any signs indicative of target organ injury. The correct diagnosis and classification of the disease are essential since the therapies are unique in each class. Moreover, the angiogenic factors claims to play a significant role in the endothelial injury which plays as an etiology for preeclampsia. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the differences between angiogenic factors in pregnancy mice with preeclampsia models after administration of VEGF-121. Subjects and Method: Subject of the study were swiss’s strains of pregnancy mice (Mus musculus) which divided into three groups that consist of 10 subject of study in each group. Subjects for this research were recruited between March and May 2015 in Biomedical Laboratory of The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Airlangga as part of a cross sectional study designed for analytical experimental. The angiogenic factor which measured was PIGF serum levels with ELISA method and only group of pregnant mice with preeclampsia model which administred with injection of VEGF-121. Results: This study was conducted of 30 male and 30 female Mus musculus with homogeneous characteristic in terms of age, average body weight and have never been pregnant before. The differences in PIGF serum levels between three observed group are significant (p=0.035). Conclusion: Administration of VEGF-121 increased the PlGF serum levels in pregnant mice with preeclampsia model. Thus, the administration of VEGF-121 improves the condition of endothelial damage in preeclampsia with an increase in PlGF levels.

Abstract

Background: Cervical cancer plays a role as the leading cause of cancer death for women in developing countries. Radiation therapy kills cancer cells through double strand breaks and the apoptotic process. Bax protein is one of the regulators of apoptosis. This study analyzed the role of Bax expression as a prognostic factor in radiation therapy response in reducing tumor size in patients with advanced cervical cancer (IIB-IIIB). Subjects and Method: This research is a retrospective cohort observational analytic study from January 2021 to April 2021 in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in collaboration with the Department of Anatomical Pathology, Dr. Moewardi Hospital, Surakarta, Indonesia. This study involved 30 cervical cancer stage IIB-IIIB patients. The level of Bax expression was determined by immunohistochemical examination. ROC curve analysis was used to find cut-off points and evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of Bax in the prognosis of radiotherapy in patients with advanced cervical cancer (IIB-IIIB). Chi square test was used to determine the relationship between Bax expression and changes in tumor size in cervical cancer patients. Results: The ROC curve analysis showed that the AUC Bax score in prognosis of radiation therapy was 0.575 (CI 95%= 0.32 to 0.83) and the cutoff point was 62.5%. Based on the analysis of the ROC curve, the Bax expression of 62.5% shows a sensitivity of 56.5% and a specificity of 71.4%. Analysis of the relationship between Bax protein expression on changes in tumor size using the Chi Square test showed a P value of 0.390 (p> 0.05). Conclusion: The expression of Bax protein cannot play a role as a prognostic factor in the response of radiation therapy to the reduction in tumor size in stage IIB-IIIB uterine cervical cancer.

Abstract

In the life of a Christian, the Holy Spirit has a very important role. In every detail of their lives, Christians believe that the Holy Spirit directs and guides them. Worship of God by Christians includes those directed and guided by the Holy Spirit. But there are still Christians who prioritize and think about external or worldly things as the main requirement to be able to worship God. Nowadays, worship is mostly done with online worship procedures. However, online worship gets a less religious impression when compared to worship that is carried out in person in a church building. The Apostle Paul emphasized in Philippians 3:3 that every Christian can worship only because of God's grace and also because of the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Christians should no longer depend on external things to come to worship God. This study is a qualitative research using inductive exegesis research methods and bibliography. This study examines the phrase “who worship God in the Spirit” found in Philippians 3:3. The results of the study obtained are: First, Christians experience very strong pressure and temptation to think about external things in worshiping God. Second, Christians must prioritize a spiritual life led by the Holy Spirit in their worship of God, because worship is a gift from God. Both of these results prove that worship carried out using online procedures has the same religious value as worship carried out in church buildings.

Abstract

Soursop (Annona muricata) is reported to have great efficacy in traditional medicine in Indonesia so it is very vulnerable to being faked or sold as low quality. Apart from having a delicious fruit taste, Soursop leaves have also been used as an effective cancer medicine by the public and have been scientifically proven so that Soursop can be used as a phytopharmaceutical product. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out research to determine pharmacognosy parameters and marker compounds as ingredients needed to obtain the authenticity of simplicia and plant extracts. This research includes macroscopic and microscopic examination of leaves, macroscopic and microscopic examination of simplicia, fluorescence characteristics of simplicia, determining the solubility of methanol extract in various non-polar and polar solvents as well as the characteristics of marker compounds that can be used as alternatives to existing marker compounds from Soursop (Annona muricata). The research results obtained are important information as a stage for the identification and standardization of soursop leaves (Annona muricata) as a raw material for herbal medicine.

Abstract

Preeclampsia is hypertension in pregnancy that affects 2% to 8% of pregnancies worldwide and causes significant maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. In the pathogenesis of preeclampsia, placental hypoxia plays an important role, associated with excessive trophoblast apoptosis resulting in decreased trophoblast and spiral arteries invasion. This placental hypoxic condition will induce increased expression of Hypoxia Inducible Factor -1-Alpha (HIF-1-A). L-Arginine is a potent vasodilator presumably to improve preeclampsia placental hypoxic conditions and reduce HIF-1-A expression. This study was an experimental study with a parallel-group post-test only design. Thirty-six preeclamptic mice models were divided into 2 groups. The control group (K1) 18 preeclamptic mice model without treatment and the treatment group (K2) 18 preeclamptic mice given L-Arginine. The independent variable was the administration of L-Arginine and the dependent variable is the placental HIF-1-A expression. Statistical analysis used unpaired t-test on normal data distribution, and Mann Whitney test on abnormal data distribution. The mean of placental HIF-1-A expression K1 was 2.47 ± 1.65 with a minimum value of 0.4 and a maximum value of 6.6. At K2 0.93 ± 0.55 with a minimum value of 0.0 and a maximum value of 2.0. Statistical tests showed that the placental HIF-1-A expression in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group (p <0.001). In conclusion, the expression of HIF-1-A in preeclamptic mice model placenta decreased with L-Arginine administration.

Abstract

Background: Placenta accreta spectrum (PAS) is considered one of the most harmful pregnancy conditions, as it is strongly linked with maternal morbidity and mortality. An accurate and early prenatal diagnosis of PAS allows time for a multidisciplinary team to plan the best course of action for delivery management. The aim of this study is to describe placenta accreta spectrum management and outcomes with early detection and a multidisciplinary team approach.Method: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on 167 cases of placenta accreta from 2016 to 2021. Medical records were then reviewed, and data were collected for delivery management and maternal outcome, including estimated amounts of bleeding, urinary tract injury, delivery time, ICU referral, and maternal death.Result: Delivery management (hysterectomy and conservative management) and maternal bleeding were significantly associated with MAP score (p < 0.05), while urinary tract injury, delivery time, ICU admission, and maternal death were not significantly associated (p > 0.05). 55.1% of patients underwent hysterectomy, and the rest 44.9% underwent conservative surgery. Massive bleeding of more than 2500 mL happened in 54.5% of patients, and the rest 45.5% managed to bleed less than 45.5%. Preterm deliveries accounted for 29.9% of all deliveries, with the remaining 70.1% being term. 5.4% of patients experienced urinary tract injuries. 6.6% of patients were referred to the intensive care unit. The maternal mortality rate is 4.8%.Conclusion: Early detection of the placenta accreta spectrum, as well as good collaboration among members of a multidisciplinary team from various medical fields, are required to ensure the mother and baby's safety and survival.
