Abstract

Numeracy is not only the responsibility of mathematics teachers, but also the responsibility of all non-mathematics teachers, namely teachers who teach subjects other than mathematics. The approach needed is cross-subject numeracy. Based on the results of interviews with partner schools, it was obtained that teachers in these schools still have minimal knowledge about numeracy literacy and numeracy reinforcement in non-mathematics lessons. The solution offered is to provide reinforcement of numeracy literacy materials and provide reinforcement of non-mathematics or cross-subject numeracy literacy materials so that non-mathematics teachers can also improve students' numeracy in subjects other than mathematics. The implementation mechanism consists of 3 main stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. Evaluation of program implementation is measured from the increase in participants' knowledge from pretest to posttest and the participant's response questionnaire to this activity. Based on the results of the community service, it can be concluded that this activity makes a good contribution to increasing the knowledge and understanding of SMP Terpadu Darul Dakwah teachers regarding cross-subject numeracy literacy and examples of learning activities to strengthen numeracy literacy in subjects other than mathematics. The number of participants who experienced an increase in score from pretest to posttest was 100%, meaning that all participants in the activity experienced an increase in knowledge. In addition, it can also be seen from the average pretest of 48 and the average posttest of 75.5. The overall process of implementing this activity went well and smoothly. This activity also received a positive response from the participants with a score percentage of 90.25%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model problem based learning (PBL) berbantu media kartu soal untuk mendukung kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dilihat dari aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, dan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa. Populasi dari penelitian ini siswa kelas VIII MTs. Miftahul Ulum Gondang. Penelitian ini menggunakan Simple Random Sampling yakni kelas VIII-A yang terdiri dari 24 siswa. Penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan desain one shoot case study. Kriteria keberhasilan yang digunakan adalah pembelajaran dikatakan efektif jika ketiga aspek tersebut terpenuhi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas guru mendapatkan presentase 94% sehingga termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik aktivitas siswa mendapatkan presentase 83% sehingga termasuk dalam kategori baik dan hasil tes kemampuan literasi matematika diketahui bahwa siswa memperoleh kriteria kemampuan literasi matematika baik sebanyak 21 siswa, adapun presentase secara klasikal yakni 87%. Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Media, Kartu Soal, Literasi Matematika   Abstract : This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the problem based learning (PBL) model assisted by question card media to support students' mathematical literacy skills from teacher activities, student activities, and students' mathematical literacy skills. The population of this study is grade VIII students of MTs. Miftahul Ulum Gondang. This study uses Simple Random Sampling, namely class VIII-A consisting of 24 students. The research used used descriptive quantitative with a design one shoot case study. The success criterion used is that learning is said to be effective if these three aspects are met. The results of the study showed that teacher activities received a percentage of 94% so that they were included in the very good category, student activities received a percentage of 83% so that they were included in the good category and the results of the mathematical literacy ability test were known that students obtained the criteria for good mathematical literacy skills as many as 21 students The classical percentage is 87%. Keywords: Problem Based Learning (PBL), Media, Question Cards, Mathematical Literacy

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical concepts embedded in the architectural structure of Brahu Temple in Mojokerto as a representation of local ethnomathematics. The research employs a qualitative approach with an ethnographic research design. Data collection techniques include literature review, field observation, and semi-structured interviews with site managers and local cultural figures. Data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model through stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results reveal that Brahu Temple contains various mathematical elements, including circles and cylinders in the stupa-shaped roof structure, squares and rectangular prisms in the temple body, as well as squares and cuboids in the temple base. Additionally, elements of symmetry, reflection, trapezoids, and triangles are also found in ornamental patterns and structural details. These findings indicate that traditional temple architecture can serve as a rich source of learning that integrates mathematical concepts and local cultural values. Therefore, such cultural heritage can be effectively utilized in contextual mathematics learning to enhance students’ numeracy literacy and cultural awareness

Abstract

The development of 21st century competencies such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication has become a key focus in educational institution. These four competencies are closely linked to the use of technology in learning. Unfortunately, the rapid advancement of technology is often not matched by teachers' readiness, both in terms of knowledge and skills. To address this challenge, the team organized a workshop aimed at enhancing teachers' competencies in utilizing Augmented Reality-based learning media at SDN Kranggan 2. The target of this community service activity was all teachers at the school. The program was carried out in three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation, using brainstorming, lecture, and question-and-answer methods. This workshop provided a platform for teachers to share experiences, receive material on technology use in education, and engage in interactive discussions. The results showed a very positive response from participants, with a satisfaction score of 97.4%. Participants were enthusiastic about the training on using Assemblr Studio, as it allowed them to create the needed learning media. Prior to this, they had never attended a training with similar content. In the feedback questionnaire, participants also suggested extending the duration of the workshop to allow for more material to be covered. Additionally, they expressed a desire for follow-up guidance so that all teachers could eventually create engaging learning media using Assemblr Studio and Canva.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy skills of vocational high school students in solving statistics problems with the help of Microsoft Excel based on digital literacy levels, which are grouped into high, medium, and low. The background of this study is based on the importance of mathematical literacy in dealing with everyday problems and the demands of the world of work, as well as the increasing need for digital literacy mastery in the information technology era. Both are essential competencies that support each other, especially in technology-based mathematics learning. The research approach used is descriptive qualitative with a purposive sampling technique, where the selection of subjects is based on the results of the digital literacy questionnaire, equivalence of mathematics scores, and adequate communication skills to support the interview process. The research instruments include a digital literacy questionnaire, a mathematical literacy test in the form of descriptive questions completed using Microsoft Excel, and interview guidelines that have been validated by experts. The data collection procedure was carried out through tests and in-depth interviews, while data analysis included the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate differences in students' mathematical literacy skills based on their digital literacy levels. Students with high digital literacy are able to master mathematical literacy indicators well, including communication, mathematization, problem-solving strategies, and reasoning and argumentation. They can optimally utilize Microsoft Excel features to present data, perform calculations, and draw logical conclusions. Students with moderate digital literacy demonstrate fairly good mastery, but still experience difficulties in aspects of problem-solving strategies and in-depth reasoning. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that digital literacy plays a crucial role in supporting students' mathematical literacy abilities.

Abstract

Numerical ability is a basic mathematical skill needed by vocational high school (SMK) students to support both learning and workplace readiness. However, many students still face challenges, especially in basic arithmetic. This study examined the effectiveness of a differentiated learning model using the drill and practice method to improve students’ numerical ability. The participants were eleventh-grade students from the TKJ, TKR, and OTKP programs at SMK Nasional Mojosari. A quantitative descriptive method with a One-Shot Case Study design was applied, focusing on teacher activity, student activity, and students’ test results as indicators of effectiveness. Data were collected through classroom observations and numerical ability tests, then analyzed by calculating percentage scores. Students were grouped into low, medium, and high categories based on initial test results, and each group received learning activities suited to their level. The findings showed teacher activity at 93.93%, student activity at 93.65%, and numerical test results at 92.86%, all categorized as very good. These results indicate that differentiated learning with drill and practice is effective in strengthening students’ numerical ability in basic arithmetic and supports their preparation for the workplace. Abstrak Kemampuan numerik adalah kemampuan dasar dalam matematika yang dibutuhkan siswa SMK untuk mendukung pembelajaran dan kesiapan kerja, namun pada praktik nyatanya masih banyak siswa yang mengalami kesulitan terutama pada materi aritmatika dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas model pembelajaran diferensiasi berbasis metode drill and practice dalam mendukung kemampuan numerik siswa SMK. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI gabungan TKJ, TKR, dan OTKP di SMK Nasional Mojosari. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan desain One Shot Case Study yang melibatkan tiga indikator efektivitas, yaitu aktivitas guru dan siswa, serta hasil tes kemampuan numerik siswa. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menghitung persentase nilai hasil observasi aktivitas siswa dan guru, serta nilai hasil tes kemampuan numerik siswa. Pembelajaran dilaksanakan dengan mengelompokkan siswa diklasifikasikan menurut hasil tes kemampuan awal dalam kategori kemampuan rendah, sedang, dan tinggi yang masing-masing mendapatkan perlakuan dalam pembelajaran sesuai dengan tingkat kemampuan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas guru memperoleh persentase 93,93%, aktivitas siswa 93,65%, dan hasil tes kemampuan numerik 92,86% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa pembelajaran diferensiasi berbasis drill and practice efektif dalam mendukung kemampuan numerik siswa pada materi aritmatika dasar sebagai bekal siswa dalam dunia kerja.  Kata kunci: pembelajaran diferensiasi, drill and practice, kemampuan numerik, efektivitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to create a digital teaching resource in the form of a flipbook that utilizes local knowledge to help students improve their critical thinking skills in the context of sequences and arithmetic series. The lack of teaching resources that integrate local culture and the low critical thinking abilities of students are the main driving forces behind this research. This study uses the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) by Thiagarajan. The research subjects are 10th-grade students of SMA Islam Diponegoro. Data collection techniques include expert validation, teacher and student response questionnaires, as well as critical thinking ability tests based on indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. The research results show that the developed teaching materials meet the very valid criteria with a percentage of 94%, meet the very practical category with a percentage of 84% from student responses and 85% from teacher responses, and are highly effective with a classical completeness percentage of 70%. Therefore, the digital flipbook teaching material with local wisdom is highly recommended for use in mathematics learning to support students' critical thinking abilities. Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menciptakan sumber daya ajar digital bergaya flipbook yang memanfaatkan pengetahuan lokal untuk membantu siswa meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka dalam hal deret dan deret aritmatika. Minimnya sumber daya ajar yang mengintegrasikan budaya lokal dan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa menjadi pendorong utama penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate) oleh Thiagarajan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA Islam Diponegoro. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi validasi ahli, angket respon guru dan siswa, serta tes kemampuan berpikir kritis berdasarkan indikator interpretasi, analisis, evaluasi, dan inferensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria sangat valid dengan persentase sebesar 94%, memenuhi kategori sangat praktis dengan persentase sebesar 84% dari respon siswa dan 85% dari respon guru, dan sangat efektif dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal 70%. Oleh karena itu, bahan ajar digital flipbook berkearifan local baik digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk mendukung kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Abstract

Abstrak : Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aktivitas guru dalam penerapan model discovery learning untuk mendukung kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi statistika, mendeskripsikan aktivitas siswa dalam penerapan model discovery learning untuk mendukung kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi statistika dan juga mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah menerapkan model discovery learning. Pada penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif dengan desain One Shot Case Study. Dalam pemilihan sampel dari suatu populasi peneliti menggunakan metode Simple Random Sampling dan kelas VIII-A terpilih sebagai sampel penelitian dengan jumlah siswa sebanyak 32. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melalui observasi dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan aktivitas guru memperoleh presentase 92,1% yang termasuk kategori sangat baik dan aktivitas siswa juga mendapatkan presentase 94,1% yang termasuk kategori sangat baik. Hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran discovery learning menunjukkan bahwa siswa memliki kemampuan berpikir kritis sangat tinggi 28,12%, tinggi 4,75 % , sedang 3,12 %, rendah 18,75%, sangat rendah 6,25 %. Kemudian juga  menghitung kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara klasikal dimana siswa yang mendapat nilai minimal pada kategori tinggi atau > 70. Dari data tes kemampuan berpikir kritis terdapat sebanyak 23 siswa dari 32 siswa yang mendapatkan nilai > 70 dalam melaksanakan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dan mendapatkan presentase 71,87 %.Kata Kunci : Discovery Learning; kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa; Statistika

Abstract

Mathematics instruction at SMA Negeri 1 Mojosari, particularly in Grade X trigonometry, remains dominated by conventional media such as PowerPoint and videos, resulting in low student engagement and suboptimal numeracy literacy outcomes. Observations and interviews revealed that approximately 75% of students had not reached the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKTP) score of 75 in trigonometry quizzes. This study aims to develop the educational game TERAVEN of Majapahit using Construct 2 as a learning medium to enhance high school students’ numeracy literacy, while also assessing its feasibility and student response. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, encompassing analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Instruments included validation questionnaires by media and content experts, student response questionnaires, and numeracy literacy tests. Validation results showed scores of 89.9% from the media expert and 94% from the content expert, both categorized as "highly valid." Small group trials yielded a practicality score of 79.5%, and large group trials 69.94%, both falling under the “practical” category. The numeracy literacy test indicated an 80% mastery rate, categorized as “high.” These findings confirm that TERAVEN of Majapahit is a valid, practical, and effective medium for mathematics learning. The study also underscores the importance of integrating interactive digital media rooted in local wisdom to create engaging and contextual learning experiences, especially for trigonometry—a topic often perceived as difficult.

Abstract

Learning statistics remains a persistent challenge for many junior high school students due to abstract concepts and limited engagement in traditional classrooms. Therefore, improving students’ understanding and motivation in statistics learning requires innovative learning models that promote active, meaningful participation. This study investigates the impact of a novel deep learning-based Jigsaw model on Grade VIII students’ engagement and statistics learning outcomes at SMPN 2 Mojosari. Integrating principles of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning, the model emphasizes understanding, application, and reflection to foster deeper cognitive engagement. Using a quantitative one-shot case study design with 32 students, data were gathered through student activeness questionnaires and statistics achievement tests. Findings reveal that this approach significantly enhances student activeness, promoting collaboration and critical thinking during discussions, presentations, and reflections. Most students demonstrated medium to high engagement levels, while average learning outcomes surpassed the school’s minimum mastery criteria. Given the urgent need to improve statistical literacy and student motivation in junior high schools, the deep learning-based Jigsaw model offers a promising, effective alternative strategy to traditional teaching methods. This research contributes valuable evidence supporting innovative, student-centered learning in mathematics education.
